Stayed Jun 13, 2025Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay. So peaceful!! We loved the rain on the metal roof and all the frogs/toads chatting to each other at night. The fire-pit was great to relax at each evening and our three kids loved paddling the boat around the pond … it provided hours of entertainment. They enjoyed swimming, even with it being pretty cool weather and water! Wi-fi was super reliable and fast. Our boys want to make this an annual June trip!

Stayed Feb 23, 2025Perfect directions, easy access to Max Patch and our favorite places in Hot Springs. The cabin is beautiful, caters to those of us who need to disconnect and reconnect. We enjoyed snow upon our arrival and warm temps as the week moved along. My husband and I had a blast playing cards, games, and listening to music while dancing in the kitchen. You’ve thought of everything. Thank you!

Stayed Oct 7, 2023The cabin is strategically situated to maximize your appreciation of the natural wonders around. Large windows and a spacious deck provide panoramic views of lush forests, rolling hills, and, depending on the season, a tapestry of vibrant foliage or a blanket of pristine snow.

Stayed Sep 8, 2023It was clear from the first that a lot of thought had had gone into the siting, planning and building of the house. It is a great location—quiet, serene even. The house is well appointed. Very comfortable. It’s even a treat getting there—being able to see some of the beautiful parts of Western North Carolina. The 15 minute trip up to Max Patch is a bonus.

Stayed Oct 29, 2021We stayed in fall of 2021 as the leaves were changing. This is a beautiful, remote location to escape from the bustles of work and the internet. We enjoyed the forced disconnection and truly felt relaxed on the property. Because there is no internet, I recommended downloading a map of the area prior to coming like we did. Note that the winding mountain roads may be tough on some cars. I would recommend an AWD or 4x4 vehicle for this time of year. I estimate 4x4 may be necessary once snow begins to fall. Things that could have improved our stay include different beds as we both slept poorly while here, blinds for the windows, more kindling and dry wood indoors for the fire as the wood outside was wet, and a map of the area with suggested restaurants/things to do. Overall we really enjoyed the cabin, it's close proximity to Asheville, and the beautiful environment surrounding us. We recommend!

Stayed Oct 14, 2021I've wanted to go to Max Patch and we were looking for somewhere in the mountains to go to for fall break, so I was thrilled when I found this cabin. The cabin is immaculately clean, the property is beautiful, and there's great hiking close by. The views from the summit at Max Patch were even more amazing than I thought. Definitely don't miss out on that short hike if you stay here!
