We didn't leave the property for three days! brbrEverything was fabulous! We loved it here and want you to know how special of a place you have. Thank you again and please know, this is a time my family and I will never forget! brbrWe had lovely stay in the Vermont Treehouse, one of the most architecturally fascinating houses I've seen anywhere in the world. All the amenities of your actual home are here, washing machine and dryer with detergent, dishwasher with soap, lots of towels, etc. rather than some places I've stayed that have amenities but no means to use them. Every traveller will appreciate the whimsy of this place, from the spiral staircase to the top floor, to the window seat up above. I highly recommend a visit, both for the serious skier and the casual vacationer who wants to visit the true Vermont.....Sandy, the owner, is just down the road and was easy to reach with our concerns (we had a fairly late arrival time and then ended up coming a day late). Also the wifi was blazing fast, fast enough to play online games. brbr'What an amazing time we've had. Going to sleep and waking up to the gorge outside was one of the many reasons to love this house. brbrWhat a beautiful, hidden gem you have here! The Treehouse had everything we especially peace, quiet, and rest in beautiful surroundings. The hot tub provides the perfect ending to a day of rigorous hiking up Hunger Mountain. You have created a warm, inviting, and unique experience in the heart of skiing and hiking country. The Treehouse is quite a treasure. brbr Going to sleep and waking up to the gorge outside was one of the many reasons to love this house. We feel refreshed and recalibrated and will sing the praises of Johnson, Vt. back in NYC! Thank you for providing such a unique and enchanting home! brbrMy wife and I hd a wonderful stay here, and invited a couple of friends to join us. We found everything we needed to cook meals between the grocery store in Johnson and the appliances and utensils right here in the kitchen. The hot tub was a pleasant reprieve after a long day skiing the slopes of Stowe and the roads were plowed swiftly after a night's worth of snowfall. We look forward to our next stay here!brbr We had an amazing time at The Treehouse! Dennis and Sandy were so helpful (it was snowing and we couldn't make it up the hill-they did everything they could to solve our problem). We snowboarded on Sunday, hiked the trails on Monday, and spent a day/night in Burlington, and recommend all those things. The hot tub was great after being out in the cold all day. The house had everything we needed. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in Vermont. brbrThank you for providing the perfect place to enjoy a winter retreat in Vermont - its warm and cozy atmosphere, fantastic forest views in all directions, nearby walking trails and access to nearby towns and ski slopes. After one longish walk in snow shoes, returning home to the hot tub was especially relaxing. We will return to Australia happy, very satisfied, and rested. If we could, we would make this trip our annual retreat. br

Charming Vermont Home in Johnson - Near Smugglers' Notch & Stowe

Johnson, Vermont, United States

Experience Real Vermont in Johnson. Small yoga studio included. brbrWelcome to our beautiful Johnson home — a peaceful, light-filled retreat just one mile from downtown and within walking distance of a beloved local swimming hole. If you’re looking to experience authentic Vermont living rather than a cookie-cutter rental, you’ll feel right at home here.brbrThe spacious primary bedroom features a king bed for a truly restful night. Two bathrooms offer both a shower and a bathtub. The home is equipped with heating and air conditioning for year-round comfort, plus practical touches like a hair dryer. It has office space with a spare monitor, and even a small yoga studio.brbrThis is our first time offering the property as a rental, and we’ve reduced pricing accordingly. We are experienced hosts, but this home works best for independent guests who are comfortable in a true Vermont setting. This is our primary home when we're not renting. We find it to be magical and hope you do too.brbrWhat to Know Before Bookingbr- Winter access: 4WD or AWD with proper winter tires (all seasons may not always be enough) in winter is required. Plowing follows a rural route schedule and may not occur until after a storm has passed completely, which may be more than a day. We have always been able to come and go as we please during any storm with AWD and studded snow tires. (Without the right car, you may find yourself walking up the slippery driveway at your own risk.)br- Driveway: Some guests find the driveway steep or a bit tricky even in summer. Parking at the bottom and walking up is always an option.br- Heating: The home uses a single direct-vent heater with gravity flow to the rest of the house. It works well, but some rooms may feel cooler or draftier during deep winter.br- Propane: For stays longer than one week, guests are asked to monitor and communicate propane levels.br- Porch & snow: Guests are responsible for shoveling the porch area. The porch gate is sturdy and may require a firm push to latch; we often leave it open.br- Roof: Due to the height and Vermont weather, roof snow cannot always be cleared immediately. Please avoid standing directly under the eaves during winter.br- Dogs: Dogs use the place year round so you will likely run into dog hair. Well-behaved dogs with references are welcome. The fenced yard is helpful but not guaranteed to contain all dogs. Pets must be under control outdoors and respectful of neighboring dogs.brbrIf you’re comfortable with a bit of rural character and appreciate fresh mountain air, quiet nights, and a truly local setting, this home offers a wonderful base for your stay in Johnson. NOTE: 2nd entrance off of porch is a room used for owner storage. No access. Owner or designee may access storage area or maintain grounds during stay. One camera monitors driveway, front porch and two front doors.
