The home is 1.8 miles from Sunset Beach.brbrThe home is fully stocked with everything needed to feel at home. To keep costs to you down however, we do not have linen or cleaning services, so we request you leave the property ready for the next guest. The kitchen is fully stocked, and we do provide bath towels, beach towels and bed linens, but you must launder all prior to your departure. You may opt to bring your own linens as this saves time upon departure. Guests are asked to clean the home so it is ready for the next guest. This may not be appealing for folks wanting to stay for 2-3 nights as cleaning does take time! brbrThis is a family owned second home that we would enjoy sharing with you! (Please, no more than 4 human guests!)br(We block out one day between guests, and are continuing with the cleaning requirements we began when Covid-19 started.) brbrSunset Beach is a small, ocean-side town on the southernmost tip of NC, partially on the mainland and part on the barrier island. Until a few years ago, this island was accessible only by a one-lane barge bridge, but a causeway has now replaced this resulting in easier access. The old barge bridge is now a museum beneath the causeway.brbrIf you are seeking a quiet, peaceful place to visit, Sunset Beach is the spot, having one of North Carolina’s most beautiful and well-preserved beaches! The barrier island is both a turtle sanctuary for the endangered loggerhead turtles, and Bird Island is a protected part of the North Carolina Coastal Reserve, including nearly 1,500 acres of marsh, intertidal flats and, of course, the Atlantic Ocean beach! Visit the Kindred Spirit Mailbox while you are there! brbrFrom the 40th Street boardwalk, it is a gorgeous 2-mile walk to the Little River Inlet in South Carolina. Whether walking, jogging or biking, beach-goers may see many species of shoreline plant and animal life and seashells. And if you like seclusion, it is largely deserted during the winter months.brbrAccommodations include -- in the master bedroom, a bay window with a double (full-sized) bed, ceiling fan and private bath; the second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, ceiling fan, and access to the main bath which contains a washing machine and dryer. The living area has a new sofa, love seat, covered leather recliner, a dining table with 4 chairs, ceiling fan and views of intracoastal canal from the front windows and open porch off the living room. There is a flat-screen smart TV in the living area. (For those with small children, we do have a glass dining table and a glass coffee table.) We have cable TV and Wi-Fi. The kitchen has a skylight, and a small bay window over the sink. In the fall through spring (outside temperature permitting), you can relax on the large, screened-in porch, complete with couch, tables, chairs, light and ceiling fan. The porch has a vinyl window system, each window with 4 movable vinyl panels, allowing you to create your own indoor-outdoor atmosphere! There is a single carport located away from the house that contains a grill. The garage has beach umbrellas, coolers, beach chairs, and a couple of boogie boards for use at the beach. There are also 2 bicycles, a 10-speed and an adult trike, but these are for use in the neighborhood only. There are bike rentals (Julies Rentals) for the beach on the island. You will need to provide your own helmets.brbrHouse-trained pets are welcome, but we would like to know if you plan to bring your fur baby, as we have an additional pet addendum to be filled out. An additional, refundable pet fee will be charged ($350), which I will refund provided there are no pet damages.brbrThis is a non-smoking home, inside and out! brbrGuests must be over 25 years old to rent! brbrTo gain access to the beach, there is free parking on Main Street with beach boardwalk access each block. There is also a free city parking lot close to the pier, but the pier charges to use their lot.
