The sweeping ocean views from inside and outside of the home, private beach access, backyard pool, and immaculately maintained coastal interior will make you feel as if you have found your new favorite place on earth. Sitting in the swing on the porch you feel like you are Ocean Front. The ground floor provides easy access to the backyard pool which is equipped with pool floats and water toys, a surfboard bar, outdoor grill, and plenty of comfortable pool side seating. The house may be entered from the ground level by interior or exterior stairs and/or elevator providing for easy access from the beach or pool. Upon entering the 1st floor, guests will immediately notice the attention to detail in every space. This home was designed to be a true home away from home and is well loved. The main floor boasts 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms (2 King Beds, 1 Queen bed) as well as a full laundry area. Additionally a biking/walking path runs most of the island and is located directly in front of the house on Ocean Blvd. There are several local boutiques and surf shops that we frequent. Most of these are located just across the bridge. We recommend checking out Provision Co., Mankins, The Scoop, Mermaid's, Patronie's, Inlet View in Shalotte or Lou Lou's for local eats. Saltwater Shanty and Beaches n' Cream are our choice for local ice cream. There are also several businesses that provide fresh caught seafood and vegetables if you choose to eat in for the night. Lockwood Folly County Club nearby offers golf for the golfers in the family. Additionally, Shallote is only 15 minutes a way and offers several good restaurants and a local arcade/bowling alley. Calabash and Southport are only 30 minutes away by car with many food and shopping choices in quaint beautiful coastal environments. Myrtle Beach and Wilmington are an approximate 45 minute drive. Finally, beach walks always provide sea treasures on Holden and are a favorite activity of our family. Don't forget to leave a message in the mailbox on either the east or west end. You will find Holden offers everything a family wants in a beach getaway, but leaves out all the things you don't. brbr We look forward to sharing our home with you and your family this season. This Second Row recently updated house has an inverted floor plan, meaning the family room, dining, kitchen, and Master (King sized bed) are on the topmost floor so the views can be maximized. There is plentiful dining seating as well as a kitchen with every tool a cook can think to use, if one enjoys cooking meals for the family at the beach. Please note we do not provide linens or bath towels. Bring your own or rent from nearby rentals. At the entry level one will find a welcoming sitting room, a King bedroom with a shared Jack and Jill bathroom (tub shower) that opens to a bedroom with two twin beds. Also, there is a bunk room for the kids, with two bunk beds and an adjoining private bathroom (shower with detachable shower spray). The washer and dryer are on this level under the staircase. HD cable and a flat screen TV with a soundbar and subwoofer speakers are provided in the family room TV for movie nights, and all the Roku stick enabled TV's have access to HDTV with the Spectrum app. Netflix and Amazon Prime are also provided for free streaming. Excellent Wifi coverage. Private (deeded) beach access is three houses over and across the street.br The under-the-house storage room is fully stocked with a Weber charcoal grill, as well as beach toys and games, chairs, umbrellas, body boards, as well as a cart to tote them on. The foot shower is conveniently located near the front steps for rinsing off sand before entering the house; and for those who enjoy bathing in the fresh air, there is an enclosed outside shower, sink, and changing area.br The beach is not crowded since only ocean front and second row houses share this stretch of sand.br Holden Beach is a family friendly beach where you will find houses and a handful of condos. Enjoy watching the baby turtles hatch in August, or catch a wave with the body boards. Grab dinner at several nearby restaurants, or plan an outing to Myrtle or Wilmington, both only an hour away, and then come back to enjoy the peace and quiet Holden welcomes you with once you cross over that magical curved bridge onto the island. With a covered back porch, you can still sit out there during a light to moderate rain without getting wet! The Crow's Nest is no longer available to access. New in 2023, the Guest bath has been remodeled, and new carpet in the bedrooms! Relax on the covered back porch overlooking the canal. In the hot afternoons, there is an outdoor living space under the home complete with a sectional sofa, coffee table, chairs, and a picnic table. Inside the home offers 3 Bedrooms (all with Queen beds), a portacrib for the small ones, 2 full Baths, Well stocked kitchen with a couple of bar stools. Living and Dining rooms open with vaulted ceilings and ceiling fans in the kitchen, living room, and all bedrooms! There is also an enclosed outdoor shower for rinsing off all the sand and deck seating on that level as well. For all your grilling needs, we offer a Blackstone gas griddle and charcoal grill! For the person who loves kayaking, there is an available kayak for your use. We are a Sunday to Sunday rental in the summer months. Beds are made up and ready for you!
