Because life can be unpredictable, we recommend considering the Travel Insurance offered by each booking platform. We’re not trying to add an extra expense — we’ve personally felt the disappointment of having to cancel a trip and not receiving a refund due to a policy’s terms. Secluded Log Cabin Near Hot Springs-Pet Friendly

Hot Springs, North Carolina, United States

Riverstone Cabin | 100-Year-Old Log Cabin on Private Acreage Near Hot SpringsbrbrThere are cabins… and then there are places with a story.brbrRiverstone is a truly authentic, 100+ year-old hand-hewn log cabin, carefully taken down from a quiet Madison County holler and lovingly rebuilt by local craftsmen. The well preserved timbers, aren’t decorative — they’re the real thing. This is Appalachian history you can feel the moment you step inside.brbrSet on a large, private piece of land with the French Broad River forming one boundary, Riverstone is for guests who crave space, quiet, and a slower rhythm. It’s not riverfront — but the river is yours to walk to and explore, just a five-minute stroll across the property.brbrIf you’re looking for a soulful and restorative retreat, you’ve found it.brbrThe CabinbrbrInside, the living space is warm and welcoming, centered around impressive original timbers and a propane fireplace perfect for cozy evenings. There’s Fiber Wi-Fi if you need to stay connected — but you may find you don’t want to.brbrThe kitchen is small but thoughtfully stocked with the basics for simple meals, plus a dining table that seats four. The full bathroom with shower is located on the main level, along with a sleeper sofa in the living room.brbrUp the spiral staircase — also built from hand-hewn beams — you’ll find the open loft bedroom. Though it’s an open design, the layout offers a sense of separation from the living space below.brbrThis cabin has been holding memories for over a century. It has a presence that’s hard to describe but easy to feel.brbrThe PropertybrbrStep onto the covered front porch with two rocking chairs and look out over an expansive hillside lawn stretching toward the railroad tracks and the French Broad River beyond. It’s peaceful in that deep, mountain way — wind in the trees, wide sky overhead, space to breathe.brbrThere’s a fire ring beside the cabin for evenings under the stars (bring camp chairs and pick up firewood in town).brbrThe French Broad River is part of the property and just a short walk away. You’ll find open field, wide riverbank, beautiful rocks, sandbars (especially after high water), and quiet places to fish or simply sit and listen to the water move.brbrThe railroad does pass through the property, and occasional trains still wind their way between Asheville and Knoxville. Long before highways, this route was part of the historic Drover’s Road — where merchants once walked their goods along the French Broad to market. The train is part of the valley’s living history.brbrThe AreabrbrRiverstone is less than five miles from the sweet mountain town of Hot Springs, NC — a place that feels like a hidden secret gem in every season.brbrSpend your days:brbr* Rafting or floating the French Broad with local outfittersbrbr* Hiking a section of the Appalachian Trailbrbr* Soaking in the mineral baths at the Hot Springs Resort & Spabrbr* Browsing local shops and grabbing a laid-back meal in townbrbr* Want to explore further Asheville is just over an hour away, and even Dollywood makes for a doable day trip.brbr* Then come back to Riverstone — where the pace slows again.brbrGood to KnowbrbrPet Friendly (pet fee applies — please include your dog in your reservation)brbrThe river access area may occasionally be shared with guests staying at our nearby cabin, Limestone. There is plenty of space, and interaction is entirely up to you.brbrOur family has a home on the property before you reach Riverstone, and Limestone is beyond it — but Riverstone remains very private and you cannot see the other homes from the cabin.brbrA lawn maintenance person may be on the property once a week during mowing season.brbrFirewood is not provided but can be purchased in Hot Springs.brbrRiverstone is for those who want space to wander, timbers with history, river walks at golden hour, and mornings that begin in a rocking chair with coffee and mountain air.brbrIf that sounds like you, we’d love to host you.

Magical Cabin - River Access - Minutes from Town

Hot Springs, North Carolina, United States

Come unwind in this truly unique and authentic log cabin in a very peaceful setting close by to the town of Hot Springs. This 100+ year old cabin was disassembled from an old holler in Madison County and lovingly rebuilt by local craftsmen. Step back in time while enjoying modern conveniences of Wifi, a hot tub and a fireplace. The beautiful French Broad River is a short walk (5 minutes) from your front door. Your own park like setting.brbrThe Limestone Cabin is a showcase of master craftmanship made from whole timbers and river rock. brbrStep onto the spacious front porch and into this magnificent cabin. The living room has cozy seating and a riverstone fireplace with gas firelogs for ease and comfort. A nice place to chill and connect or watch a little TV. The sofa is a sleeper sofa that can sleep an additional 2 people. brbrThe downstairs of the cabin is all one open space. The kitchen has all the basics that you need to prepare and make meals if you choose to eat in. There is also a gas grill on the porch for other cooking options. brbrThe bathroom on the main floor does have a shower, and we provide all linens for your stay.brbrUp the steps from the living room is the loft and new king bed. There is a half bath located in the loft as well. brbrBesides the beauty of the cabin itself, we think it has several awesome features:brbrThere is a hot tub on the back porch! Perfect way to start your day with a cup of coffee, or end the day after exploring our beautiful area. brbrThe large front porch that looks out at the French Broad River! Yall, the porch feels huge! Ideal spot for yoga, playing cards, hanging out, reading, or whatever you feel like doing on a front porch!brbrRiver Access!brbrThe French Broad River is a short walk from Limestone (5 minutes) and is part of this property. There is a large hayfield that is harvested a couple of times a year. When the hay is growing, we mow some paths into the field so guest can walk around. Depending on what your activity schedule is, you may never want to leave this spot. Perfect for a picnic, fishing, and watching the water roll by. For added enjoyment you may bring your favorite camp chairs or hammock setup. We have made a walkway down to the river on the far right of the field.brbrOther Notes:brbrThe cabin is managed by a local hosting team, Hot Springs Getaway.brbrThe railroad track does pass through, and there are trains that still travel through the mountains to and from Knoxville to Asheville maybe twice per day. In a time before there were cars and rail transport, the road to Limestone and beyond was called the Drover's Road, where merchants would walk their goods to and from markets along the French Broad. brbrThe cabin is located less than 5 miles to the sweet town of Hot Springs, NC. We think Hot Springs is a wonderland in all seasons. There are plenty of activities in the area to check out, such as rafting the French Broad with one of our local companies, hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail, taking a soak at the Hot Springs mineral baths at the Resort and Spa, visiting some of our great area shops and restaurants. If you venture a little over an hour away, you could explore Asheville or take a fun trip to Dollywood.brbrI think people who are wanting to find a getaway that is low key, in an amazing area, and abundant in nature will enjoy spending time at Limestone. It is a marvelous place of wonder, and a bit of an automatic reset to a more relaxed mindset.brbrThe businesses that are open in town include The Hot Springs Resort and Spa (call in advance to book your mineral soak appointment), Big Pillow Brewing with the Grey Eagle Taqueria food truck, Vinyl Pies with their delicious brick oven pizza, Bluff Mountain Outfitters, Hot Springs Rafting Company, Vaste Riviere Outpost, Artisun Coffee and Emporium, Sara Jo’s Gas Station, Smoky Mountain Diner, Dollar General, and a couple of beverage/small grocery stores. They would love your business. brbrMany trails are accessible around the area, and Hot Springs is a central location for adventures in Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and the Smokey Mountains National Park. Nearby attractions are the Biltmore Estate, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and more. brbr*Over the years, we’ve seen guests need to cancel for all kinds of understandable reasons.
