The sliding door leads to the balcony / lounge area and can be used as an alternative entrance. Fireplace is decorative only. No wood burning allowed.

#3
This unenclosed bedroom has a queen bed and a sliding door to a balcony overlooking the private beach. A corridor to this bedroom is a perfect spot for kids to play.

★Living Room | Dining Room★
This is the great room with panoramic lake view and walk out to the higher level deck. Dining area with modern lighting and large dining table that seats 8. A 65 inch smart Roku TV facing a large modern sectional couch that easily seats 8 and can sleep 2 comfortably if needed. Fireplace is decorative only. No wood burning allowed.

★Kitchen★
The kitchen is on the smaller side. There are cooking top, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. But we do not have a dish washer at this time. Otherwise, the kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of dishes, mugs, utensils and essential tools for moderate cooking.

★Deck★
The oversized deck has two levels.

The upper level overlooks the lake with outdoor furniture that seats 6. An outdoor storage box on the deck contains life jackets and other toys for you to enjoy. The upper deck has a 5-burner grill as an extension to the kitchen.

The lower-level deck is right on the water. It also has a floating extension over the lake.

★Kayaks★
We provide two kayaks and two paddles. You can launch the kayaks from our private beach. Life jackets are in the storage box on the 2nd level deck.

We are not providing motorboats at this time. But for boaters, there is a public boat launch just down the private road (0.2 miles from the house). You are welcome to launch your own boat there and enjoy the fun activities on the lake. You can also dock your boat at the house dock.

★Fireplace★
We have two fireplaces; one is in the living room and the other one is in one of the bedrooms. However, both fireplaces are for decoration only to avoid fire hazards. We have good adjustable heating system in each room.

★The house is inside Olympic National Park. It is very convenient to access all the hiking trails. Hurricane Ridge, Hoh Rain Forest and pacific ocean beaches are also a short drive from the house.
★15 miles to Port Angeles for restaurants, grocery etc.
★The Olympic Discovery Trail, Spruce Railroad Trail, Marymere Falls, the Elwah Restoration project, all very close to our cabin.

★Stairs★
As a lakefront house, there are about 30 steps of stairs from the parking spot to the entrance of the house. To save a few steps carrying luggage, you can enter the door on the first floor and come up to the 2nd floor bedroom to open the sliding door and move the luggages inside from the sliding door. We have installed anti-slip stripes on the stairs but please watch out while you climb up and down the stairs.

The bathroom is downstairs and please use extra caution when going down to bathroom from an upstairs bedroom.

★Pets★
We do allow pets during your stay with us. There is a $100 per pet one-time fee. You must notify us at least 1 day before arrival and pay the pet fee prior to getting the lockbox code.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Blue Haven on Lake Sutherland! The house served all of our needs as a gateway to long hiking adventures in Olympic National Park each day. Our host was fast and responsive to any inquiries and the check-in/check-out process was hassle-free. We loved being right on the lake and spent our mornings with coffee on the dock and evenings rowing around the cove. Hope to venture back one day!

The location was excellent but way over priced for what we experienced. The facility was not very clean. About half of the outside lights did not work which made it difficult to use the upper level of stairs. The day we wanted to use the grill we discovered the tank was empty. Was able to contact someone quickly but told to change tanks with the fire pit on the deck. It was empty as well. For what we paid a night there should have been full tanks there and spare tanks as well. It took over 4 hours to get filled tanks so we never got to use the grill. There were fishing rods there but one did not have any fishing line in it and the lures were pretty generic. Everything just seemed old and worn out. Not what the pictures showed. The kayaks were nice! Attached are some pictures of the uncleanliness. The picture of the rug in the bathroom makes it look better than it actually was. You could barely tell that there were yellow and white stripes. It all looked dingy. So, not what we expected especially for the price we paid. Would not recommend. However, the people we dealt with were very friendly and helpful!

We had an amazing time at Blue Haven before and after our micro-wedding! Blue Haven was the perfect place to get ready for the ceremony, spend time with family, and have a peaceful couple days recovering from the event! It’s such a beautiful place and we highly recommend it!

We had perfect weather so were able to enjoy our favorite part of the house—the outside deck and water! Hiked to the waterfall at nearby Crescent Lake, had pancakes at the lodge and a fun meal at Granny’s Cafe. It helped to have water shoes for using the kayaks.
