Just a few minutes outside of Dillon Montana, Goose Down Ranch has a nice quiet spot for you to stay! Our places are clean, comfortable and affordable. The Cottage is a renovated, rustic, one-level cabin. Master bedroom has a queen bed and ensuite full bathroom, big closet, lovely windows with awesome views. Second bedroom has one queen and 1 XL twin bed. Other sleeping area, has 1 XL twin bed. Second full bath and large, open, country style full kitchen with all the amenities. The Porch gives you amazing views of the West Pioneer Mountains, while the new back grilling outdoor area, offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy your time, outside, gazing at the lovely Blacktail Mountain range. We have, Wifi, full size W/D, gas grill, satellite TV. But, you will want to enjoy the views, out on the porch, go see the mountains, hike the trails, fish the rivers and explore the wonderful areas that surround Dillon, the majestic area we live in. We boast Blue Ribbon Fishing! The Beaverhead River, with famed Poindexter Slough are just down the lane from you. Or choose from 5 other blue ribbon trout rivers close by. The Big Hole River, the Jefferson River, The Madison River and the Ruby River are all within a reasonable jaunt, to fish for the day. Many great hiking trails are close by to explore; easy day trips or adventurous mountain lake trails in the Pioneers. You can raft, float, wade, or swim while enjoying breathtaking beauty. Bring along your fishing rod to catch Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout. Bring your camera to capture the spectacular views, moose, deer and occasional mountain goat or big horn sheep. Crystal Digging & Ghost Towns. Are you heading west You can dig your own crystals at Crystal Park. Experience the historic ghost towns of Coolidge or Bannack. Heading east to the ghost town of Virginia City, experience an old-time candy shop, a real malt at the soda fountain shop, and take in a vaudeville show at the Follies, or Virginia City Players. Water Sports brJust south of us is Clark Canyon Dam for sun, swimming, cliff jumping, boating, and jet skiing. Enjoy a lazy float down the Beaverhead River on tubes or kayaks. How about Big Game Hunting brSouthwest Montana is home to some of the very best big game hunting, from elk, Mule & Whitetail deer, moose, antelope and much more. Upland game bird hunting follows the big game season and Beaverhead County is home to a great array of birds. Into Pictographs & Geology brBeaverhead County is the largest county in Montana and includes a broad range of scenic and geologic diversity. Just 10 minutes south are hidden some prehistoric cave paintings. From the high mountain meadows and sub alpine peaks to expansive basins, Beaverhead County offers a rich natural and human history.

lturas 2: Clean, Modern 2BR Cabin, Big Windows for Big Mountain View’s

This is a beautiful, new cabin with modern touches, clean/minimal lines, and spectacular mountain views through massive windows. The cabin takes its name from one of the peaks you'll see right out your window, Alturas 2 (Our 1 BR cabin is named for the next peak to the south.... Alturas 1). Alturas 2 is a 2 BR cabin with a queen bed in the back bedroom and a twin-over-full bunk bed in the 2nd bedroom. The 2nd bedroom's bottom bunk is large enough to accommodate 2 adults. (No one over 110lbs on top bunk please. NO PETS. Alturas 1 is our pet-friendly cabin). brbrThere's also a full RV hookup just to the north of Alturas 2. Hook up your RV for a nominal fee. Rent both cabins for a discount to accommodate larger groups!brbrThere's more than enough elbow room on this (over) 10 acre property and the neighbors and noise are plenty far away. Use it as a base camp for your travel, biking, fishing, hunting, or skiing adventure or just get your relax on. Come just to get away and use the Wi-Fi for watching movies or working remotely. MT Hwy 278 is part of the Pioneer Scenic Byway and Big Hole Loop with unrivaled access to hiking, hot springs, snowmobiling, Bannack State Park (ghost town), horseback riding, the RATPOD bike race, and world-class trout fishing on the Beaverhead and Big Hole Rivers (not to mention numerous small creeks and lakes to drive or hike to).brbrYou'll be situated a very short drive from Dillon, MT; a cute western town with roots in ag, railroading, and education. There are plenty of shops, fun restaurants, coffee shops, a brewery, and local happenings to satisfy travelers year round. Dillon is also home to to 1 of 5 Patagonia Outlets in the country as well as one of the biggest Labor Day celebrations around complete with rodeos, concerts, and a fair. brbrYou're also just a short drive from lots of fun/historic small towns with their own unique draw and appeal. There's an area information/recommendation booklet inside the cabin for reference too. brbrThere are 3 cabins on the property situated in a similar orientation. Just south of this cabin is a 2 BR, 5 guest cabin. At the northern property boundary, is a sleek, spacious studio cabin called the Studio at Alturas. Look for our other listing or inquire via messages if a larger space is needed. brbrThis cabin Has:brQueen bed, Twin-over-full bunk bed, futon sofa (single), wi-fi, tv, full kitchen, pots/pans/place settings, coffee maker, shower (no bathtub), basic pantry items (tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, various spices, and more), a deck with furniture and trellis cover. The deck has a partial roof over the door (and slightly beyond) for foul weather. brbrAlturas 2 and the Studio at Altruas are allergen friendly. Alturas 1 is our pet-friendly cabin. If you need more space, we'd gladly add a discount for renting multiple cabins. brbrbrWhat to do from here: brbr5 minutes from the Beaverhead River, 5 minutes from the gas station, under 10 minutes to the grocery store/restaurants, 16 miles to Bannack State Park (ghost town), 30 miles to the Big Hole River, 30 miles to Maverick Mountain Ski Area and Elkhorn Hot Springs, 37 miles to Crystal Park. 70 miles to Butte, MT, 2 hrs to Idaho Falls, ID, or to Salmon, ID, and an easy day trip to Ennis, MT and West Yellowstone to access Yellowstone Park.brbrFor fishing guides, horseback rides, and equipment rentals, let us know and we can easily help put together an unforgettable outing.
