In addition, each side features a spacious Great Room with a floor to ceiling wood burning stone fireplace, a large kitchen and dining area, downstairs den with billiards, 2 open decks, and a hot tub on each side. Couch is angled enough to take in that view as well as the fireplace. This like-new, three level home is the perfect choice for your next NC mountain vacation no matter if you prefer to be close to historic downtown Banner Elk and the Blue Ridge Parkway or minutes from the year-round activities in Boone and at Appalachian State University. Guests especially enjoy the two large decks to take in the peaceful natural surroundings and profile view of Grandfather Mountain. They pair well with both your morning coffee or perhaps a glass of wine from the nearby Grandfather Winery. The living area embraces you with the natural warmth of wood, and on winter days the glow of the soaring fireplace. The adjoining dining area is the perfect location to enjoy a backdrop of fall color. And the modern kitchen with stainless appliances is perfect for preparing dinners.brbrThe master bedroom on the main level has a comfortable queen bed and the attached bathroom offers a combination shower/tub. Upstairs you'll find another master with a queen bed, walk-in closet and full bathroom that offers a jetted tub/shower combo. Just outside the master bedroom is a large loft with cozy seating. On the lower level, find the third bedroom just off the family room with queen bed. There is also a second cozy gas-burning fireplace in the family room paired with a flatscreen TV. These rooms share a Jack and Jill bath, again with shower/tub combo, and easy access to the adjacent laundry room and deck access.br brA highlight of this home is the easy walk along the gravel road to the small waterfall that cascades over large boulders and under the wooden bridge.br brWhen you are ready to explore, this location is central to everything! Turn right and find yourself in Banner Elk within five minutes, or a few miles further to Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Or turn left and find yourself only five minutes from Valle Crucis or ten minutes from Boone.  brbrAdditional notes:br- This home does present more challenging winter access  - 4wd and possibly chains may be required during winter conditions due to elevation and steepness.br- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a starter set of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.br- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10ambr- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.br- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.br- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.br- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.br- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. If mountain elegance is what you are seeking, and on the river as well, Casa Rio delivers!brbrLocated only a mile from the historic Mast General Store and Valle Crucis Riverfront Park, Casa Rio is also convenient and central to all the High Country offers. Boone is only 5 miles away, Banner Elk is about 9 miles away, and Blowing Rock is only 11 miles away. Snow skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating are nearby, with Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Appalachian Ski Mountain about 12 miles and Beech Mountain Ski Resort only 14 miles away. Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Lines is only about 11 miles from the cabin. Grandfather Mountain is less than 15 miles away, and Tweetsie Railroad is only 10 miles from Casa Rio. brbrThe main level of Casa Rio features an open floorplan with a foyer entry boasting high vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. A banquet-style dining table seats up to 8 guests. Entertaining is easy with the additional counter-height 4-seat table and three bar stools at the center kitchen island. The kitchen has gorgeous granite counters, high-end stainless appliances and is centered around a gas cooktop with custom stone accents above. The adjacent great room has two leather sofas, positioned conversationally, offering a view of the fireplace and the big screen HD Smart TV. brbrThe king master suite with an HDTV, and a sliding glass door leading to a rear patio, is on the main level.
