Stayed Jul 23, 2024This was overall a great place to stay. We really enjoyed that there was no television. It caused us to take time to read and just talk. Unfortunately it was raining, so no camp fire, but there was a beautiful area for one. I would recommend and would use this location again.

Stayed Oct 24, 2025Great spot to get away. If you’re about 6 foot be careful though, had to spend the trip dogging the beams, but couldn’t have asked for a better place to rest my head at night.

Stayed Sep 19, 2025My friend and I stayed at this lovely cabin for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The cabin was perfect for the two of us. Cozy, artistic touches, “rustic” in just the right way with the modern conveniences we needed. Had 1-2 bars with Verizon. Enough to do what we needed to do on our phones. Location was great. Nice gift basket of goodies. 10/10 for us. My husband who is 6’ 3” would have been cramped with lower ceiling beams and smallish bathroom fixtures etc. just a heads up on that. But my girlfriend and I thought it was the best!

Stayed Aug 2, 2025Very Cozy, plenty of essentials. Towels, sheets, blankets, all dishes, etc. James and Alisa respond quickly. The area is beautiful. The Hunters Cabin was awesome to have quiet times away from the rest of the group. Being in the woods is so peaceful.THANK YOU!

Stayed Jul 17, 2025We were in the area for a family reunion. Pine Oaks gave us a quiet retreat in the woods to relax and unwind after the festivities. The place is comfortable and well stocked. The owners, James and Alisa, were very good communicators and left plenty of information about local attractions

Stayed Jul 11, 2025Away from the hustle and bustle of life. Perfect for our long weekend with our dogs. Close enough for us to go explore and attend wedding in Alpena. Far enough to have our quiet time together.

Stayed Jun 27, 2025The owner was very prompt on communication. It was nice to stay at a home that had multiple options for sleeping and a shower that had a shower head that could fully rinse your body.Fully equipped with kitchen and eating utensils. We like the games they offered too.

Stayed Jun 6, 2025We came to ride trails. Trail to Atlanta was open, Hilman trail was close half way there. We had a great time and weather. The cabin was conveniently located near the Atlanta south trailhead. The cabin was ok, the beams are low so if youre tall watch your head.

Stayed Nov 26, 2024This cabin was the perfect cabin for my family. We spent thanksgiving there which the kitchen was fully supplied with cooking accessories to cook the meal. The living room was very spacious for all of us to hang out. The cabin is surrounded by state land , so we did not have to go far. It was perfect for what we needed it for and very affordable.

Stayed Oct 6, 2024The cabin was located in a great central location for us on our bird hunting trip. The fenced in area behind the cabin is very convenient if you are traveling with a dog. The grill is great. Was refreshing not having a t.v. Plenty of room for a trailer if you are pulling rec vehicles or a boat. This is a cabin built in the 50's that has the original tree beams in the overhead structure that you have to watch out for if you are over about 6' tall. Both of us that stayed are 6'3 or taller so the bathroom, specifically the toilet is cramped. Understandable considering the origin of the cabin. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is I feel something about that should be in the listing.

Stayed Aug 16, 2024The cabin had lot's of nice touches and fun stuff to look at. It was a quite and relaxing place to come back to after a day of fishing. The fire pit area was perfect for hanging out and making smores. The cabin is close to a lot of great outdoorsy stuff. All in all, we had a great mini-vacation and will consider staying there again next time we head up to Fletcher's for fishing.

Stayed Jul 14, 2024Cozy cabin in a quiet area. There are neighbors but very quiet ones, never saw anyone else. Loved that there was limited cell service as my kids actually played games in the evening with us. And great that the owner left a stack of games as I didn’t think to pack any. Teenagers enjoyed having their own space in the hunters cabin. Definitely a huge step up from the tent camping we usually do.

Stayed Jun 7, 2024The cabin was exactly what we wanted when we planned this much needed weekend getaway! The interior was cozy and felt like a home away from home rather than a sanitized hotel room. There was so much personality in the cabin with its rustic decor. The beds were cozy and we all slept well both nights. The bathroom was a bit smaller than expected, but not to the point of inconvenience just more cramped. That said it was great to have indoor plumbing and a hot shower each day! We had wanted to try out the firepit, but due to the rainy weather most of Saturday we forgo those plans. The pit looked well built and maintained with plenty of firewood available. Overall our experience was very good with both the check-in and out process being very straightforward. James and Alisa are excellent hosts and I'd highly recommend giving this property a try for your next getaway!
