Centrally located between Boone and Blowing Rock you’ll have easy access to all the fun attractions the High Country has to offer. It’s a short drive to App State, the Blue Ridge Parkway, snow skiing resorts, hiking trails, waterfalls, lakes and more. brOur two story home provides easy access up a few steps to the porch and through the front door. From there you’ll arrive at the spacious, fully equipped open kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The table with seating for six is conveniently located in the kitchen area and a half bath with enclosed full size washer and dryer is off to the left. Beautiful, large plank hardwood floors are found throughout the entire home. The main living space offers a gas fireplace, large screen TV, and comfortable seating but the star of the show is the amazing view from the expansive wall of windows in the living area. The first floor deck is accessed from here and offers a gas grill, outside dining table, comfy chairs with ottomans for relaxing and taking in the view. It’s a wonderful spot to enjoy your morning coffee, watch the sunset over the mountains or just spend time with family and friends. The primary bedroom, also on the main floor, includes a comfortable king size bed, and TV. From the double windows in this bedroom you also have a magnificent view of the mountains. The adjacent bathroom offers a double vanity and shower.brDownstairs you’ll find a second spacious living area with a game table and chairs, large screen TV and comfortable seating. There are two downstairs bedrooms as well. The first has a king size bed and the second has two twin beds. Both bedrooms are spacious and have closets with extra pillows and blankets. We store our collection of board games in the twin bedroom closet. The full size shared bathroom downstairs offers a single vanity with a bathtub/shower combo. The downstairs deck is accessed from the living area and boasts a large hot tub, as well as a small table and chairs. brOur location is a short 10-12 minute drive to either downtown Boone or Blowing Rock, so it is ideally located. This home is accessed by a very steep gravel road. 4WD or AWD vehicles are absolutely required year-round, and during winter months chains may also be necessary. All guests going to Skytop Retreat must drive respectfully and slowly through the neighborhood. There is a garage with room for 2 cars, and room for 2 more cars to park outside. It is a shared driveway and the neighborhood has one-lane gravel roads. Please see more details below. brbrAs you enter the home, you'll move through the foyer into the dining room. This welcoming space features a table with seating for 10 people, so there's plenty of room for everyone to pull up a chair and break bread together. A few steps down from the dining room leads you into the great room with its soaring ceilings, stone gas log fireplace, TV, and glass double doors to the open deck. The kitchen is at the rear of the great room, and is a chef's dream with Viking brand stainless steel appliances, granite counters, huge island, custom cabinetry, warming drawer, and a variety of helpful small appliances including a food processor, blender, hand mixer, slow cooker, and a rice cooker. The pantry offers an built-in ice maker for your convenience, as well. brbrSkytop Retreat features several options for those who want to have some fun, kick back, and relax.
