There are two additional bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom in between. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs. There is a grill located off of the back balcony. All towels and linens provided. The house is stocked with a starter of toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue, garbage bags, and dishwashing detergent. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner all provided. There is a full-size washer and dryer located in the laundry room on the main level so you don't have to bring home a suitcase full of dirty laundry. All of the bedrooms have light reducing blinds and/or curtains, including the upstairs sky lights. Hint: Leave the upstairs sky light blinds open so you can star gaze right from your cozy bed! LaMotte Cottage has been in the LaMotte family since 1939. Originally built in 1917, it is now over 100 years old, with the history and charm that only comes with a century of good memories being created there. The front porch is great for watching the hummingbirds, and the large side deck can easily accommodate a pretty large group of friends. brbrNestled in the rhododendrons, and therefore shady and cool in the summer, the house is heated with a wood stove (with small space heaters only to supplement IF needed). In the summer, it is cooled — quite effectively — by open windows, electric fans and shady trees. brbrUpstairs, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower. One bedroom has a double bed, the second has a double and a single, and the third has two singles. Downstairs, the living room/dining room, kitchen, porch, deck, one bedroom, and one bathroom with the original claw foot bathtub (deep and luxurious, in an old school, really old school, way!). The kitchen is well-outfitted, with oven, stove, microwave, drip coffeemaker, etc. brbrLaMotte Cottage is the kind of place that invites long evenings of good conversation, jigsaw puzzles, and a glass of wine. It also has cable TV and high-speed WiFi. Montreat offers beautiful hiking trails, a lake, gift shops, and snack bar. In the summer canoes and paddle boats can be rented and there is a free community barn dance with live music on Friday nights! The living room has comfortable reclining sofa and chair with a gas fireplace, flat screen tv, and small computer station. This space leads to the front porch, with rocking chairs and year round views of Rattlesnake Mtn. brThe Johnson Carriage House is a second floor unit and is accessed from the private single garage. It's located on the corner of Montreat Rd. and Beech St. and is next to the property manager’s private home and also above their private garage.
