Nancy’s Treetop Mountain Vista~ Romantic~Hot Tub~Cool Hikes~Amazing Views!

Candler, North Carolina, United States

We are gratefully open for guests with all amenities intact! Including the views and the area. All roads leading to the cabin are in good shape. The historical Biltmore Estate has been up and running for months and Asheville is rising as usual in great form. The spirit here is unstoppable❣️brbrKnown for its inspiring views, privacy and serene atmosphere, our cabin is the perfect getaway for the romantic at heart. Our Cozy and inviting home features a King Bed (stunning view can be seen from bed), Beautiful Wood Burning Stove, Reading Nook with a variety of books, Love Seat, and Flat Screen TV with a satellite program. Also a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your favorite meals, Hot Tub and gas grill on the totally private deck, which is partially covered for outdoor dining even in a gentle rain. If you time your trip right you may even witness a full moon coming up over the mountains and sailing across the sky! The bathroom provides a Ceramic Tile Walk In Shower, Old Amish Cabinet and a Copper Bowl Sink. We now have a fire pit with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing campfire. Just bring the marshmallows and hot dogs!brbrTreetop Mountain Vista is easily accessible with any kind of vehicle and is only a quarter mile from the main road. We are only minutes away from Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Pisgah, the Biltmore Estate and the Asheville Outlets Mall. Enjoy many varied activities as you explore white water rafting, kayaking, hiking, the Pisgah National Forest, fly fishing, hot air ballooning, mountain biking, climbing, community theater and the Land of Waterfalls in nearby Transylvania County. Take in Asheville for our world class restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, antique, vintage clothing and craft shops, parks, Pack Square, quirky tours and let's not forget the abundance of micro-breweries. Plenty of time for day trips ...check out the nearby mountain towns of Waynesville, Black Mountain, Brevard, Flat Rock and Chimney Rock. Or you may choose to bring your supplies, never leave the property and just enjoy relaxing or exploring the mountain behind the cabin. Many guests do just that!!! (Dogs especially love it because they can run off leash!)brIf your visit to Asheville includes hiking or biking, then you’ve landed on the right pad! TTMV is perfectly situated within easy driving distance to many of the best trails in Western NC. We are only 4.5 miles from where the famous “Mountains to Sea Trail” intersects at MP 405 with the Blue Ridge Parkway and Hwy 151. (Also named Pisgah Highway, a very scenic road in it’s own right.) Go South on the Blue Ridge Parkway to “Looking Glass Rock”trail on the left, (a rigorous trail with a famous view) and go a little further to “Graveyard Fields” on the right. Keep going to Black Balsam Rd on the right (easy to miss) with trail heads and at the end is the “Art Loeb Trail” section 3, which is part of the “Shining Rock Wilderness Area”. (This writer has been on that trail several times but has yet to make it to Shining Rock). These are only suggestions and to learn more about these wonderful opportunities and more, go to sites such as “Hike WNC” and “Asheville Hiking Tours”. You do NOT need a four-wheel, SUV, Jeep or large truck to access any of these hikes. For less exhilarating hiking adventures, check out the NC Arboretum and Bent Creek Experimental Forest, both of which are only 20 minutes from this cabin. Or spend a day on the Biltmore Estate trails.

Cozy mountain cabin bordering national forest

Candler, North Carolina, United States

Rustic and inviting cabin along a lovely mountain creek, borders Pisgah National Forest. You will love relaxing on the deck under the trees listening to the peaceful sounds of our creek. Inside your private retreat you will find a full kitchen, loft with queen size bed and full size bed in the downstairs bedroom. Comfortable dining and living areas with TV, Blue Ray player and high-speed wireless Internet access. Spend the cool evenings in front of a cozy fire. brNestled at the base of Mount Pisgah, your backyard is over 80,000 acres of protected National Forest. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and long nature walks just outside the front door. Take a leisurely drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, just four miles from the cabin. At Creekstone Cabin you're only a 25-minute drive to downtown Asheville and the best the area has to offer in attractions, entertainment, dining, shopping, outdoor activities, and more.brbrINSIDE THE CABINbrThe upstairs loft is accessed by a narrow spiral staircase to the catwalk (see pictures) leading to the bed area at one end and and the dressing area at the other. Please mind your head up here as the ceiling is vaulted and the highest clearance is only 6 feet. The queen size bed faces creek side, letting you drift off to sleep to its soothing sound. When you awaken, you will find yourself just below canopy level looking down on the moss and rhododendron-covered back yard; a great way to greet your day. The downstairs bedroom has a full size bed that also faces creek side so everyone gets lulled to sleep by the burbling creek.brThe kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, bake ware and your serving/dining needs. The kitchen has a microwave, toaster, mixer, utensils, paper and cleaning products, and full sized stove and range; everything you need to prepare a great meal. In the cabinet above the microwave you will find growlers to a couple of our local breweries and we hope you put them to good use!brThe living area is a great place to relax for conversation or a good book in front of a crackling fire. Enjoy a movie from our library or stream from the cabin's Netflix account or your own streaming service via ROKU. Use your mobile device to stream your own music playlists through the Bluetooth equipped surround sound system. My cabin provides a great blend of rustic feel with modern amenities. brThe well lit bathroom has modern fixtures, and offers a shower/tub combination. While small it has what you need, including hair dryer, soaps and shampoo in case you run short, and all your linen/paper needs.brbrOUTSIDEbrThe three season deck is just about every guest's favorite feature; a spacious 16' x 20' with gas grill, teak furniture, tiki torches and deck umbrella complete with lights! Great for entertaining, reading, watching the humming birds, goldfinches, and cardinals all to the backdrop of the burbling creek. To sit out here wrapped in the nurturing embrace of the woods will renew your strength and replenish your spirit.brOff the back side of the deck is a path that leads across the creek and into the national forest. Enjoy a short hike to Stony Fork Creek (1/3 mile) or a 3 mile round trip journey up to the abandoned logging road on the ridge line above the cabin. Take a walk down the road and explore the modest homes and cabins in the area.brThe Pisgah National Forest and DuPont Forest in the area offer more hiking than a person could do in a lifetime. You will find hiking guide books and maps at the cabin that can help you decide which hikes are right for you. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 4 miles up the road from the cabin offering breath taking views, scenic drives, and (you guessed it!) plenty of hiking.brbrGRATITUDEbrI'd like to say thank you for taking the time to consider booking my cabin. This truly is a special place that is precious to me; I miss living here every single day. My intent is to return and make Creekstone Cabin my permanent residence in 2030, maybe earlier if I'm very lucky. It has been a joy for me to share the cabin with like-minded people, looking for respite from life's demands. I am truly grateful to all my guests; you make it possible for me to hold on to this rustic gem.br-John

Rustic Retreat with Soothing Sauna and Plunge Pond

Candler, North Carolina, United States

Originally a pole barn, Creekside Studio has served as workspace for a potter and, later, a glassmaker. Today, it’s an inviting living space and just what you need: a well-situated home base for exploring western North Carolina and a great place to relax when you’re done! brbrBring your hiking shoes, road or mountain bike, canoe or kayak, and other essential toys. Creekside Studio is near the Pisgah National Forest border and about 7 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Access the Parkway via scenic, winding Highway 151—a gorgeous drive or challenging (but rewarding!) bicycle climb. Once you reach the Parkway, you’re just 3 miles from the Mount Pisgah trailhead and a 1.5-mile hike from the finest panoramic views around at 5,721 feet. A large, locked storage/laundry room at the studio can secure your gear when you're not adventuring. And if you seek a different kind of action, the studio is a 25-minute drive to the funky bustle of downtown Asheville where you’ll find plenty of interesting people, arts, history, and more craft beverages than you’ve ever dreamed of!brbrCreekside Studio sits on 13.5 acres of forested land along a dead-end, gravel road. Here, you can sit in the Hot Springs hot tub on the 740-square-foot deck, count the stars in a very dark sky, and take in the sounds of…nothing, except the creatures of the night and the whisper of the creek below the front yard. The spacious deck provides ample room to grill, dine al fresco, and relax in the rocking chairs with a glass of something delicious. Just up the trail from the studio is a traditional Finnish-style, wood-fired sauna designed and built by the owners featuring wood harvested from the property and reclaimed materials. Light the fire, lie back, sweat out your cares, and then plunge into the cool, spring-fed pond. It’s electrifying and so good for the body and soul. An outdoor shower with hot and cold water will facilitate the transition from sauna to pond to hot tub. A set of robes in the bedroom closet will surely please; just bring your slippers. brbrThe studio’s open yet cozy space is perfect for two. The kitchen contains all the tools you’ll need to create your favorite meals or treats. In the winter months, you can enjoy the glow of a warm fire in the woodstove.brbrYou may decide to unplug upon arrival, but, if not, free WiFi will keep you connected with the outside world. Not that you’ll need it, but electronic entertainment options include a Roku TV with Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, and Hulu; a Bluetooth-enabled stereo with CD player; and DVD player. brbrWe’d love to welcome you to Creekside Studio.
