The garage and basement are not part of the rental.brbrbrbrCheck-in details and the Traverse digital guidebook are sent via email prior to arrival — please look for the message from Traverse Hospitality.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrLeadville sits at 10,152 ft in the Colorado Rockies, ringed by some of the highest peaks in the Lower 48 — Mt. Elbert (14,440') and Mt. Massive (14,428') are both within 30 minutes. The town kept its Victorian downtown intact, so Harrison Avenue (half a block from the front door) still runs past restored 1880s storefronts now filled with coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, bookstores, and museums.brbrbrbrWinter: ski Copper Mountain, Ski Cooper, Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, or Beaver Creek. Ice skate, sled, snowshoe, or cross-country ski on the Mineral Belt Trail right from downtown. Snowmobile tours leave from town.brbrbrbrSummer: hike or climb Mt. Elbert or Mt. Massive, fish Turquoise Lake or the Arkansas headwaters, bike the Mineral Belt, or drive the 4WD-only Mosquito Pass (13,186') — the highest paved-ish vehicular road in the U.S. Leadville Mining District tours, the National Mining Hall of Fame, and a dozen preserved ghost towns in driving range.brbrbrbrYear-round: the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad runs scenic train trips, the Tabor Opera House hosts shows, and Harrison Avenue restaurants stay open on the shoulder seasons when bigger resort towns empty out.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrMom's House is a half-block off Harrison Avenue — you walk to every restaurant, coffee shop, brewery, museum, and gallery in downtown Leadville.brbrbrbrDRIVING DISTANCESbrbr》 Ski Cooper — 25 min (11 miles north)brbr》 Copper Mountain — 25 min eastbrbr》 Breckenridge — 35 minbrbr》 Keystone — 45 minbrbr》 Vail — 45 minbrbr》 Beaver Creek — 55 minbrbr》 Mt. Elbert trailhead — 25 min southbrbr》 Mt. Massive trailhead — 26 min northbrbr》 Turquoise Lake — 12 minbrbr》 Twin Lakes — 18 minbrbr》 Denver International Airport — 2 hr 15 min (via I-70 W to Hwy 91 S)brbrbrbrA vehicle is needed — Leadville is a Rocky Mountain town, not an airport-transfer resort. All-wheel drive or 4WD is recommended November through April. Street parking in front of the home.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbr• City of Leadville Short-Term Rental License #002088.brbr• Elevation is 10,152 ft — altitude affects some guests (headache, nausea, poor sleep the first night). Drink more water than you think, ease into the first day, and consider travel insurance if you're prone to altitude illness. Refunds cannot be offered for altitude sickness.brbr• No air conditioning — Leadville summer nights typically drop into the 40s–50s and A/C isn't needed.brbr• The fireplace is decorative only — do NOT use. Please don't attempt to light it.brbr• Pet policy: 2 dogs maximum. $70 + tax for one dog, $140 + tax for two. Pet fee is collected via the Traverse digital guidebook after booking.brbr• Parking: street parking in front of the home. In winter, watch for temporary snow-removal signs and move your vehicle if posted — City of Leadville tickets are real.brbr• Staying in the mountains means occasional small wildlife, insects, or critters — keep doors closed when possible. The home is professionally treated and cleaned between every stay.brbr• The check-in guidebook link is emailed separately from the platform booking confirmation — please watch for it. That's the only way to receive door codes, upgrade services, or submit the pet fee.brbr• Quiet hours: 10 PM – 8 AM, per City of Leadville STR ordinance.brbr* For stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional fee of $150 will apply. This helps us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensures the home stays comfortable for the duration of your stay.brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrMom's House is a self-check-in home — once you're booked, Traverse Hospitality emails check-in details, the digital guidebook, and local recommendations before arrival. During your stay, the Traverse team is a text or phone call away for anything you need. We give guests their privacy and respond quickly when asked.

Managed by Traverse Hospitality.brbrbrbrListed with @BookTraversebrbrbrbrThe Space:brbrThis rustic log cabin is a single-family home with wood-log construction, set on Hwy 91 between Leadville and Ski Cooper. The cabin is configured for 4 guests across 2 queen beds — one upstairs, one downstairs — each with its own full bathroom nearby.brbrbrbr➔ Upper Bedroom — Queen bed, access to the main living area and kitchenbrbr➔ Upper Bathroom — Full bath attached to the upper bedroombrbr➔ Upper Living Area — Wood-burning stove (primary heat), kitchen, deck accessbrbr➔ Lower Bedroom — Queen bed with full bath adjacentbrbr➔ Kitchen — Full appliances (stove, fridge, sink, cookware), table seatingbrbr➔ Deck — Upper-level outdoor space with mountain views and stargazingbrbr➔ Laundry — Washer and dryer in the cabinbrbrbrbrHeat: The wood-burning stove is the main heating source. No air conditioning is installed — at 10,152 ft elevation, nights stay in the 40s even in July.brbrbrbrSetting: Log walls throughout, no upscale finishes. Authentic mountain cabin experience.brbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrGuests have the full cabin, both decks, and the surrounding property. Parking is available at the cabin. Door code, WiFi password, stove operation instructions, and wood supply information arrive by email before your stay.brbrbrbrCheck-in instructions and a Leadville area guide (trailheads, ski conditions, restaurants, emergency contacts) are provided via email. We respond to messages quickly — most guests never need us, but we're one text away if you do.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrThe Hwy 91 Log Cabin sits on US Highway 91, the main north-south route through the Leadville corridor, on the quieter side — residential and wooded, without in-town noise or foot traffic. The cabin is positioned between downtown Leadville (7–10 minutes south) and Ski Cooper (25 minutes north), closer to skiing than to town shops.brbrbrbrLeadville town (7–10 min south): Harrison Avenue is lined with Victorian-era storefronts, brewpubs, and local shops. Periodic Brewing, High Mountain Pies, Treeline Kitchen, the Delaware Hotel, and the historic Tabor Opera House serve as anchors. The town is famous for its mining heritage and elevation (10,152 ft, second-highest incorporated city in the US).brbrbrbrSkiing: Ski Cooper 25 minutes north on US-24. Copper Mountain 25–40 minutes east via I-70. Vail and Beaver Creek 45–55 minutes east via I-70.brbrbrbrHiking and peaks: Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft, Colorado's highest peak) and Mt. Massive (14,428 ft) are 25–26 minutes south. Twin Lakes recreation area is 20–25 minutes south for fishing and boating. Turquoise Lake is 12–15 minutes away. Mineral Belt Trail (hiking/Nordic skiing) is 10–15 minutes.brbrbrbrThe location trades town convenience for mountain quiet — you're far enough from Leadville to hear the wind and the stars, close enough that dinner downtown is a 10-minute drive.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrA vehicle is required. There is no regular public transit between Hwy 91 and the ski areas, and Leadville's attractions are car-dependent.brbrbrbrDriving: Hwy 91 sits just off US-24, the main north-south highway. Ski Cooper is 25 minutes north. Copper Mountain and Vail are east via I-70 (25–40 min and 45–55 min respectively). Downtown Leadville is 7–10 minutes south.brbrbrbrParking: ample parking at the cabin. The driveway can accommodate 2–3 vehicles and is plowed in winter.brbrbrbrAirports: Denver International (DEN) is 2 hr 15 min via I-70 and US-24. Eagle County Airport (EGE, Vail area) is 50 min via I-70. Colorado Springs is ~2 hr 45 min.brbrbrbrRoad conditions: US-24 through Leadville is maintained year-round. Winter weather is common October–April; 4WD or winter tires recommended.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrFor stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional fee of $150 will apply. This helps us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensures the home stays comfortable for the duration of your stay.brbrbrbrALTITUDE: The cabin sits at 10,152 feet elevation. Plan your first 24 hours easy: drink double your usual water, ease up on alcohol, and avoid heavy exertion on arrival day. Altitude sickness symptoms include headache, nausea, and shortness of breath. We cannot offer refunds for altitude sickness — if you're prone, consider travel insurance.brbrbrbrWOOD STOVE: The wood-burning stove is the primary heat source. Full instructions arrive in your email. You'll use it every night from October–April and possibly in shoulder seasons. If you dislike wood heat or open flame, this cabin may not suit you.brbrbrbrNO A/C: No air conditioning is installed. Nights in the Leadville area stay in the 40s–50s even in July. Windows and cross-breezes handle daytime warmth. At this elevation, A/C is uncommon and unnecessary.brbrbrbrNO CELL SERVICE: Cell service is intermittent in this area of Hwy 91. WiFi is available in the cabin. If you rely on cell reception, plan accordingly. Emergency calls via WiFi are supported.brbrbrbrISOLATION: The cabin is 7–10 minutes from town and 25 minutes from Ski Cooper. It's a quiet, rural location. If you expect walkable shops or restaurants, downtown Leadville is a short drive. If you expect door-to-door delivery or immediate services, this is not the cabin.brbrbrbrWEATHER: US-24 is maintained year-round, but winter weather is common October–April. 4WD or winter tires are recommended. Check mountain pass conditions before you drive.brbrbrbrPARKING: Ample parking. The driveway is plowed in winter, but you should plan for snow management.brbrbrbrNO PETS: Pet-free home. Bringing a pet will result in either removal or a $500 pet fee to cover additional cleaning.brbrbrbrWILDLIFE: The cabin is in a wooded area at elevation. Expect the occasional insect or small critter. Keep doors closed. We pest-treat regularly.brbrbrbrCHILDREN: Families are welcome. The cabin is not child-proofed — please supervise young children, particularly around the wood stove and deck.brbrbrbrLICENSE: Lake County license on file.brbrbrbrARRIVAL EMAIL: Look for our arrival email with a link to the digital guidebook — check your spam folder. The guidebook has your door code, WiFi password, stove instructions, and local tips.brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrTraverse Hospitality manages the Hwy 91 Log Cabin. Your check-in instructions, door code, WiFi password, stove-operation guide, wood-supply information, and a full Leadville area guide arrive by email before your stay. The guide includes walking-distance restaurants, trailhead locations, ski conditions and drive times, and emergency contacts.brbrbrbrWe monitor messages daily and respond quickly — most guests manage fine on their own, but we're one text away if you need anything during your stay.

Traverse Hospitality is a phone call away if anything comes up.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrThe cabin is on US Highway 24 about 10 minutes north of downtown Leadville and 6 minutes south of Ski Cooper, in the high forest just below Tennessee Pass. This is the corridor the 10th Mountain Division trained on at Camp Hale during WWII — ski and mountain history is everywhere up here.brbrbrbrYou're roughly halfway between town and the ski hill: a Harrison Avenue restaurant or a Ski Cooper lift ticket are both about 6–10 minutes away.brbrbrbrWHAT'S NEARBYbrbr▸ Ski Cooper — 6 min (480 acres, 64 runs, 100% natural snow)brbr▸ Downtown Leadville — 10 min (restaurants, the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad, the National Mining Hall of Fame, Tabor Opera House, Melanzana flagship)brbr▸ Tennessee Pass Nordic Center — 5 minbrbr▸ Camp Hale historic site — 15 min north on US-24brbr▸ Turquoise Lake — 15 min (boating, fishing, paddleboarding)brbr▸ Mt Elbert / Mt Massive trailheads — ~20 min southbrbr▸ Copper Mountain — 25 min via Hwy 91brbr▸ Twin Lakes village — 25 minbrbr▸ Vail / Beaver Creek — 35–40 min over Tennessee PassbrbrbrbrThe neighborhood itself is forest. Other cabins exist along US-24 but they're tree-screened and spaced. No restaurants, gas station, or convenience store within walking distance — Leadville is the closest town for groceries and dining.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrYou'll need a car. There's no public transit and no reliable rideshare in Leadville.brbrbrbrFROM DENVER (DEN): ~2hr 15min via I-70 W, then Hwy 91 S through Copper Mountain to US-24. Crosses Fremont Pass (11,318 ft). 4WD or chains recommended December through March.brbrbrbrFROM EAGLE / VAIL (EGE): ~50 min via I-70 W, then US-24 S over Tennessee Pass. Easier winter approach.brbrbrbrFROM ASPEN (ASE): ~2hr via Independence Pass — but Independence Pass is closed November through May, so winter requires going around via Glenwood Springs (~3hr).brbrbrbrONCE HERE: Everything is on US-24. Ski Cooper 6 min north, downtown Leadville 10 min south, Copper Mountain 25 min east via Hwy 91.brbrbrbrPARKING: Free in the driveway for 2–3 cars. The driveway is on a hill and ices up November through April — 4WD or AWD recommended in winter. US-24 itself is plowed reliably by Lake County.brbrbrbrNO UBER / LYFT: Plan groceries and dining around having your own vehicle.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrLicense Number: License # 2026-073brbrbrbrFor stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional fee of $150 will apply. This helps us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensures the home stays comfortable for the duration of your stay.brbrbrbrRead this before booking — the things guests sometimes don't expect.brbrbrbr▸ HEAT: The wood-burning stove is the primary heat source. Radiant backup exists, but in cold months (October–April) you'll want to use the wood stove to keep the cabin comfortable. If feeding a wood stove isn't your idea of a vacation, this isn't the right cabin.brbrbrbr▸ NO AIR CONDITIONING: At ~9,800 ft of elevation, summer nights cool naturally. You won't need it — but you should know.brbrbrbr▸ STAIRS: Three levels, stairs between each. Master is on the 3rd floor, the workout/bunk room is on entry. Not single-level accessible.brbrbrbr▸ ALTITUDE: ~10,000 ft. Altitude sickness is real — headache, dizziness, nausea. Hydrate, take it easy your first day, consider travel insurance. We can't refund for altitude sickness.brbrbrbr▸ WINTER ACCESS: 4WD or AWD recommended November through April. Driveway is on a hill and can ice up.brbrbrbr▸ NO OPEN FIRES: Outdoor open fires not permitted. Indoor wood-burning stove is fine.brbrbrbr▸ HUNTING SEASON: Property is in Trophy Elk Area 49 (adjacent to 48 and 45). If you're a hunter, this is a working basecamp. If you're not, the cabin is still quiet — but you may hear hunters in the surrounding forest in season.brbrbrbr▸ LICENSE: Lake County Land Use License #2026-073. Maximum 4 guests — please don't bring extras.brbrbrbr▸ CHECK-IN: A digital guidebook link arrives by email a few days before arrival.
