Located just behind our property are the forested trails of Ashford County Park!brbrLayla is an authentic 1959 Shasta travel trailer that has been lovingly maintained over the years.brA California Girl with beachy vibes, we found her way down in southern California back in 2022, fell in love, and towed her back up north! Head inside and you'll be transported back to a simpler time, with warm wood panelled walls, fun vintage trailer decor, and everything you need for a comfy, fun, Glamping experience!brbrIn case you're not familiar with the term Glamping, so you know what to expect: It means Glamorous Camping! There are more comforts than camping in a tent, but a bit less than staying in a hotel room. It's a fun, adventurous experience that gets you in touch with the outdoors with some comfort and style, and for a lower price than a hotel or cabin! I.e, you'll have a soft comfy bed and stove for preparing meals, but no WiFi, air conditioning, tv, etc. There is a private shower and toilet, but they are outhouse-style and are open to the outdoors, so bugs are always a possibility.brOur vintage trailers are lovingly maintained, but they are still decades old, which means they may have some quirks! Are you still ready for a unique travel experience in a vintage trailer under the stars Cool! Read on :)brbrThe bed features soft cotton sheets and a down comforter with duvet cover and 4 soft pillows. Note that the bed is a cozy fit for two average-sized adults, but that's part of the fun!brbrThe kitchenette has everything you need to prepare simple meals. The sink has running potable water (cold only!), and we supply pots and pans to use for cooking. Cook yourself a delicious meal on the 3-burner gas stove! A mini-fridge keeps your food cool, and we of course also supply silverware, plates, bowls, glasses, and mugs. To get you going in the morning, there is fresh-ground coffee and a French Press coffee maker, with sugar, creamer, tea, and cocoa as well.brbrOutside the trailer, there is a sturdy picnic table surrounded by glowing string lights so you can enjoy meals or board games surrounded by fresh air. A propane fire pit with two lounge chairs is a great place to unwind with a refreshment and enjoy the glow of a warm fire under the stars! A boho hammock swings beneath the limb of the old cherry tree, so get ready to relax and unwind :)brbrNext to the trailer is your private glamping bathroom setup, with cedar outbuildings housing a hot shower (featuring luxury Beekman 1802 body wash, shampoo, and conditioner), and a full flush toilet.brbrYou will also have access to our property's hot tub, in a private setting in the garden behind our main lodge! (Note that it's a bit of a walk, but it's worth it!) The hot tub is in a beautiful wooden gazebo for privacy, and features string lights on an adjustable dimmer. Please note that the hot tub is shared with other guests of Ashford Lodge on a first-come-first-served basis; we ask that guests limit their soaks to an hour to give everyone time to enjoy.brbrYou can also use the gas BBQ and picnic table in our separate BBQ gazebo behind the main lodge. Bring your own steaks or burgers and have yourself a cookout! The BBQ gazebo is also a great place to connect to our lodge's WiFi if you need it.brbrOr, if you'd rather someone else does the cooking for you, just walk right next door to BaseCamp Bar and Grill for burgers, pizzas, and a large craft beer selection!brbrOur property backs right up to Ashford County park with its network of hiking trails (you might see the occasional person walking along the trail that goes behind the camper, but a row of trees provides privacy). Pour yourself a cup of coffee, find the gap in the trees right behind the trailer that leads to the trails, and take a morning stroll!brbrNote that our WiFi doesn't currently reach all the way out to the trailers, and cell service is limited on our property (T-Mobile works well, but others are a bit weak). If you need WiFi, feel free to come sit in the guest gazebo behind our guest house; we will provide WiFi login info upon check-in.brbrIf you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send us a message!

Darla the Glamping Trailer at Ashford Lodge

Ashford, Washington, United States

Darla is an all-original 1955 travel trailer, tucked in a private camping spot on our beautiful property only 6 miles from Mt. Rainier National Park!brbrFeaturing vintage decor, kitchenette, string lights, picnic table, gas fire pit, lounge chairs, hammock, separate bathroom trailer with hot shower, and access to the lodge hot tub!brbrLocated at the edge of the town of Ashford and walking distance to restaurants and shops, this is the perfect base for all of your Mt. Rainier adventures!brbrDarla is tucked in the back of our property that we call the Ashford Lodge, an old bed and breakfast that we bought in early 2021 and have been fixing up to turn it into a fun mountain retreat!brbrYou'll have a whole back section of our property to yourself. The trailer is secluded and surrounded by tall trees on three sides, with a large south-facing lawn out the front that lets in sunshine, and a gorgeous old-growth maple tree providing afternoon shade.brbrDarla was built in 1955, and she looks almost exactly like she did when she rolled off the assembly line! Head inside, and you'll instantly be transported back in time, with wood-paneled walls, cozy lighting, ice box, and vintage dinette.brbrThe bed features warm flannel sheets and a down comforter with plaid duvet cover and 4 soft pillows. Note that the bed is only a bit larger than a twin, so it's a cozy fit for two average-sized adults, but that's part of the fun!brbrThe kitchenette has everything you need to prepare simple meals. The sink has running potable water (cold only!), and we supply pots and pans to use for cooking. The kitchen stove has 3 propane burners, and we supply pots and pans for cooking a hot meal! We of course also supply silverware, plates, bowls, glasses, and mugs. To get you going in the morning, there is fresh-ground coffee and a French Press coffee maker, with sugar, creamer and tea as well.brbrThe kitchenette has an icebox for keeping food cool (it's not a fridge, it needs ice!) You can buy a block of ice from Ashford Grocery right across the street to keep your food cool; as the ice melts it will simply drain out the back. Just a heads up that the icebox is quite small, so if you want to keep a lot of food cool you may want to bring a separate cooler!brbrOutside the trailer, there is a sturdy picnic table for enjoying meals or card games surrounded by fresh air. You can also relax in the hammock hung between two spruce trees, and enjoy your morning coffee in the lounge chairs overlooking the lawn and maple tree!brbrThere is also a propane fire table so you can stay cozy at night and get your s'mores fix! The propane fire allows you to have an outdoor fire even during summer burn bans, and doesn't require firewood.brbrBehind the trailer is our custom-made glamping bathroom! Artfully created with reclaimed wood, windows, and rustic whimsical touches, it features a hot shower, flush toilet, and sink with hot water. We provide high-end Beekman 1802 bath products (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash), as well as all towels.brbrYou will also have access to our property's hot tub, in a private setting in the garden behind our guest house! The hot tub is in a beautiful wooden gazebo for privacy, and features string lights on an adjustable dimmer. The hot tub is shared with our two other guest units and is first-come-first-served; we ask that guests limit their soaks to an hour to give everyone time to enjoy.brbrYou can also use the gas BBQ and picnic table in our separate BBQ gazebo behind the guest house. Bring your own steaks or burgers and have yourself a cookout!brbrOr, if you'd rather someone else does the cooking for you, just walk right next door to BaseCamp Bar and Grill for burgers, pizzas, and a large craft beer selection. They close at 7, so get there early!brbrOur property backs right up to Ashford County park with its network of hiking trails (you might see the occasional person walking along the trail that goes behind the camper, but a row of cedar trees provides ample privacy). Find the gap in the trees and take a morning stroll along the trails yourself!brbrNote that our WiFi doesn't currently reach all the way out to the trailer, and cell service is limited on our property (T-Mobile works well, but others are a bit weak). If you need WiFi, feel free to come sit in the guest gazebo behind our guest house; we will provide WiFi login info upon check-in.brbrIf you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send us a message!
