Mountain view cabin in Banner Elk near Sugar & Beech Mt

Banner Elk, North Carolina, United States

Rustic mountain-top Lincoln-log styled cabin with great mountain views on 17 acres less than three miles from down-town Banner Elk close to Beech and Sugar Mountain. Please note that the large pond was damaged during the storm, and the dam is scheduled to be repaired in the spring of 2026, and as soon as it is completed, the pond will be restocked. There is a smaller pond on the other side of the bridge which has small fish.br brThis ten room SMOKE-FREE cabin includes four bedroom, two full bathrooms and is Lincoln Log style. The cabin is anything but rustic as the kitchen appliances are new, has internet access as well as free Wi-Fi. You can feel your blood pressure start to drop as you drive up the winding private landscaped driveway. We overlook the backside of Beech Mountain Ski resort and are only seven miles from the base of Sugar Mountain. The cabin sits is nestled on 17 secluded acres on top a mountain which overlooks a valley and horse pasture. A stream runs thru the property and has a pond with a dock. The house is near trout streams for the fly fishing enthusiast. If you don’t fish, relax in the magnificent sunroom and enjoy the panoramic mountain view, or enjoy sitting on the covered front porch in the rocking chairs and enjoy the mountain view while watching the hummingbirds, deer, turkey and other wildlife. brbrAll of your guests will enjoy their privacy as the cabin has 2200 square feet of covered living area, ten rooms and comfortably sleeps eight. There is a bedroom on the ground floor which has a queen size bed. Upstairs, there are two master bedrooms with king size beds while the fourth has a trundle bed. It is perfect retreat to comfortably accommodate two families. There is a full bathroom on each floor. When the weather is cool, sit in the living room, enjoy the wood burning fireplace and toast marshmallows or sit in the sunroom and watch the colors of autumn unfold. There is a cabinet in the sunroom which is filled with board games, and there is a dollhouse which will delight the younger members of your group.brbrThis is a perfect place for a “Workcation” as there is free WiFi, and two different areas where you can work but still enjoy the view. We do have an “extender” to enhance cell reception. br brEscape the heat as this cabin is 4200 ft. above sea level and located in Banner Elk, which has the highest elevation of any city in the Southeast. We built this cabin to escape from the south Florida heat. The sunroom and each bedroom has an overhead fan, and all of the windows have screens. We sleep with the windows open in the summer (but sometimes have to close them as it gets so cool. In the fall, the temperature starts to drop but not to worry as there is baseboard heat, and you can set the thermostat in each room to your liking. brbrThere are lots of activities nearby including rafting, canoeing, snow skiing, fishing, rock climbing, zip lining, mountain biking, gem mining, and hiking. Pick blueberries and blackberries in season or pick apples or pears from the fruit trees on this unique property. Modern Farmhouse in Heart of Valle Crucis

Banner Elk, North Carolina, United States

We welcome guests to enjoy the beauty of the North Carolina mountains from our newly built farmhouse set on a hillside in the heart of historic Valle Crucis. The house, which was designed by the architects from the HGTV show “Hometown,” can accommodate 8 guests with a maximum of 6 adults in 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. The 4th bedroom is a small “kids room” with twin beds. There’s a main level master suite with private bath and walk-in shower. A modern kitchen and open concept living space is inviting for friends and family to gather. We invite you to visit!brbrWe are proud our home that was completed in August, 2019. We hope to spend many vacations here with our four year old, Tessa, as we visit family. For Catherine, she is coming home when she drives in Valle Crucis. Her parents have been here for almost 45 years and still live in the home she grew up in at the top of the hill. So this is a special place for us. We hope to host families and groups of friends who enjoy the mountains, appreciate time together and who will treat our home as their own. brbrNO SMOKING: We do not allow smoking inside or around the house. We also do not allow any pets inside the house. brbrEVENTS: There are no events at our home or on the property unless approved in wiring by prior to booking. brbrSituated in the heart of Valle Crucis, we are 1.5 miles from the original Mast General Store, and Mast Store Annex & Candy Barrel. Over Yonder restaurant, and the beautiful Valle Crucis Community Park, which holds Music in the Valle on Fridays in summer and fall, is also 1.5 miles away. Although you are visiting the mountains, it’s a fairly easy drive to our home, since we are located in the valley and not up a steep mountain road. This is most helpful for people who are not used to driving in the winter snow.brbrBanner Elk is 6.5 miles up a curvy road. Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain Ski Resorts are both just outside of Banner Elk. Boone is 10 miles away where Appalachian State University is located. Tweetsie Railroad amusement park is 13 miles away, and beautiful Blowing Rock is 16 miles away. And you can jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway from several different spots around the area. Grandfather Mountain is a must-see that is also nearby. brbrBut you really might not want to leave Valle Crucis! Except to get groceries and gas...you'll need to drive into Boone for those. brbrThere are nearby hiking trails above the Valle Crucis Conference Center that are open to the public.brbrWe also have a Smart TV with access to Netflix and lots of games and books. You’re welcome to login to your own Hulu, DirecTV or other streaming services that you subscribe to (we do not provide access to those). We provide a gas grill for your use. brbrWe look forward to renting our home to mature & responsible adults. This is our well-cared for family vacation home. If you’re looking for a house to have a big party, this is not the place. But we'd love to host you if you want a beautiful home in the most beautiful spot we know!
