The Kozy Kabin is located in a woodsy neighborhood of northern Michigan, on the outskirts of Hillman towards Atlanta. Just a quarter mile away from the ORV trailhead at end of the street with some of Michigan's best trails for ATV's, dirt bikes, UTV's and snowmobiles. You can ride directly from the Kozy Kabin to the trails. There should be plenty of room to park your truck/trailer and additional cars in the driveway as well. Surrounded by 1,000s of acres of state land just across the street, this is the perfect location for your outdoor getaway! Atlanta is known as the 'Elk Capital' of Michigan, and we've seen plenty on the trails around the Kozy Kabin, along with deer, bear, fox, coyotes, etc. There are dozens of amazing lakes nearby: Avalon Lake, Long Lake, Fletcher Pond, etc! The Thunder Bay golf course is a few minutes away in Hillman. Don't forget your ORVs, hunting gear, hiking clothes, fishing poles, snowmobiles, boats, jet skis, kayaks, golf clubs, & the dogs! There is no shortage of outdoor activities to do when you're staying at the Kozy Kabin! brbrWe call it the Kozy Kabin for a reason! It's a one room open floor plan with a full kitchen and bathroom. There are two futons that turn into full size beds, each with brand new mattress toppers to make them more kozy! You'll also have twin bunkbeds for more sleeping space. All blankets and linens are provided. There is a smart TV with DVD player and a selection of movies. (There is currently no wifi at the Kozy Kabin but you can hook up the tv to a mobile hotspot to use the roku and smart tv features, most cell providers get good service here) The bathroom has a shower stocked with toiletries and luxury towels (please note the bathroom space is very kozy and compact, but we have plans for an addition to make the bathroom larger in the future). The kitchen has everything you need to cook, along with a coffee maker & coffee/tea provided! There is a wall furnace for the fall/winter months to keep it nice & warm. Outside you'll have a patio table and BBQ grill for enjoying the outdoors. A great fire pit area with adirondack chairs to enjoy the evening with friends & family. Some firewood provided (more available for purchase if you run out). brDogs are always welcome, but please make sure to include that you are bringing them in your reservation and clean up after them. There is a designated poop shovel in or near the shed. Please do not leave any land mines in the yard, but the woods is fine!brbrThere is no smoking or vaping inside of the Kozy Kabin, but you are welcome to smoke outside. Please do not dispose of cigarette butts on the ground. If there are any signs of smoking inside there will be an additional cleaning charge to your stay.brbrYou'll have full access to the entire Kozy Kabin, minus the utility closet in the bathroom. If for any reason you need to access the electric panel in there, we are only 10 minutes away to come unlock it. The shed in the backyard does have a lock on it, and the key is hanging on the coat hook for use. brbrThere are 1,000s of acres of state land directly across the street, great for hunting & exploring. The ORV trailhead is at the end of the street with some of the best trails for ATV's, dirt bikes, UTV's and snowmobiles. You can ride directly from the Kozy Kabin to the trails. Please do not ride in the yard, keep it on the trails. Pine Oaks Lodge is a 1950's era cabin right on the edge of The Atlanta State Forest, thousands and thousands of acres of trees, lakes, wildlife, and trails. A major trailhead is at the end of the lane, walking distance from the front door. Bring your recreational vehicles or just bike or hike your way around the woods. There is an unbeatable view of the island in the middle of the lake. The sunset at this property is absolutely breath taking. This truly is a 4 seasons house. The swimming and fishing in this lake are incredible. There is also a full volleyball court to enjoy for family fun right outside the house. We also have Kayaks and a paddle board at the house. In the summer and fall we do have pontoon and Jet ski rentals available. The fall offers beautiful colors all around the lake. There is also plenty to see and do in the area. There is Elk viewing and Elk tours that are only 10 mins away at Thunder Bay Golf Resort. There is an amazing apple orchard with tons to offer and see about 30 mins away at Knaebe's Apple Farm & Cider works. There are also miles of walking trails at beautiful Ocqueoc falls. An awesome sight for any adventurer and outdoor enthusiast. In the winter at this property, you will be able to enjoy a fireplace in the living room to warm up at. There are also tons of snowmobile trails in the area. The trailhead for snowmobiles is only 5 miles away. The ice fishing in the winter is great on the lake. Within a 10-minute drive you can also be at 3 different lakes in the area.
