Port Angeles, Washington
Our home is on a corner lot, 5 minutes from the city center. Front yard deck has a water view of the Straits of Juan de Fuca. We are two blocks from the Discovery Trial, 4 minutes from Ediz Hook. (The Spit) 3 minutes from the boat heaven ( for all you fishing people) and 10 minutes from the entrance to Olympic National Park. You have your own entrance. There are two bedrooms with a queen size bed in each. Living room has a Big screen TV, Cable and WIFI. Full Kitchen. One bathroom with tub/shower.
Your stay is on our home, but only a part of it. From the South end of the kitchen, to the North end of the living room. The south end has now been changed into a suite for a VR. It can be booked together (if available) or separate. If booked by other guests they may be able to hear you. Please be respectful of your noise. The north end is our private area. All have their own entrances. Please ask more questions especially if wanting to book the Hutchison Ranger House and the Hutchison Ranger suite together.
Nice comfortable home. Air conditioner seemed to have issues keeping place cool. A little dusty in several places. For example, under the beds and on the ceiling fan when turned on, chunks of dust fell off onto possessions. Food crumbs noticeable on floor when we checked in. Nice to have fridge water dispenser. Well stocked kitchen.
2 night stay in august, great location for home base. 10 mins to hurricane ridge, 101 is right there, an hour to sol duc, 25 mins to Sequim lavender fields. Right at Black ball ferry 10 minutes or less. House is just as described, very clean, kitchen is stalked with many things you’d have at home for use. Comfy living room , big tv and fire stick, good shower, nice towels and bed linens . Bedrooms are a bit tightly spaced with firm mattresses . I would stay again and recommend. We saw 2 deer on property at arrival, and in neighborhood during the stay. The outside deck is also very nice to have.
Cozy, convenient and clean as a whistle. Great location and nice extras. Your own home away from home. Only downside was the TV system. Couldn’t find a news channel, but maybe that was a good thing for a few days. Highly recommend and plan to return.
This was a fantastic place to stay. Loved the welcome basket, the stocked kitchen, the comfy beds, the deck to watch the boats. Cozy, comfortable and super responsive hosts (our daughter locked the keys in the house after we had been there only 10 minutes) and someone was magically there in about 5 minutes to open the door. Truly appreciated that. The kids loved the books and board games and all of the decorations and paintings around the house were so interesting. Great location to visit Olympic National Park and visit Port Angeles. Can't wait to come back some day!! Thank you so much to the wonderful hosts!
Great place to stay while exploring the Olympic national park. Excellent communications with the host.
My friend and i spent 4 nights and enjoyed the books, photos, folk-lore, and family history of the home. Kitchen is well-appointed and served all our needs. Access to Olympic NP and the waterfront commercial area of Port Angeles is excellent. You will enjoy your stay!
This property was in a great spot in Port Angeles... close to Ediz Hook. It's very clean with a great kitchen. Unfortunately for us, we're sensitive to smells and the bedding and towels were heavily scented. I hope the owner can correct this. The beds are very soft.
The home and the host were delightful. The stay made for a lovely vacation.
The VRBO was perfect!
We highly recommend this property. Very nice and homey. The hosts are very attentive to every detail. We will definitely be back
Property worked great!
Very cozy home and Shireen and Skip are wonderful hosts! The location was perfect for visiting some of the best that Washington has to offer, especially Olympia National Park. Will recommend this to friends and we would stay there again.
The location was perfect for he’s of access into Olympic NP. The beds were comfortable. The space was perfect for everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, and everything we needed to cook meals. And there was a lovely deck to enjoy the evenings.
My daughter and I are touring the Pacific Northwest as part of her college graduation gift. We're about halfway through and she's said multiple times this place was her favorite. The location is nice and safe. The hosts were responsive.
Wonderfully quiet and relaxing. Everything you need to cook or bbq hope to stay again
Visited my son and his wife for a week. The house was perfect and had everything we needed, and right down the street from my son's home. Really enjoyed our stay.
House location was great. We were able to access Olympic National Park, Canada and had a great time at the Crab Fest in Port Angeles. House was equipped with everything we needed and felt like we were staying in someone's home. :)
This beautiful 2 bedroom had many family mementos of the history of our hosts along with the Olympic Peninsula. Tasteful, nicely decorated, fully stocked updated kitchen and beautiful deck with a view of the water. Would love to revisit.
Comfortable base of operations for our trips into the park. Would recommend.
We had a great week-long stay at the Hutchinson House! What a well-stocked place with all the amenities to make it feel like home. Shireen and Skip are great, friendly people, and we hope to stay at the Hutchinson house again next time we visit this area.
We loved our stay at this property and in Port Angeles. Clean well-appointed home with friendly, responsive owners. Lots to do in the area, great for Olympic. Nice touches to make you feel welcome and at home.
We have stayed in many vacation properties over the years. This little place has a lot of charm, with historic family memorabilia reflective of the region. As a picky traveler, I was particularly impressed with the kitchen amenities. This place had everything from spices and baggies to a full size coffee maker including filters and coffee. We've arrived at so many properties only to find a tiny coffee maker and rarely any filters, and almost never any coffee. Comfy living room furniture made this an affordable place we will return to.
Neat spot in a working town on the peninsula easy access to the Olympic park and points on the sound
This house was a perfect little oasis and a second home for us. We felt comfortable and safe and the house had lots of little touches we liked. The hosts had great recommendations for food and visits and we enjoyed talking with them. Also the cookies were fantastic.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. We loved the homemade cookies and personal touches. Shireen was wonderful with communication and the check in/out process was very easy. A great location for all things Port Angeles! Thank you so much!
