Visually pleasing lots of authentic mid century Décor. Our aim was to offer beautiful setting you wont want to leave or can't wait to get back to. Our back yard is peaceful and a birdwatchers dream with Hawks, Eagles, hummingbirds, quail, and more. When not birdwatching enjoy the hubbub of a working harbor and coast guard station. Life Saving helipad servicing our hospital is just a block away. Up close view of helicopter landings are quite dramatic. These are infrequent, but do happen from time to time. Guests use the whole house, private parking for 2 cars In the front and use of entire back yard. The garage is partially available to adult guests only, for use of laundry and when space allows bicycles and kayaks. Ask host for more details. Self check in. We are available on request. Text or phone is the best way to communicate but face to face interactions if quests would like. Walk-able to the discovery trail . The Cottage Restaurant is also a few blocks away and has excellent dining choices. The discovery Trail is a few blocks away and will take you to the ferry dock and downtown. Rental cars + local cab drivers are available. There's bus lines that run in Port Angeles. The Dungeness line Greyhound bus can take you from downtown Port Angeles across the water to nearby cities such as Seattle, the Coho ferry from PA to Victoria, B.C. is available. not suitable for children under 8 years old. .

Whether you are inside or out, you will be getting your much needed dose of nature.brbrThis cozy lakefront home boasts an open floor plan comfortably holding 4 guests, with a limit of 6 guests max. There are two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen stocked with essentials, living room, dining table, washer & dryer. The primary bedroom has a full-sized bed and the second bedroom has a bunk bed including three twin beds. Rainy days on Freshwater Bay are a delight because as the rain patterns on the tin roof, you are cozy with a cheery fire, books to read or board games to play. We are located less than 1/4 mile walk from the public beach access where the mouth of the Elwha River meets the bay.. In addition to the many known attractions ofClallam county, we have guests who bird at the mouth of the river. It also has a floating extension over the lake. brbr★Kayaks★brWe provide two kayaks and two paddles. You can launch the kayaks from our private beach. There are enough room for 4 cars.brbr★Boat Launch★brWe are not providing motorboats at this time. But for boaters, there is a public boat launch just down the private road (0.2 miles from the house). You can also dock your boat at the house dock. brbr★Fireplace★brWe have two fireplaces; one is in the living room and the other one is in one of the bedrooms. However, both fireplaces are for decoration only to avoid fire hazards. We have good adjustable heating system in each room.brbr★The house is inside Olympic National Park. It is very convenient to access all the hiking trails. Hurricane Ridge, Hoh Rain Forest and pacific ocean beaches are also a short drive from the house. br★15 miles to Port Angeles for restaurants, grocery etc. br★The Olympic Discovery Trail, Spruce Railroad Trail, Marymere Falls, the Elwah Restoration project, all very close to our cabin.brbr★Stairs★brAs a lakefront house, there are about 30 steps of stairs from the parking spot to the entrance of the house. To save a few steps carrying luggage, you can enter the door on the first floor and come up to the 2nd floor bedroom to open the sliding door and move the luggages inside from the sliding door. We have installed anti-slip stripes on the stairs but please watch out while you climb up and down the stairs. brbrThe bathroom is downstairs and please use extra caution when going down to bathroom from an upstairs bedroom. brbr★Pets★brWe do allow pets during your stay with us. There is a $100 per pet one-time fee. You must notify us at least 1 day before arrival and pay the pet fee prior to getting the lockbox code.brbrCongratulations! You found it! Summary:brHilltop home overlooking the beautiful Lyre River.brbrThe Space:brThe quaint home in the woods is a real gem! You will love the eclectic bohemian styled decor and the view is beautiful. Private access and a beautiful wrap around porch where you can look down on the river and hear the water running. The upstairs Master bedroom features its own stunning views with a large window wrapped rotunda, well furnished sitting area where you can relax and view the river and a luxurious king-sized bed.  The master bath has a jetted spa-tub and standing shower. The second bedroom features a queen sized bed and there is a trundle bed/couch situated in a cozy bay window with beautiful views. The wood-fire stove in the living area makes for a cozy warm setting throughout the whole place (NOTE: The wood burning fireplace is a secondary heat source for the cabin. (Firewood bundles can be purchased on-site). A full kitchen with cookware, utensils, coffee pot, refrigerator stove and microwave. The downstairs bathroom offers a clawfoot tub and small sink vanity.brbr*This is not a pet friendly homebr*The wood fire stove is functional, however, we do not have firewood available. If you would like to use the wood-burning stove, please bring your own wood. We ask that you do not gather outside wood or sticks to burn in the fireplace.brbrThis home has exquisite forest and river views as well as easy access to the Olympic National Park and Lake Crescent (only 15 minute to the North shores.). You have access (walking) to the Lyre River where there is a sitting area so you can let the river serenade you. brbrLocated just 30 minutes outside Port Angeles, our guests can enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Olympic Peninsula with easy access to town and some of the best hiking, hunting, fishing and exploring you will ever find. There is so much to do in and around the Olympic National Forest, so take your time and enjoy your stay!brbrNearby Olympic National Park entrances like the Sol Duc, Hurricane Ridge, Hoh Rain Forest, Cape Flattery make this location an excellent base camp from which you can explore the Olympic Peninsula and towns like Forks, Neah Bay and beaches like Shi Shi Beach and Hobuck Beach. Explore the parks, walk the rivers (Dungeness, Elwha and many more), kayak on Lake Crescent or drop right in the Strait from our private boat ramp. During the Winter and Fall, enjoy the true nature of the Pacific Northwest: observe the high tides, storm surges and occasional dense marine fog from the comfort of your cozy cabin. You are going to love this place!brbrGuest Access:brGuests have access to the river front on this private property and direct private access to the home via coded door locks.brbrThe Neighborhood:brLocated just outside the quaint little town of Joyce, WA, the Lyre River House is a quiet and remote get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy all the best of what the PNW has to offer. Within 3 hrs of Seattle and Portland, this is a perfect getaway from the big city.brbrWe are nestled in the middle of so many beautiful spots to visit here around the Olympic parks. Only 25-30 (15 min to the North Shore) min to the breathtaking Lake Crescent. There are numerous hikes and places to explore there. Not much further from that is the entrance to Sol Duc. Going the other direction you’ll find the Olympic Hot Springs and be close to Hurricane Ridge entrance . Cape flattery or the Hoh rainforest are not to be missed if you’re headed towards Sekui or Forks area.br br* There is a great little store only 8 min from our cabins , Joyce General, that closes at 7pm. We are only 30 min from Port Angeles so if you’re looking for more options be sure to hit Safeway or Walmart off 101 before heading in for the night. brbr* Blackberry Cafe is an excellent option for a meal out that is only ~8 min from us. Granny's Cafe (on 101) is just on the other side of the lake as well. In Port Angeles, you have everything from amazing burgers at the Next Door Gastropub, tasty BBQ at Coyote Grill, yummy seafood and steak at Kokopelli Grill, Pho that’s the best at New Saigon. For quick and easy on the pocketbook, Fast Burrito with fresh tasty Mexican food . Also Sabi Thai has stellar Thai food. New Day Eatery has breakfast and lunch only, and is very good!brbrOther Things to Note:br* There is a great little store only 10 min from our home , Joyce General, that closes at 7pm.
