Upcycled Oasis - McMinnville Couple Monthly Stay

McMinnville, Oregon, United States

Summary:brbrA private 1-bedroom cottage on a quiet lot in McMinnville, set up for solo travelers and couples staying a month or longer. Fenced yard, gated driveway, large deck under mature trees, mini-split heating and cooling. Walk or short drive to downtown McMinnville's Third Street wine and dining row. Sleeps two — designed for writers, semi-retired travelers, sabbatical stays, and wine country house hunters who want privacy without a full house. 30-night minimum.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrThis is a private 850 sq ft cottage on a quiet, fully-fenced lot in McMinnville — not a house, not a hotel room, but a small standalone space designed for one or two people who want a month of privacy in Oregon wine country. It's the right fit for: writers on a draft, creatives on a project, semi-retired travelers, couples doing a wine country month without needing space for visitors, pre-relocation singles testing McMinnville before buying, and anyone who finds a 4-bedroom rental wildly oversized for two people.brbrbrbrThe layout.brbr- Open-concept living room, dining area, and kitchen — all flowing togetherbrbr- One bedroom with a queen bedbrbr- A second small room with a daybed and a desk (good as a workspace or for occasional visitor)brbr- One full bathroom with tub/shower combobrbr- Foyer entry, fenced yard, large deckbrbrbrbrWorkspace.brbr- The daybed room doubles as a quiet office — desk under a window looking out into trees. For solo travelers it's the work room; for couples, it's where one of you can take a call without interrupting the other. Wifi is high speed, strong enough for video calls and remote work.brbrbrbrKitchen — read carefully.brbrThis is the most important detail to know before booking. The kitchen has a built-in oven, microwave, toaster, full-size refrigerator, and a two-burner hot plate instead of a traditional range. You can absolutely cook for a month here — bake, roast, simmer, sauté — but you cannot run four pots at once. Most solo travelers and couples find this completely workable; if you cook elaborate multi-pot meals nightly, this might frustrate you. All necessary cookware, knives, and dishes are provided.Heating and cooling.brbrbrbrMini-split heat pump units in both the living room and bedroom — modern, quiet, efficient. Heats well in winter, cools well in summer. The Willamette Valley sees both extremes and these handle them.brbrbrbrLaundry: in-unit washer/dryer. brbrbrbrThe deck and yard.brbrSpacious deck off the living area, looking into mature trees. Outdoor seating for morning coffee or evening reading. The yard is fully fenced with a gated driveway — your space is genuinely private, not visually shared with neighbors.brbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrGuests have full access to the entire cottage, the deck, and the fully fenced yard. The gated driveway provides secure on-site parking — close the gate behind you for full privacy. This is a self-contained property, not a room or unit attached to another home.brbrSelf check-in at 4 PM via smart lock. Code provided before arrival. Check-out at 10 AM, with flexibility for monthly guests when our schedule allows.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrUpcycled Oasis sits in a quiet residential neighborhood about 1.5 miles south of downtown McMinnville. The streets nearby are tree-lined with mature redwoods and small linear parks — genuinely walkable for daily exercise even if you'll drive for most errands.brbrbrbrDowntown McMinnville (Historic Third Street): 4-minute drive, or about a 30-minute walk on mostly flat streets. This is McMinnville's destination food and wine row — 20+ tasting rooms, several genuinely great restaurants, indie bookstore, vintage shops, and the McMenamins Hotel Oregon. For a solo writer or couple on a month, walking to Third Street for a morning coffee or evening meal becomes a regular ritual.brbrbrbrThe wine itself: McMinnville is at the geographic heart of the Willamette Valley AVA. Yamhill-Carlton, Dundee Hills, and Eola-Amity Hills AVAs all spread out from here — 200+ wineries within a 30-minute drive.brbrClose-by daily essentials:brbrbrbr- Geraldi's Authentic Deli (0.5 miles, ~12-min walk) — famous sandwiches, good for solo work-from-deli daysbrbr- Summon Coffee (3 min drive) — craft coffee and pastriesbrbr- Mario's Taqueria (3 min drive) — quick taco fixbrbr- Pura Vida Cocina, La Rambla (downtown) — for date nights or solo treat dinnersbrbr- Full-size grocery (Safeway, WinCo, Roth's, Harvest Fresh) within 5-10 minutesbrbr- Willamette Valley Medical Center: 10 minutesbrbr- Linfield University campus for walking, lectures, and eventsbrbrbrbrNotable nearby:brbr- Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum (home of the Spruce Goose): 10 minutesbrbr- Carlton (boutique tasting row): 20 minutesbrbr- Newberg (Allison Inn, more wineries): 20 minutesbrbrbrbrDay trips during your month:brbr- Oregon Coast: 60–75 minutesbrbr- Portland: 60 minutes northeastbrbr- Salem: 45 minutes southbrbr- Silver Falls State Park: 75 minutesbrbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrYou can do this stay without a car if you're willing to walk for some things (Third Street is 1.5 miles on mostly flat ground, and ride-shares work in McMinnville). But for a full month — grocery runs, day trips, exploring the wineries that aren't on Third Street — a car makes life much easier (Instacart is always an option). There are also plenty of wine car services for getting around. brbrbrbrParking: Secure on-site, gated driveway. Bring one vehicle and you're set; if you bring multiple, street parking applies and is generally available on this quiet street.brbrbrbrWalking and biking: The neighborhood is flat with sidewalks and mature trees. Pleasant for daily walks, runs, or bike rides.brbrWine country logistics: For serious tasting days, the area has reliable wine tour services (Black Tie, Grape Escape, EcoTours of Oregon) so you can taste without driving. Solo travelers — these tours are also a good way to meet people if you're doing a longer solo stay.brbrbrbrAir travel: Portland International (PDX) is about 75 minutes by car. Easy monthly arrival/departure.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbr✅ Kitchen features an oven and a two-burner hot plate rather than a traditional range.brbr✅ A starter supply of essentials like toilet paper and paper towels is provided initially.brbr✅ Street parking rules apply; please be mindful if bringing multiple vehicles.brbr✅ Property suited for solo travelers or couples looking for a quiet, intimate escape.brbr✅ This home is not pet friendly and unauthorized pets will result in a $500 fine.brbr✅ Utilities, trash, recycling: All included.brbr✅A vehicle is ideal for touring our lovely area. McMinnville's renowned Third Street is a mostly flat walk under 1.5 miles away.brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrWhether you need recommendations for hidden gems in our vibrant community or simply desire the uninterrupted enjoyment of your temporary home, know that a Cascadia Getaways vacation home is not just a place to stay; it's a testament to the warmth and authenticity of local hospitality.brbrbrbrWe desire that every detail reflects our love for our community and our genuine joy in welcoming you to our slice of paradise. Your journey into relaxation begins with us, but the experience is uniquely yours to savor.brbrbrbrIt's our goal never to miss an opportunity to communicate with you. Although there are a variety of pathways for interaction, we employ text messaging to communicate pre-arrival, during-stay, and departure information to our guests. A link to the property's digital guest book is texted to you before arrival and includes information to help make your stay seamless.brbrbrbrUnforgettable memories begin at a Cascadia Getaways vacation home.
