WHY STAY ANYWHERE ELSE

This Korean-inspired shed-style cabin is 21’x15’ with dramatic 18’ ceilings, a queen bed with giant windows overlooking the woods, a full bathroom (toilet, sink, and a stupidly luxurious shower), a sleeper sofa with (an actually comfortable) queen foam mattress, a seating area nook with built-in cushioned benches and live edge table perfect for a game of cards or working on your laptop (don’t do it!), and a small kitchenette (sink, granite countertop, electric hot top, mini refrigerator, dishes, silverware, basics for cooking, kettle, etc.). This cabin comes supplied with linens (sheets, down comforter, towels for four, and pillows), linens for the sleeper sofa (sheets, pillows, and blankets), and two sleeping pads and pillows if you have additional guests (i.e. kids) sleeping on the floor. The cabin also has an outdoor seating area with four Adirondack chairs, a fire ring (w/ integrated grill), a small picnic table, and bistro lights that make for a magical outdoor experience.

The cabin is located in the recently renovated campground next to the Desert of Maine, an iconic tourist attraction established in 1926. The campground is small, quiet, and serene, surrounded by tall northern pines at the edge of the Desert’s rolling sand dunes which were deposited there at the end of the last ice age. The tourist attraction (open May - Oct) includes fascinating exhibits about the history, ecology, geology of the Desert, activities for kids, a train ride, mini golf, and much more. Campground guests enjoy free access to the dunes after hours, and discounted tickets for mini golf and general admission for daytime visits.

The entire experience is designed around helping you unwind from your busy life, slip in to a sense of stillness and wonder, and wake up (again) to the magic of being a human. Come to the place Where Wanderers Unwind.

Guest Access:

You will have the entire cabin on a dedicated campsite, all to yourself. In addition, you will have access to our renovated, cedar bath house which is just steps away, with individual showers.

Super cozy and comfortable cabin! We had a wonderful time using the fire pit and the self-serve camp store was so convenient. It was just big enough for the two of us and the bed was comfortable! Check in super easy, online and contactless. The grounds are clean, beautiful and tucked away from the actual park. We also enjoyed the included after hours access to the sand dunes, it was so nice to explore in the twilight with no other visitors around.

This was an immaculate cabin in a quiet location. We loved the look of the cabin (inside and out) which included a firepit and chairs, small kitchen area with a coffee/tea area, large bathroom/shower, and a wonderful scenic view. We were able to explore the area and our pups had a wonderful time. The host communicated all instructions before and after our stay, and the online guide was also super helpful. It was nice to have the stand on the grounds that was accessible 24/7- and we were able to purchase fire wood (other items also available). Unfortunately due to rain the second day we did not get to try out golf at the Desert of Maine, but we were able to look at the course which looked fun. I would definitely recommend this location to others! Just a short drive to Freeport shopping area also.

Spent 4 nights in the large cabin. It was perfect! The cabin is more like a tiny house. Well laid out, clean tidy and new. Dog friendly. The campground is a perfect size not too large for a crowded loud camping experience. A range of sites everything from air conditioned/heated cabins to bring your own set up. Close and convenient to area attractions and the coast. Make sure to take a tour of the Desert and play some mini golf with an ice cream treat to finish off a perfect game. We travel to the area several times a year and we will always stay at the Desert of Maine. Can’t say enough good things about it. Such a gem!
