Suitable for families with non-crawling infants and/or children aged 3+.brbrABOUT THE SPACEbrThe eco house is a separate 800-squre foot home accessed through a courtyard alongside the main house. Light and airy and featuring reclaimed wood, the house is constructed for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency with exceptional indoor air quality. The house features oak floors throughout, low VOC finishes, wood windows, salvage fir trim and cabinets throughout. brbrThe house has two bedrooms and master bath upstairs and a half bath downstairs. The house has a high efficiency heating/cooling system for year-round comfort. The space has a full kitchen, with new stainless appliances and granite countertops. Tea and coffee beans are provided. Also 3 of Portland's hip neighborhoods--The Beaumont, Alberta Arts, and Mississippi Avenue--are 15 minutes away. We're also on the east side of the city, where it's easy to hop on the freeway to the Columbia River Gorge, which is listed as a National Scenic Area. brbrWe are in walking distance is Noodle Flat, where many of Portland's Asian restaurants line Sandy Boulevard--and Otto's Wood-Fired Pizza packs 'em in nightly. A major grocery is 3 blocks away, as is the historic Fairley's Pharmacy where you can sit at the lunch counter from the 1920s and order malteds made on the old fashion green machines. Annie's Doughnuts is just around the corner, and their fresh French crullers with maple icing are well worth the stroll. And for those interested in meditation, Dharma Rain Zen Center is 10 minutes by car, as is the Grotto. brbrEspresso and croissants worthy of Portland's food culture are also 10 minutes by car over at Grand Central Bakery as is Black Bird, an excellent unpretentious wine bar. brbrOur neighborhood is safe to jog in and walk at night. The house is craftsman-style with modern and contemporary touches. Rent the whole house which includes 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a spacious and well-stocked kitchen, kitchenette in lower unit, large dining room, living room, laundry room and office. Enjoy the expansive porch and the many outdoor spaces. Plus two parking spaces.brbrBedrooms: This space offers 5 private bedrooms (one that has an en suite bathroom, two that share a bathroom on the upper level and two that share a bathroom on the lower level). All beds are queen-sized with luxurious linens. We also have rollaway bed available for an extra person and a pull-out couch for two extra people (extra charges if more than 10 people). No more than 13 guests can rent at one time. All bedrooms feature sustainable wood shelving, convenient USB ports and outlets on bedside tables, fast WIFI and keyless private entries to each room.brbrBathrooms: There are 2 full bathrooms on the 2nd floor and a half bathroom on the main floor.brbrKitchen/Kitchenette: On the main floor you'll have full use of the large kitchen with everything you need for meal prep. You can request the house cleaner focus on a certain area or not to touch certain items. The cost of this cleaning is is dependent on the cleanliness of the house and will be added on as an additional expense during or after your stay. The cost is $30 per hour and the cleaning will take anywhere between 2 and 4 hours. We request that guests vacate the premises during this cleaning to reduce covid-exposures. Our house cleaner will wear a mask during the cleaning.brbrPets:brWell-behaved dogs only are allowed. If you bring a pet into the house, you must indicate it in your reservation and pay the extra pet fee. We will have to assess a fine of $500 if we find out there is a pet that we do not know about. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Please ensure they will not bark or destroy furniture in the house if you leave. Please clean any excess dog hair yourselves. The path from the driveway is lined with automatic lights every night. Cozy warmth is provided by radiant heating in the exposed aggregate floor, and summers are air-conditioned. Every window looks out onto greenery. brbrThe windowseat with integral reading lights is a wall of glass, lined with pillows and a lace privacy drape. It measures 28 x 86 inches and can sleep one adullt. The kitchen, fully outfitted for your culinary dallying, has quartz composite counters and casement windows looking out onto a Belgian cobblestone patio. The bathroom, tiled floor to ceiling, includes an Italian style walk-in shower, and both ceiling and hand-held shower heads.
