Heart of Woodstock — Unique Arts-and-Crafts Home: Outdoor Room and Heated Pool!

Woodstock, New York, United States

Picture yourself in an Arts-and-Crafts-style home, on 3.3 acres, just a short walk from Woodstock’s Village Green. We've owned it since 2002 and listed it on VRBO in 2019 for the first time. Your getaway begins in this Woodstock Festival-era 3-bedroom, 2-bath home offering many truly unique qualities. Relax by the heated pool (during the warm months), surrounded by mature trees. Enjoy the “weather-resistant” outdoor room: a spectacular, covered deck featuring a full fireplace. Watch the meandering stream that flows past the yard. Stretch out on one of the sofas in the one-of-a-kind, stone living room. You’ll be transported: We’re just 100 miles—a two-hour drive—from NYC.brbrSee why our guests write: You know it was a great trip when you talk about when you can return!brbrWe'll do our best to accommodate early check-ins and late departures, but it always depends on our being able to properly turnover the house from the previous guests and next guests.brbrPlease note: Parties and events are not permitted. There are many other homes in the area that might be more suitable for you if that's what you're looking for. We strive to be good neighbors.brbrInside: Everything is on one floor! (There are three steps to get to the living room.) This architecturally unique home offers many distinctive touches with continuous windows connecting each room. The stone room was formerly the neighborhood icehouse and was converted to a living room when the home was built in the late ‘60s. All of the bedrooms feature floor-to-ceiling Hunter Douglas window shades.brbrThe main bedroom has a queen-size Thos. Moser bed and boasts two sliding doors. One leads you right to the covered outdoor room. The other opens on the deck and overlooks the stream. The room is appointed with other Thos. Moser furniture, a 43 TV, and a one-of-a-kind giant, framed poster of a Vargas girl. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower.brbrThe other two bedrooms each feature super-comfy, queen-size Pottery Barn beds, and a shared bath, with stall shower.brbrThe open kitchen has Bosch appliances and a grand counter with bar stools, or for serving meals buffet-style. The adjoining dining room offers an 8-seat dining table.brbrThe extra-high-ceilinged living room features ultra-modern furniture, including two sofas, an enormous lounge chair with ottoman, and two plush swivel chairs, all oriented towards the 43” TV. A leather bench is positioned in front of the wood-burning stone fireplace. A ceiling fan is also there for your comfort.brbr(Note: The house does NOT have central A/C. There is a large wall unit in the hallway, fans in each bedroom, and a ceiling fan in the living room.)brbrOutside: The covered outdoor room, measuring 18’ x 18’, features ultra-comfortable furniture from Restoration Hardware, an 8-seat farm table for outdoor eating, and a ceiling fan. You’ll want to use the room’s full-size wood-burning fireplace while you’re enjoying a glass of wine in the early evening. The 360° views include the pool, the stream, the woods and, of course, the house.brbrAn attached, uncovered deck includes a picnic table and gas grill for your use.brbrThe 18’ x 36’ heated pool features a custom stone patio and garden. (Hummingbirds love to visit the honeysuckle.) There are six lounge chairs, four additional chairs, and a serving table. (Note: The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through mid-September.)brbrThere's a basketball hoop on the driveway, suitable for half court play.brbrWoodstock: The town offers everything you’d want for a getaway—an eventful nightlife with fine dining, unique bars with craft cocktails and local beers, multiple concert venues offering everything from alternative to rock to blues, jazz and classical programs, a movie theater with the latest indie and foreign films, and more. There’s plenty of shopping plus casual eateries for breakfast or lunch.brbrThe annual Woodstock Film Festival is held every October, with well over 100 independent films and plenty of celebrities. Speaking of stars, you won’t believe how bright the sky gets at night! And, of course, the Catskills are known for its great fall foliage season.brbrNearby: There are great walks within minutes of town. Within a half hour’s drive are other towns to visit including Rhinebeck, with great shopping and dining, across the scenic Rhinecliff Bridge that spans the Hudson River. Roughly 45-minutes away: Hudson, with dozens of antique stores and fine restaurants; Red Hook for apple, berry and pumpkin picking; and Hunter or Belleayre for skiing.brbrLiving in the woods: Our home, as is all of Wood-stock, is in a woodsy area. Occasional wildlife and insects may be on the property.brbr(Note: Rentals cannot exceed two weeks without owners' consent. Please inquire. Guests are allowed to bring a small dog, but only with prior approval of owner.)

LIVE IN NATURE - WALK TO TOWN- CHILDREN LOVE US- SIT BY THE CAMP FIRE

Woodstock, New York, United States

The Pike Lane Cabin is nestled in the woods situated on seven acres of quiet natural beauty yet minutes waking distance down the shaded lane to the center of Woodstock. The property was once owned by the renowned water color painter, John Pike, where he taught his hugely popular painting classes in the space which is now our home and art studios. The land itself which has a stream, waterfall, ponds and mountain views is a perfect spot for plein air painters, and contemplation. The cabin is next door to our home separated by fence and thick wisteria with its own yard, screened porch with barbecue, and dining area as well a large fire pit for quiet night time marshmallows and wine.brbrA path leads to the upper property where our family is creating pollinating fields of grasses for the butterflies. brbrWhile staying at The Pike Lane Cabin, you will have all the quiet and privacy you desire in this magical woodland setting. We are an easy walk to the Town of Woodstock and just up the road from a great independent movie theater Upstate Films and Woodstock Pizza Theater (the best pizza in the area!). Legendary Woodstock NY is the perfect getaway town, just 1 1/2 hours North of New York City and is packed with shops, restaurants, cafe's, historic landmarks, hiking trails, swimming holes, bike rentals, yoga, music and theater venues including the Colony Cafe, galleries, waterfalls, street events, natural food store, Woodstock Art Museum, and The Byrdcliffe Artist Guild.brbrAt The Pike Lane Cabin, your privacy is priority. We are here for your needs and offer housekeeping upon your request. We then step back and allow you to enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful spot.brbrAbout us:brElizabeth and I are both artists as one of our several professions.brMy sons Manu and Darin both live here and help manage the property, and help make your arrival and stay easy.brDarin will be your primary contact.brbrWoodstock NY- Welcome to “America’s most famous small town.”brIronically, the 1969 music festival happened in Bethel 43 miles up the road. Nevertheless Woodstock pays great homage that legacy. This wonderful town is a hotbed of artisan delights - live, inspired art and culinary wonder.brMain street is the quintessential American small town; lovely shops, clapboard sided churches, an old-fashioned Village Green where residents and visitors gather for events, talk, people watching, and quench that thirst for that “good old days” feeling that modern day suburbia has paved over.brSurrounding this classic conventional small town exterior is the unsurpassed beauty of Mother Nature. Her mountains, streams, lakes and waterfalls release the creativity in all who reside here - from local tradespeople (stone masons and furniture makers) to the artists (screenwriters, composers, actors, printmakers, painters, photographers, filmmakers, poets, novelists) and of course our beloved musicians – from the not so famous, to the those whose recordings most likely shuffle in your iTunes, to just us regular folk who thrive being surrounded by all this amazing energy. It is this laid-back convergence, which gives Woodstock its individuality.brbrWoodstock is a place of learning and growth. Spend some time here and you’ll soon find yourself sitting in one of the restaurants in town, greeting friends as they come in and holding an impromptu salon on a hot topic of the day. But if you prefer to simply be left alone with your thoughts or to collect rocks from the stream in your back yard, this is place to do all of that.brbrLeave your car at home and take the Adirondack Trailways Bus to the village green in Woodstock. From there we are an easy walk. We also offer private off-street parking for up to two vehicles.brbrUnwind from the day, grab your favorite beverage and gather around our grand fire pit for a campfire, stargazing and smores!

When the weather is chilly, you can start a cozy fire in the fireplace with the flip of a switch, and snuggle on the sofa with your honey ~ or on the overstuffed armchair with a book (perhaps selected from the collection in the wall of built-in bookcases behind you). When the weather is warmer, use the remote control to open the screened skylights and let in fresh mountain breezes as well as melodic birdsong. On hot days, you can turn on the air conditioning and run the overhead ceiling fan to create your own cool breezes!brbrOPEN PLAN GREAT ROOM OVERLOOKS STREAM + WOODSbrCurtained hallways on either side of the stone fireplace lead to a 25’ wide light-filled open plan great room (kitchen/dining/lounge area) with a south-facing wall of glass that overlooks the private back lawn, conservation forest, and meandering year-round stream that flows right past your stone patio. You can relax on the slipcovered sofa or overstuffed armchair in the lounge area to admire the view and perhaps spot wildlife. Blue herons and ducks occasionally visit the stream, rabbits and chipmunks are frequent visitors, and across the stream you may spot a doe and her fawns. Or you can turn on the gas-fueled fire stove (also with the flip of a switch) and settle in by a cozy fire to watch a movie on your large flat-screen “smart TV.brbrFOOD PREPARATIONbrYour brand new cook’s kitchen is fully-equipped to prepare simple snacks or elaborate meals. It features a Caesarstone quartz countertop, walnut cabinets, a quiet Miele dishwasher, and new stainless steel appliances, including a Bosch gas cooktop and conventional/convection wall oven, as well as all new matching sets of dishware, bakeware, All-Clad stainless pots and pans, cutlery and utensils ~ there’s even a Kitchenaid stand mixer for baking! The adjoining dining table seats 4. brbrOr you can grill and dine al fresco on your bluestone patio with a Weber gas grill and outdoor table (also seats 4) under the trees and next to the stream.brbrSLEEPINGbrAt night, climb the quiet, carpeted stairs that rise behind the central chimney to the spacious loft-style primary bedroom, which overlooks the living room below while maintaining a sense of separation. Stretch out on the queen bed with 100% cotton luxury linens and hypoallergenic/down-alternative duvets and pillows under a large triangular-shaped window and skylights with views of the stream, woods and stars ~ or close the remote-controlled blackout shades to sleep late into the morning. With a skylight or window open, you can fall asleep to the soothing sound of the flowing brook. The bedroom also features a quiet AC, as well as a rocking chair sitting area.brbrOn the first floor (next to the bathroom) is a second, smaller bedroom with a full bed and 100% cotton luxury linens and hypoallergenic/down-alternative duvets and pillows, east-facing windows with views of the stream and woods (and blackout shades), and a remote-controlled AC.brbrBATH WITH RAINSHOWER + STREAM VIEWbrThe bathroom (located on the first floor) has a tub with a windowed rain-shower (and stream view), as well as a unique polished tree branch shower curtain rod and curved teak countertop. Plush 100% cotton spa towels and a hairdryer are provided.brbrSTAYING CONNECTEDbrYour flat-screen Samsung Frame TV is “smart” for streaming internet content as well as network programming. Likewise, high-speed WiFi service is reliable and strong, as is cell service for all major providers (Verizon, TMobile, etc.).brbrARCHITECTURE + UPDATESbrBrook Cottage was built in 1928 in the traditional “Woodstock studio style” as part of the thriving arts community. Over the years it has been lovingly renovated/updated and beautifully furnished/decorated by the designer-owner and a master craftsman with great care and attention to detail, as evidenced by the hand-plastered walls with softly rounded corners; natural woodwork and Douglas fir floors refinished to a silky sheen; state-of-the-art systems and appliances (including highly efficient and quiet ACs, dishwasher, and large front-load washer/dryer); 100% cotton luxury bed linens and plush bath towels, etc. In other words, Brook Cottage shares and upholds the same high standards of design, quality, comfort and luxury as Brook Cottage Too, the much-loved and highly popular 5-star rated vacation rental (#4230126) that occupies the west wing of the building and shares the driveway and parking area.brbrAlthough Brook Cottage and Brook Cottage Too are totally separate and independent semi-detached rentals (with separate entrances on different sides of the building, and private patios and outdoor spaces also on different sides of the building), and both are ideally suited for romantic getaways and personal retreats, they may also be rented together by groups of friends or extended family members who want to be together while still maintaining their own private spaces.brbrNO CAR NECESSARYbrBrook Cottage is easy walking distance (just 5 minutes) to everything the village of Woodstock has to offer: popular restaurants/cafes, galleries, boutiques and specialty shops, live music and theater performances, hiking trails, bike rentals, etc. In other words, you don't need a car! Instead, you can take the Adirondack Trailways bus from NYC or NJ to the Woodstock village green, and walk just a few minutes to Brook Cottage, your luxury Woodstock getaway at the edge of the village!brbrMUSICbrLive Woodstock music can sometimes be heard at the cottage in the evening (7-10 pm) coming from the outside patio of the local favorite Station Bar & Curio, which serves craft beers, cocktails, and light meals in a small one-of-a-kind historic former train depot located about a block away.brbrPETSbrWell-behaved, house-broken and crate-trained dogs are considered ~ please ask! Please note that dogs must be crated when left alone in the cottage, and leashed when outdoors. A $75/week pet fee per dog applies..brbrEASY TO CONTACTbrWe’re happy to answer any questions you may have, either before booking or during your stay. We look forward to hearing from you, and welcoming you to Brook Cottage for a peaceful and relaxing getaway!brbrRATESbrPlease note that our rates are based on a 2-person occupancy, and there's a $25/night surcharge for each additional guest. The reason we adopted this pricing structure is because we receive so many inquiries/bookings from couples who request discounts. We decided to reduce our rate by $50/night to accommodate them, and then add the surcharge for additional guests so that the full rate is paid only when the cottage is fully occupied by 4 people. We hope that this makes sense, and appreciate your understanding.brbrShort-Term Rental Operating Permit #21N-124

Beautiful, Tranquil Woodstock Mountain House in the Middle of 4 Wooded Acres

Woodstock, New York, United States

The home is secluded and warm but with all the modern amenities. It sits in the middle of four wooded acres, with no other house in sight, but is only 1.8 miles from the center of the town of Woodstock. I bought it in the summer of 2013 and have enjoyed many relaxing weekends away from NYC. brbrThe original interior is full of warm, knotty pine walls, hardwood floors, and a wood-burning fireplace. In the fall of 2013, I converted an adjoining artist studio to a Great Room. It now has cathedral pine ceilings, wood beams, and light pine floors. It also houses a down-filled Room & Board sofa and chaise, a ping-pong table, a gas woodstove, and a 55' television with cable TV.brbrThe home has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. The Master bedroom features knotty pine cathedral ceilings, Russell Wright furnishings, a quality king mattress, and its own private second-floor deck. The second bedroom also features cathedral ceilings, painted knotty pine walls and ceiling, a Queen Bed, and a day-bed that can be converted to a king. The bed mattresses are all high-quality and very comfortable.brbrThe kitchen has it all: gas stove, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and all the cooking tools, pots and pans, and dishes you could need. The kitchen leads to a serene screened-in back porch that looks onto the blue stone patio and off into the woods. brbrThe front yard is beautifully landscaped with blue stone walkways and steps. About 100 yards to the side of the house -- still on the property -- is a mountain stream. brbrThe home is permitted by the Town of Woodstock for short-term rentals. The registration number of the house for the Town is 21N-132.

There were so many restaurant choices nearby and Laurie made great recommendations too.brbrWe had a wonderful 4 day stay in the woods at Laurie's cottage. The screened in porch overlooking the woods was our favorite place to hang. Easy and quick access to both the town and beautiful hikes. Laurie was a great and accomodating host. Highly recommend!brbrOur family had such an AMAZING stay at Laurie’s charming guest cottage. It’s tucked away in the most quiet, peaceful wooded setting, while being a quick 5 minute drive to all of the charming shops and restaurant in downtown Woodstock. Laurie was a fantastic host, making sure we had absolutely everything we could possibly need and checking in with us throughout our stay. We made daily use of the heated in-ground pool, enjoyed morning coffee on the enormous screened-in porch, and used the provided list of local recommendations as a guide when choosing what activities to do and restaurants to enjoy. We are already looking forward to coming back for another stay next year! Thank you so much, Laurie!!brbrI feel really lucky to have snagged this place! My family of four had the most relaxing, restorative stay at Laurie’s cottage. Laurie has thought of everything and was incredibly hospitable. We all really enjoyed the outdoor seating areas, where we could listen to the nature around us. The swimming pool was perfect. The towels were amazing. A very comfortable place which we were all a bit bummed about having to leave! We sure hope we can come back and spend some more time!brbrLaurie was super helpful with advising us on local things to do and we really enjoyed the stay in such a beautiful location.brbrWOW. There’s a small part of me that hates leaving 5 stars because I want to gate-keep this oasis!! Laurie’s place is a dream. Peaceful, cozy, with every little amenity you could need. The screen-in porch is a complete game-changer. Laurie is the perfect balance of available and invisible. We felt cared for and totally private! The towels, linens, kitchenwares, etc. are all great quality, we really had just the loveliest time. The property is gorgeous, the pool is wonderful. We are already scheming how to get back!brbrIt was our second time staying at Laurie’s and we loved it! This place is perfect and Laurie is a great host. Our kids always have a great time.brbrLaurie’s cottage is impeccably clean and comfortable . We enjoyed relaxing in the screened porch and its picturesque woodland views .brbrLaurie and David’s guesthouse in the woods is bright, clean, comfortable, well-appointed, and peaceful. The bedroom is like a little chalet of white pine, the smell so fresh and woodsy. Our favorite things were reading on the beautiful screened porch surrounded by woods and swimming in the ocean blue saltwater pool. Laurie was so responsive and kind. When we asked if there was an outdoor umbrella, she went into town to buy us one. The whole experience exceeded our expectations.brbrI had extended my stay from before so this is just another post to say how wonderful this space is! I can’t wait to come back in the fall and experience the foliage! The hosts were amazing and I only saw them if something was needed or if I sought them out. Woodstock historic artist estate - The Pond House

Woodstock, New York, United States

This is an architect/artist home featured in various design magazines including Architectural Digest and Icon Design Magazine Italy. GQ magazine rated the Pond House amongst the 7 best vacation rentals in the US.  In short walking distance to the center of Woodstock the secluded setting with a surrounding pond and private waterfall bordering public preserves, as well as the attention to architectural detail, is unique.brbrThe Pond House is the 1930s original Reginald Marsh artist studio building with 16' ceiling height and tall artist windows. Frederick Dana Marsh, father of the well known Social Realist painter Reginald Marsh, married Mabel Van Alstyne in 1930, starting a notable artistic partnership as the Van Alstyne Marsh Collection that was later acquired by the Smithsonian Institution. Their home was unique for Woodstock —'It was in the background of the Mona Lisa; a Van Gogh landscape; a train ride through Tuscany, ball shaped junipers;  a pond that bracketed the house;  expansive lawns; a gathering of birches.  But most of all, big cone shaped cedar trees.  It is a marvelous thing to look up at backlit clouds at sunset, see the intrusion of cedar peaks, pointing up like soft missiles and the erratic flight of mosquito catcher bats making ninety degree turns down the channels between the trees.  A photographer friend was here last weekend, “Don't worry about framing the picture, just point and shoot.  The landscaper framed it for you hundred years ago. ' Here we quote Austin Metze, a long time Woodstock writer. brbrToday the former artist studio of the estate is an architect-renovated gem featuring elevated design standards that include architectural details, high vaulted ceilings, original art work, a hand-selected library, a piano, a wood burning stove. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with premium appliances and amenities. The house comes with central A/C and radiant floor heat. The floor plan is open, which is ideal for a family, but not ideal for guests seeking privacy from each other.brIt’s a socially enhancing and creative space, from the bedrooms to the open dining/living room, gardens and terraces with an outdoor charcoal grill, outdoor dining and lounge areas.brbrThere are 2 bedrooms and a kids room, the master bedroom is offering an especially tranquil overlook of the pond under the stars, with floor to ceiling windows on three sides without obstructing shades. It is open to the staircase with the kids room adjacent. The kids room with a twin-sized bed can only be accessed through the master bedroom. The queen-size bedroom is next to the bathroom downstairs, adjacent to the pond with a glass facade and sliding doors to the staircase and bathroom. It's a very special room, with deer walking by the glass facade a few feet from the bed. There are no neighbors on that side of the house, hence the glass facade in both bedrooms and bathroom need no coverings. brbrPond and Carriage House are separated by the owner-occupied adjacent Manor House, facing away from each other ensuring privacy. No other house is visible from inside the Pond House with its own designated back yard facing the pond and the stream. The grounds and pond surrounding the Pond House are reserved for the Pond House. The Pond House feels very secluded, since two sides of the property are bordering preserves. The pond is not a swimming pond, but the stream comes with multiple swim holes and a waterfall. The swim hole with outcroppings and waterfall is shared with the Carriage and Manor House, with other swim holes a short stroll through the woods away. An outdoor day-bed overviews the legendary Indian Head mountain ridge. The parking area comes with an electric car port.brbrWoodstock is an historically aspirational location with a variety of farm-to- table restaurants, eclectic bars and artisan shops. Upon request we offer professional resources from childcare and house keeping services to a private chef and a massage therapist. The estate is a within a 40 minute driving distance to major New York skiing destinations Belleayre Mountain, Hunter Mountain and Windham Mountain.

The main bedroom has an excellent king mattress with white organic cotton sheets. The simple windows have French lace coverings for privacy.brbrThis is an open house with beautiful wood floors / hand placed ceramic tiles in bathroom and kitchen, with skylights, bay windows, and a beautiful vintage claw-foot tub for long soaks (a shower head also provided). It also has a gorgeous upright piano. Musicians and artists have loved our space. brbrOur space is located inside the village of Woodstock, only 10-minute walk to the Village Green (or 3 min drive). In season, our swimming pool is surrounded by forest and gardens open for summer guests (heating available per your request). Our indoor space is a charming private home including French antiques as well as the piano, with an inset fireplace for winter-spring and fall evenings. Private drive to house in forest makes this extra tranquil as you don't see or hear a road, although we are so accessible to the quaint Woodstock village with its bars, restaurants and food markets. Fountains, flowers, and birds help enjoy the special perennial gardens spring through fall. The deer will come wandering through...and you hear the birds everywhere in and outside the house. br brQuiet and peaceful, yet close to Woodstock town businesses like chic boutiques, and some wonderful restaurants, our location offers the best of both worlds. A perfect space for artists and couples or close friends seeking a restful vacation. And everyone loves the pool in season! brbrWe are also pet friendly -- one small or medium size dog (or cat) allowed per stay. brbrEnticing decks with various garden seating and views of garden and forest. Barbecue under the stars--or use one of our garden fire-pits. brbrA front bay window full of plants faces a front deck. brbrFor colder nights, we have a living room bluestone fireplace (now a smoke free inset with sealed glass door provides lovely wood heat). House has great winter lighting and ample shade in summer. brbrAC in summer is available (additional fee--just let us know your needs). The house also stays cool as it is covered by shade trees in summer. (In winter, the sunlight comes through south-facing bay window for added natural warmth. Regular oil-furnace heat is also available for winter as well as inset-fireplace, which operates like a wood stove but looks like a fireplace with gorgeous bluestone work. brbrBeautiful screened windows as well as sliding door open out to private back deck with forest views all around. brbrCook delicious meals in our simple but fully equipped kitchen with granite counters and Spanish tile floors--or use the barbecue on the deck in the warm season. Enjoy nights of stargazing while eating at the outdoor table with chairs and lounges. There is also an antique French dining table indoors that pulls open with antique chairs. brbrOur 30-foot pool is excellent for swimming or just bobbing, and is surrounded by the forest and a special pool garden with blooming perennials including a magnificent rose bush, and colorful wildflowers. We offer sun umbrellas and chairs for lounging around the pool and in other outdoor seating spots. There's also a hammock for your use.brbrFor a change of pace, can also take a 5 minute walk down the road to the Woodstock Millstream swim hole for a refreshing cool dip on hot summer days, or visit one of our other local stream swim holes (just ask for info!)brbrConsider taking a walk in the woods following the Town of Woodstock paths through the Comeau Property forests along the Millstream. It takes 5 min. to drive to the trailhead. These rambles are refreshing and joyful. Dogs must be on leash!brbrThis is our real weekend home, developed over 30 years of love and care. We are writers and professors who love books, art, writing, and the quiet of our special house. Come enjoy our books, French antiques, and artwork. We love to share it with others when we ourselves are traveling. Come and enjoy our soothing, magical, tranquil atmosphere. Our space is the perfect retreat for one to three people.brbrMusicians can play our lovely piano. Cooks can make magical meals to serve on our antique French table or, in good weather, out on the deck. brbrOr take a stroll into the heart of the Woodstock village very close by to shop or eat great food. Hear music in local venues for the cost of a drink in places like the Colony (restored 19th century hotel made into a music venue) right in town. We can give more information about live music venues, such as the renown Ramble, the Bearsville theater down the road, or the Station Bar. Woodstock is a town of music! brbrWe provide a full Woodstock House Manual for your stay, with local venue tips. And just ask for information -- we can recommend our favorite current restaurants and local hang-out spots. The gardens also have art and mobile sculptures by our renown family artists. (All information in the Manual hardcopy.) You may not even want to leave the Gardens! They are fabulous in summer/early fall. You even have fresh herbs available there for cooking. brbrDon't miss this opportunity to relax by the pool, on the decks surrounded by flowers and greenery, with sumptuous views of the forest when our calendar allows. We do think this is a PARADISE. IOur guests over the years tell us how peaceful and relaxing our place is, and that the photos often don't do the place justice. brbr***brbrMore detailed information: brbrPolished wood floors are laid with authentic Persian carpets (sometimes removed in summer months), Our calm living room opens up to skylights and a bay window. Relaxing chairs and rockers are located multiple parts of the house. brbrThe bathroom is charming and simple, with a large claw tub (no standup shower but we provide a shower head in our antique tub).
