Parking is NOT an issue when you stay at our home - we are just yards from the beach access. Driveway can accommodate up to 4 vehicles.brbrRENTAL PROCESS: You rent directly from the Owners. (Many VRBO homes are managed by commercial property managers.) brbrPAYMENT PROCESS: The ONLY payment method is credit card via VRBO's secure payment process. Owners do not receive or store your credit card information. VRBO holds ALL funds from Owners until your vacation start date. Only the rental fee and cleaning fee are distributed to owners. VRBO collects/pays all applicable taxes. VRBO will assess a guest services fee and a payment processing fee. We purchased this home in 2008 (and owned a separate beach cottage on the island for many years before). We are always doing something to keep the property updated and fresh. This is our home away from home and we want you to enjoy Sunset Beach just like we do. The property is decent sized for a small family getaway (with grandparents, cousins, or friends).brbrThe home has an open floor plan on the main level and is tastefully furnished. The kitchen is well-equipped. There are many games and activities. Under the house you will find additional space to relax. Take the well-loved canoe or one of the three kayaks down the canal to the Intracoastal waterway. The screened porch provides a great venue for an afternoon board game or dining al fresco. Enjoy ocean, canal, and Intracoastal views from the decks and many windows. Sun decks on the main and upper levels provide alternative spots to the beach. Solid wood Adirondack chairs on all three levels. Public beach access is ~300 feet from the house. Guests may enjoy our fabulous 'beach buggy' for easy transport of beach essentials. A modest assortment of beach chairs also available for Guest use. Guests to provide linens - bath and beach towels + bedsheets. All beds have pillows, blankets, and quilts. Bathmats and kitchen towels provided.brbrWe welcome rentals from families and responsible adults over the age of 25 (the person who signs the rental agreement must be present on the property throughout the rental period). We welcome you as guests to our custom built home! Our house is one of the few houses on the island that features a pool. After a long day at the beach or instead of a day at the beach float around and relax in the pool. We are just a 2 minute walk to the beach access right at the end of our street. At the west end of Sunset Beach we are close to the end of the island with easy access to Bird Island, a reserve with pristine sandy white beaches, high natural dunes and more than 1200 acres of beautiful salt marsh and tidal creeks. Visit the sacred and peaceful Kindred Spirit mailbox there and leave a note in the journal or sit and read notes from others. Our 2700 square foot home features a reverse floor plan with the kitchen/living/dining area on the upper floor with hickory hardwood flooring throughout, tile bathrooms, quartz kitchen countertops and granite bathroom vanity countertops. Our custom wood paneled elevator stops at each floor and is just a few feet from the kitchen for the convenience of unloading groceries. Two decks on the front of the house have 12 rocking chairs (6 on each deck) to relax and enjoy the breeze. Two ceiling fans on the upper deck add to the relaxing breezes. Bed linens, bath mats and kitchen towels are provided but GUESTS MUST BRING BATH TOWELS AND BEACH TOWELS. Our home features 5 bedrooms with a ceiling fan and private full bathroom in each and an additional half bath. Hair dryers are provided in each bathroom. 2 bedrooms have king beds, 2 bedrooms have queen beds, and the 5th bedroom has 2 sets of custom built in bunk beds. The lower beds are larger: a queen and a full. The upper bunks are 1 twin and 1 extra long twin. The bunk bed room has a book light at each bed and a USB outlet at each bed with 2 charger ports. This bunk bed room would be comfortable for adults as well as children. There are 2 dressers and 4 drawers under the beds for storage along with a closet. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. All bedrooms are equipped with 4 USB outlets, two on each side of each bed for your convenience. No need to bring the square chargers just bring the cords. Two sets of washer/dryers allows for multiple families to complete wash simultaneously. One laundry room is in main hallway and the second laundry room is (large regular size stackable units) in master bedroom closet. The large kitchen has custom cabinetry, a touch faucet, a French door refrigerator with bottom pull out freezer drawer, an extra beverage refrigerator, a double oven with glass top stove, fully stocked cabinets, a large pantry, a Keurig coffee maker and regular coffee pot. The extra large dining table seats 12 with 3 extra bar stools at the counter peninsula. Lots of room for dining, playing games or cards or building puzzles. The high white washed cathedral ceilings in the great room and kitchen give an open coastal feel to the house. Unlimited hot water is always available for all 6 showers (5 inside and 1 outside) from 2 Rinnai tankless water heaters.
