Relax and recharge around a 200-acre lake Janaluska. Choose to paddle board, kayak or take a scenic walk around the lake. Bald eagles are often seen soaring across the water, so keep your eyes to the sky. Take a breathtaking ride along the Blue Ridge parkway which is part of the Appalachian mountain range. Haywood county boasts 46 scenic miles of some of the most beautiful parts of the parkway. Another adventure is the Cherokee Indian reservation which is 20-30 minutes from the cabin. All-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive would be required to access this home during snow or ice events. Snow tires and chains as well would be required in winter driving conditions. Of note, Fie Top Road is one of the best maintained roads in the county during winter driving events in order to allow skiers access to the ski area at top of the mountain.brbrJust a few minutes from Red Deer Lodge is the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area and Tube World (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel’s “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing.  Less than 15 minutes away in Waynesville you will find Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart, and various restaurants. Must be 25 or older to rent No Parties No Smoking No Exceptions CLEANING & LINEN SERVICE POLICY: The unit is provided with pillows, linens, blankets, towels, kitchen towels, comforters, hand towels & washcloths including extras located in closets. A cleaning service to clean the house and linens on your departure is included on your invoice. It is your responsibility for all debris, rubbish and discards are placed in plastic bags and transferred to the trash receptacles located next to the cabin, and soiled dishes and cooking utensils are washed and cleaned. Linens, blankets, pillows, bedspreads, comforters and towels are provided. It is standard for beds to be made for Guests arrival (except pull out couches not fully made) as part of the linen and cleaning service. The unit is provided with a starter set of toilet paper & paper towels. Managers do not guarantee that these extra items will always be available and guests may need to replenish their own paper goods, toiletries, & dish detergent, etc. CONDITION OF PROPERTY: Managers have, to the best of their ability, given an accurate description of the property and it’s condition. Guest understands that it is considered as reserved sight unseen. Our cleaning staff will have cleaned it before your occupancy. All electrical, plumbing and appliances should be in working order. The failures of operation of certain extra amenities, such as TVs, cable, or the Internet and WiFi service are not a basis for any refund. Manager will make every effort to have these items repaired but does not guarantee that they will be repaired during Guests occupancy. When you arrive, if you find that the house has not been cleaned to normal standards please notify the Manager immediately. We will do our best to have tradesmen attend to any issues. The Guest agrees to hold the Manager harmless from any liability for the condition of the house. Due to the nature of cabin properties, the stairs, decks and concrete are not always stable. Use at your own risk. CLEANING & REPAIRS: All units have cleaning included in the total rent. Please note that cleaning does not include dishes & cooking utensils. If additional cleaning is required after you leave, it will be charged to your credit card. Guest agrees to keep the house, furniture and furnishings in good order. Removing, adding or changing furniture without Manager’s written approval shall be deemed a material breach of this Rental Agreement, and is strictly prohibited. Guests are responsible for the cost of replacement of any damage to furniture or premises and replacement of missing items. Under no circumstances can any furnishing or linen be taken outside of the cabin. ENTRY OF PREMISES: With Guest’s permission, which is hereby given, Manager or Manager’s representative may enter the premises during reasonable daylight hours without securing prior permission from Guest, but shall give Guest notice of such entry immediately prior if possible and immediately thereafter. For inventory and maintenance purposes a property management employee of the Manager may need to enter the premises. The same permission procedure applies as above. In any emergency, Manager or Manager’s servicing agents may enter the premises at any time without permission of Guest for the purposes of making repairs to alleviate such emergency. ASSUMPTION OF RISK: No lifeguard may be on duty. Accordingly, persons using the pool or hot tub do so at their own risk and the Manager assumes no responsibility for accident or injury. No one should swim alone. Renters will hold the Managers harmless from any and all bodily injury and/or property damage incurred on the property arising out of Renters' negligent acts or omissions. CHILD PROOFING: Guest understands that no special efforts have been made to “childproof” this house, and accept the risk or harm to any children we allow on the property. These risks are not limited to, but include access to the deck, hot tub, fire pit, adjacent street, and cleaning supplies in the house. FURNITURE: All furniture must be returned to its original location on Guest's departure or an additional charge will be made. MISSING ITEMS - Renters will be charged for any missing items reasonably attributable to Renters and not returned after notification. The cleaning service performs an inventory/survey of the property after Guests depart and notifies the Manager of any missing items. Manager will notify guests in the event that items were inadvertently taken, and provide guests the opportunity to return the missing items. USE OF SECURITY CAMERAS - Renters understand and accept that the property is protected with outside security cameras. These cameras are used to protect the property from potential break-ins and theft. There are NO cameras inside the house. PERSONAL PROPERTY: Guest understands that any personal property of and used by Guest is not insured by Manager and Manager shall not be responsible for any lost, stolen or missing property of the Guest or property of Guest left after check out. PARTIES - This is not a party house. The Renter must be 25 years of age to book this Vacation Rental. Any special occasions such as weddings, receptions, family reunions or increase of occupants (guests not registered on registration form) must be disclosed at the time the reservation is made and is subject to Manager's advanced approval. Prom parties, fraternity or sorority parties and graduation parties are not allowed at any time. Adults cannot rent property on behalf of underage guests, no exception. NON-SMOKING - This is a NON SMOKING vacation rental. This INCLUDES THE BALCONY. Evidence of smoking, such as the smell of cigarette or cigar smoke inside the unit by the cleaning crew is sufficient basis to charge the renter for smoke cleanup and removal from carpeting, AC ducts & filters and furniture. Santa's Land Fun Park and Zoo is located between Maggie and Cherokee and well worth the 30 min drive. The park operates from mid-May thru the end of October. With it's colorful, Christmas-themed rides and attractions, your kids are sure to want to visit again and again. Maggie Valley is packed full of things to do....putt-putt, shopping, gem mining, elk tours (although you may not have to leave the downtown area to see them). Plenty of local dining options here without ever leaving the Valley. brbrbrA short 25 min drive will find you in quaint downtown Waynesville. Stroll the charming streets and browse the many dining and shopping options Waynesville has to offer. Checkout the town events schedule to see what's going on while you're in town. During the summer months, there's almost always live music at the park on Main Street. brbrCherokee is a 30 min drive over the mountain and let the adventure begin! Make the stop at Soco Falls on the way...well worth the few minutes it takes to make your way down to the viewing area. Mingo Falls is a must-see....a 200 ft waterfall on the Qualla Boundary. Then there's a small attraction called Harrah's Casino right in the heart of Cherokee if you're looking to take your chances. Cherokee is also an entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.brbrIf your stay is long enough to allow for a daytrip, we are only 1 1/2 hours from Dollywood and all the activities that Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge has to offer. brbrDowntown Asheville is 45 min away and if you're headed to the Biltmore, you're only a 40 min drive away.
