Fern Ridge Lodge is a distinctive, luxury mountain home on 2.25 acres in Sweetgrass, Blowing Rock's premier mountain lake community. Sweetgrass features extraordinary lake and hiking amenities that combine with this spectacular lodge to create the absolute PERFECT vacation experience! Nestled in a forest blanketed with ferns next to the Blue Ridge Parkway at an elevation of 3500 ft., Fern Ridge Lodge offers relaxed, upscale elegance that is sure to surpass your expectations!

This gorgeous million-dollar home features over 6,200 square feet of indoor living space, over 900 square feet of covered outdoor living space, seasonal mountain views, upscale furnishings, exquisite custom wood and tile craftsmanship throughout the home, 5 King bed suites and 3 additional suites all with beautiful bathroom tilework with rain head showers and hand-held spray wands. There are 3 gas log fireplaces operational October-April each year, many original art pieces, granite countertops, upscale furnishings, hand-sewn Persian rugs, walnut wood flooring and trim, two great rooms, 8 HDTV's equipped with Direct TV, 9-ft to 20-ft ceilings throughout, a beautiful fire pit area with lots of seating, a 5-minute walk to Sweetgrass Lake, and extensive hiking trails.

With just one step to enter the main level, the home is easily accessible. On the main level there is a spacious great room featuring a 20-foot high stained walnut boxed beam ceiling, walnut flooring and trim, HDTV, a stone gas log fireplace overseen by Bob the moose, a hand-sewn Persian rug, plenty of comfortable leather seating, and beautiful views through floor-to-ceiling windows of the surrounding forests as well as seasonal views of Grandfather Mountain.

On this level are also a large fully-equipped kitchen featuring spacious granite counters and a large granite and wood paneled island with seating for 6 that offers plenty of room for your group whatever the occasion. The island also features a large copper sink, a microwave oven, and 2 dishwashers. Also featured is a 6-burner gas range with double gas ovens, griddle, and warming shelves.

Adjacent to the kitchen and great room is a spacious dining area with seating for 10. Also, the dining and living areas extend comfortably and easily outside to a large wrap-around deck with a covered dining area with seating for 6, a grilling area, and a covered outdoor living room area with plenty of cozy seating.

Down the hall from the kitchen is a mud room and laundry room with 2 sets of stacked front loading washers and dryers as well as a second full-sized refrigerator. Off the foyer there is a bedroom featuring a vaulted ceiling, King bed, an overhead antique pendant light recycled from a church, an HDTV, and full bathroom with custom tiled shower which also opens to the hallway.

Off the north side of the main great room is a spacious master suite featuring a fireplace, king poster bed, and a full bathroom with double granite vanities, large tiled steam shower with rain head and hand-held spray wand, and a luxurious copper soaking tub.

Upstairs you'll find a roomy King bed suite with a vaulted ceiling, HDTV, and bathroom with tiled shower, another beautiful King bedroom containing an HDTV and a bathroom with tiled shower, and a spacious bedroom with 2 queen poster beds and a sitting area and desk and a full bathroom featuring double vanities and a tub-shower combo that is also accessible from the landing.

Downstairs is a great room featuring a wet bar with mini-fridge and icemaker, a 65-Inch ROKU Smart HDTV, a stone gas log fireplace, leather sofas, a fishing-themed gameroom featuring an Ol' Hausen pool table with a custom light fixture overhead made from a 100-year-old canoe and fishing buckets, and another gameroom with arcade games, card table, and shuffleboard. A bedroom with Queen bed is at the front of the house. There is also a custom made camp-style bunkroom with sleeping for 8 in XL twin mattresses housed in 4 bunk sets made from tree trunks which contain built-in stairs for access to the top bunks. There is also a full bath with tub/shower combo and dual access from the great room.

Off the lower great room is also a spacious king bed suite with HDTV and a bathroom with tiled shower. Step outside to more spacious covered decks with furnished sitting areas, an 8-person hot tub, and a stone patio with Adirondack chairs positioned around a large built-in stone firepit.

Within the neighborhood is Boone Fork Creek, which winds through the middle of Sweetgrass and has been designated as a North Carolina Outstanding Trout Stream. Just a little ways up the road at the heart of SweetGrass is the 22-acre lake fed by Boone Fork Creek! Bring your own canoes/kayaks and paddles to enjoy this beautiful lake!

Sweetgrass features beautiful mountain vistas, a lake and stream, and miles of pristine mountain trails which are perfect for hiking, riding, and biking. Please note that this property absolutely does not permit pets anywhere in or on the premises at any time including outdoor spaces. Bona fide service animals as prescribed by a medical professional may be permitted, and the presence of a service animal must be disclosed prior to check-in. Misrepresenting a pet as a service animal is a crime under North Carolina law. Guests who bring a pet to a no-pet home will be subject to a non-refundable $750 fee to reimburse the owner for wrongful use of their home as well as compensate for removing pet hair and dander and clean carpets and upholstery.
If any pets are discovered during your tenancy including via security camera or observation of neighbors or BRMR staff, your credit card on file will be charged for the above-mentioned fee.

Important Notes:
-Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- EVENTS WITH VENDORS OR OTHER LARGE GATHERINGS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT THIS PROPERTY. Violators will be evicted from the property with no refund.
- All Reservations are subject to a $500 refundable security deposit.
- Check-in time for this home is 5:00pm and check-out is 10:00am.
- The hot tub temperature will remain set at 101* at all times and cannot be adjusted.
- The owners use outdoor surveillance cameras to ensure that their home remains safe. No cameras monitor the inside rooms of the home.
- The gas log fireplaces are operational only from October to April of each year.
- Sweetgrass is an environmentally conscious community that observes a catch and release fishing policy to ensure a sustained fish population.
- The Owners' dogs & cat have stayed in this home, but it is not pet friendly for new reservations. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
- The Sweetgrass neighborhood is a peaceful haven, and therefore does not permit firearm discharge, fireworks, golf carts, dirt bikes, four wheelers, loud music, or other objectionable noises that disrupts the quiet enjoyment of the natural environment. During quiet hours (10PM – 8AM), all outdoor noise should be kept to a minimum.
- Rental guests have access to the grounds around the lake house, all hiking trails, and may fish in the lake. Guests are not permitted inside the lake house or on its patio. ATVs are not permitted on the hiking trails.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a starter set of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
