The Lodge is perfect for a weekend getaway, creative retreat, or remote work location.brbrGuests have exclusive access to the 1100 sq ft second floor space with a private entrance and dedicated HVAC system that is completely separate from the woodshop below. The living area does not share airflow with the rest of the building.brbrYou are welcome to use the kayaks and canoe, along with paddles and safety equipment, and take Honey Creek out to the calm Huron River for a leisurely trip in either direction. Bicycles are also available. There is a fire pit down by the creek. We supply wood and you will find folding chairs in the shed.brbrThe Huron River Lodge is part of a special community – we value and respect our neighbors and ask that you will too. The entire house is on the second floor and will be yours to use – the downstairs is Phillip’s wood shop and has a separate entrance. Do not remove plastic covering from deck tablecloth when not in use, walnuts, sap or pollen may fall and can can stain, especially if left overnight. Although no one in our family or anyone we know has been hit with a walnut or sap in our 35 years here, guests assume their own risks., especially in late September.brPlease respect that this is our home. We are about a mile from U of M Stadium (15-20 min walk) and 2 miles to Downtown Ann Arbor (5-10 min Uber ride). Our home has everything you need!brbrThere are 4 bedrooms upstairs with additional sleeping in the fully finished basement. Can sleep up to 10. The first floor includes a large living room (with TV), dining room with seating up to 8, fully equipped kitchen and adjacent family room (with TV), and a half-bathroom. Additionally, there is another living area in the basement (with TV) and a washer and dryer. There is driveway parking as well as free parking on the street. brbrThe backyard has a huge deck with comfortable seating, an additional dining area for 8 people, and a beautiful lake. Feel free to sit out back and enjoy the views, but by renting from us you agree that you will not access the lake when using our home. This tall brick home was built in 1888 and has old charm with modern features. The location is wonderful as we are less than a 10 minute walk to the downtown restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the stadium. Park your car in the driveway and you won't need to use it for the weekend. There is a big front porch with rockers and table/chairs for your meals outside as well as a patio option in the back garden. We have a grill and lots of yard games for your weekend. We have a huge gourmet kitchen with marble counters and a big island for entertaining. Big TV, lots of seating. All mattresses and bedding are super comfortable for a great night's sleep. I take great pride in having a super clean home for you with great towels and bedding. Ann Arbor's downtown is amazing with great energy. You are 2 blocks off Main Street and they shut down traffic for restaurants and pedestrians on the weekend. This home has been featured on the Old West Side Historic Home Tour and the Ann Arbor Garden Tour. I love baking and always make treats for our guests.
