Cozy Rock Cabin #thewaylifeshouldbe

Freeport, Maine, United States

*As seen on Magnolia Network`s `The Cabin Chronicles`*brbrCozy Rock Cabin is an 800 sq ft cabin on three acres of wooded land. Carefully designed for couples and digital nomads, it has everything you`ll need to explore southern Maine (#thewaylifeshouldbe) or just stay cozy in front of a fire.brbrFollow the journey on IG at @cozyrockcabin!brbrThe space is perfectly designed to be small and cozy, but also have everything you need to both live and work comfortably. There is one bedroom with a king size bed and desk, as well as a loft looking out into the woods with a full sized bed and a reading nook. brbr*NOTE* This cabin was designed and built specifically for two people. There are two beds, so you are welcome to travel with four guests, but please note there is not a wall between the two beds (one is on the loft above the primary bed), and the kitchen table only has two stools.brbrThe kitchen will be fully stocked so you can cook all your own meals, and includes pots, pans, knives, utensils and a coffee maker.brbrLOCATIONbrCozy Rock Cabin is just a quick 7 minute drive from downtown Freeport, Maine (home of the flagship LL Bean store and outlets) and just 20-25 minutes from Portland. Plus, we`re right on the coast and it`s easy to find water access whether you`re wanting to visit the rocky beaches of Maine or drop a kayak in for a paddle.brbrBOOKING DETAILSbrSpring (March-May): Calendar opens in early DecemberbrSummer (June-August): Calendar opens in early MarchbrFall (September-November): Calendar opens in early JunebrWinter (December-February): Calendar opens in early SeptemberbrbrbrPerhaps the best part of the cabin (in my opinion) is the guest book. I`ve spent the entirety of the build creating a guest book pointing you to every single thing we love in the area. Carefully curated day trips, brewery tours (based on location, beer preference, etc.), outdoor excursions and more. If you`ve ever wanted to visit Maine but weren`t sure where to start, Cozy Rock is definitely the place for you.brbrThe space is ideal for mature adults, and is not a great fit for small children, or people looking to party (we legally are only allowed 4 guests maximum). We do have neighbors who are full time residents, and we care deeply about ensuring the area remains quiet and peaceful for them. Please plan accordingly.brbrGuests will have full access to the cabin and the property. The shed is kept locked as this is where we store all our supplies and equipment (snow blower, lawn mower, etc.).brbrWhile we`re located in North Carolina, we have an awesome team of cleaners who are located nearby. We will communicate with you prior to, and during, your stay should you need anything at all. This includes questions about the house, as well as suggestions for places to eat, shop, adventure or travel.brbrCozy Rock is located about 7 minutes from downtown Freeport, but sits on 3 acres of wooded land. You feel like you`re in the middle of nowhere while also being so close to everything you might want to do.brbrThere`s plenty of parking at Cozy Rock, but no public transportation. If you`re not driving from your destination, we recommend renting a car at the Portland airport. But once you have a car, you`re just a quick drive from the beautiful Casco Bay (about 10 minutes), downtown Freeport (7 minutes) and the city of Portland (about 20 minutes).brbrPETSbrWhile the property is dog friendly, we want to make sure you know that the trim is all white pine. We do not recommend bringing dogs that are young or aren`t well trained, as they are apt to scratch/damage the trim. You will be charged for this, so just want to make sure you know this ahead of time! For this reason we also do not allow cats.brbrHOT TUBbrWe love the hot tub, and work diligently to keep it maintained year round. That said, due to situations outside of our control (Mother Nature or guest misuse) there are times where we are forced to drain and refill, or it takes extra time to reheat for the next guest. This happens rarely (so far only once in two years), but we like to manage expectations to avoid disappointment. brbr*WEATHER/CANCELLATIONS*brWe can not predict or control weather, so we don`t offer refunds due to inclement weather. Please keep this in mind when booking, and if this is a concern we recommend purchasing travel insurance (AirBNB provides this while checking out!).brbrAdditionally, because our calendar stays fully booked year round we have a strict cancellation policy and do not make exceptions. If you have concerns about this, feel encouraged to purchase travel insurance, either from AirBNB or elsewhere. This is a great option to protect you, and protect us as hosts/business owners. We appreciate your understanding!brDue to city ordinance, we are not allowed to host more than 4 guests at Cozy Rock. We are also not allowed to host gatherings, so bookings are for guests only, and no more than 4. brbrWe are a dog-friendly cabin, but do not allow cats.

Waterfront Cottage in Freeport

Freeport, Maine, United States

Located at the quiet end of Flying Point, this waterfront cottage has beautiful eastern views of Casco Bay and its islands. The oldest part of the house, built as a family summer camp in 1940, still has the charm of a historic Maine home. The house has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths and sleeps 6. Conveniently located within 2 miles of the LL Bean Paddling Center and Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park. The LL. Bean flagship store and Main Street shopping are only a 10-15 minute scenic drive away. Portland, Brunswick and Bath are 25-35 minutes away. brbrThe house overlooks Pettingill Island and Sow and the Pigs, which are a home to multiple families of ospreys, bald eagles and waterfowl. Head out on a kayak adventure and explore the nearby islands, many of which are uninhabited. Kayaks can be rented in Freeport. The LL Bean Paddling Center offers kayak tours of the bay and camps for kids (arrange in advance). The nearby Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park has a gorgeous rocky coastline with miles of trails. And then there are hundreds of other nearby activities: amazing dining, quaint towns, antique shops, breweries, bakeries, farmers markets, historic lighthouses and forts, shaker settlements, ferries to islands, beaches, foraging classes, tours, etc. brbrThe property is our second home, which we love and use for part of the year. It is constantly maintained and has a well stocked kitchen, supply closet as well as other necessities. The Wifi is excellent: we have no issues with streaming services or data downloads. ATT cell service is weak - making calls over Wifi resolves that issue. Additional information is available on Instagram @houseonflyingpoint.brbrCheck-out is at 11AM and check-in is at 4PM.

Oceanfront home with private steps to the sea + kayaks

Freeport, Maine, United States

NEW LISTING! Enjoy the Maine coast from a beautiful 3-story home perched on a bluff over majestic ocean views with private steps to the water + kayaks. Watch the tides go in and out from just about anywhere in the house, including from 2 decks and 3 oceanfront bedrooms. We're 5 minutes from Wolfe's Neck & the LL Bean Paddle Center, 10 minutes from downtown Freeport & within 35 mins of Portland, Brunswick, Harpswell, & Bath. EV Level 2 charger on site. Let your Maine adventure begin!brbrThe housebrWake up to sweeping views of Casco Bay, where the tides roll in and out and ospreys glide overhead. Perched on a bluff above the water on Freeport’s beautiful Flying Point peninsula, this stunning 3-story home offers dramatic tidal views on the Maine coast — visible from nearly every room, both decks. On a lucky afternoon, you might even spot a bald eagle soaring over the bay. It's a birdwatcher's haven.brbrThe unique layout of the home is great for families, with lots of hang out areas for everyone. It’s perfect for adult couples or groups, as two of the three oceanfront rooms are primary suites with gas fireplaces. And we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention it’s a magical location for anniversaries, honeymoons, and other special occasions.brbrWe also have an EV Level 2 charger that you're welcome to use.brbrThe YardbrPrivate steps lead directly from the backyard to the water’s edge. At high tide, you can step right into the calm shallow waters for a dip. When the tide pulls back, your own private beach emerges on the flats. While it’s not a traditional sandy beach, the tidal flats are great for relaxing by the water. We have kayaks for exploring the bay, and beach chairs are stocked in the shed for lazy afternoons in the sun. Don't forget to pack your reef shoes!brbrWhen golden hour arrives, watch the pink skies from the Adirondack chairs, cook on the gas grill, and enjoy dinner on a large outdoor dining table on the lower deck overlooking the water (photos coming soon).brbrbrThe Living SpacebrThe interior spaces here are all geared toward bringing those outdoor views in. The heart of the house is a sunken living room, a beautiful space anchored by a gas fireplace, a large sectional, and a 50” Samsung Frame TV with soundbar, all framed by a picture window overlooking the water. It flows naturally into a well-appointed kitchen with a gas stove, espresso machine, and drip coffee maker, a lobster pot and oyster & clam knives (of course!), plus a charming dining nook with a view.brbrThe kitchen leads into the stunning front room where you’ll enjoy amazing meals at a large dining table surrounded by windows offering a panoramic view of the bay. On the other side of the room is a sofa that's a go-to spot for coffee and a crossword puzzle or relaxing after a day of exploring Maine. The doors to the front room can be shut if you want a little me-time while the rest of the fam watches a movie in the living room.brbrUpstairs, a plush daybed nook surrounded by sea-view windows is the ideal reading (or napping) spot. We call it “The Nest,” and you'll understand why as soon as you climb in.brbrThe slider next to the daybed opens up onto the upper deck. A generous outdoor sectional and gas fire table set the stage for the moonrise and an unforgettable evening under the stars.brbrThe BedroomsbrTwo oceanfront primary suites — one on the second floor, one on the third — each offer a king bed, gas fireplace, sitting area, and sweeping water views. The second-floor suite includes an en suite bathroom and a desk. The third floor sweet also has a full-size sofa bed. Also on the third-third floor in an additional bedroom with two twin beds and an oceanfront view. The two rooms on the third floor share a spacious bathroom with a soaking tub and shower.brbrA first-floor bonus room with a queen bed rounds out the sleeping arrangements. While this room does not have a view, it’s perfect for those who prefer one-floor living.brbrAll rooms have sound machines and window shades. Bathrooms on the upper two floors feature bidet toilet seats. The main floor bathroom offers a new washer & dryer for guest use.brbrThe LocationbrFlying Point is one of Freeport’s most serene and scenic peninsulas. You’re minutes from Wolfe’s Neck State Park trails and the L.L. Bean Paddle Center, 10 minutes from downtown Freeport for grocery runs and outlet shopping, and within 35 minutes of Portland, Brunswick, Bath, and Harpswell.brbrThis is Maine at its most magical — come experience it.brbrWhile this is a new listing without reviews, we think you'll fall in love with it, as we have.
