Picture yourself in an Arts-and-Crafts-style home, on 3.3 acres, just a short walk from Woodstock’s Village Green. We've owned it since 2002 and listed it on VRBO in 2019 for the first time. Your getaway begins in this Woodstock Festival-era 3-bedroom, 2-bath home offering many truly unique qualities. Relax by the heated pool (during the warm months), surrounded by mature trees. Enjoy the “weather-resistant” outdoor room: a spectacular, covered deck featuring a full fireplace. Watch the meandering stream that flows past the yard. Stretch out on one of the sofas in the one-of-a-kind, stone living room. You’ll be transported: We’re just 100 miles—a two-hour drive—from NYC.

See why our guests write: You know it was a great trip when you talk about when you can return!

We'll do our best to accommodate early check-ins and late departures, but it always depends on our being able to properly turnover the house from the previous guests and next guests.

Please note: Parties and events are not permitted. There are many other homes in the area that might be more suitable for you if that's what you're looking for. We strive to be good neighbors.

Inside: Everything is on one floor! (There are three steps to get to the living room.) This architecturally unique home offers many distinctive touches with continuous windows connecting each room. The stone room was formerly the neighborhood icehouse and was converted to a living room when the home was built in the late ‘60s. All of the bedrooms feature floor-to-ceiling Hunter Douglas window shades.

The main bedroom has a queen-size Thos. Moser bed and boasts two sliding doors. One leads you right to the covered outdoor room. The other opens on the deck and overlooks the stream. The room is appointed with other Thos. Moser furniture, a 43 TV, and a one-of-a-kind giant, framed poster of a Vargas girl. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower.

The other two bedrooms each feature super-comfy, queen-size Pottery Barn beds, and a shared bath, with stall shower.

The open kitchen has Bosch appliances and a grand counter with bar stools, or for serving meals buffet-style. The adjoining dining room offers an 8-seat dining table.

The extra-high-ceilinged living room features ultra-modern furniture, including two sofas, an enormous lounge chair with ottoman, and two plush swivel chairs, all oriented towards the 43” TV. A leather bench is positioned in front of the wood-burning stone fireplace. A ceiling fan is also there for your comfort.

(Note: The house does NOT have central A/C. There is a large wall unit in the hallway, fans in each bedroom, and a ceiling fan in the living room.)

Outside: The covered outdoor room, measuring 18’ x 18’, features ultra-comfortable furniture from Restoration Hardware, an 8-seat farm table for outdoor eating, and a ceiling fan. You’ll want to use the room’s full-size wood-burning fireplace while you’re enjoying a glass of wine in the early evening. The 360° views include the pool, the stream, the woods and, of course, the house.

An attached, uncovered deck includes a picnic table and gas grill for your use.

The 18’ x 36’ heated pool features a custom stone patio and garden. (Hummingbirds love to visit the honeysuckle.) There are six lounge chairs, four additional chairs, and a serving table. (Note: The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through mid-September.)

There's a basketball hoop on the driveway, suitable for half court play.

Woodstock: The town offers everything you’d want for a getaway—an eventful nightlife with fine dining, unique bars with craft cocktails and local beers, multiple concert venues offering everything from alternative to rock to blues, jazz and classical programs, a movie theater with the latest indie and foreign films, and more. There’s plenty of shopping plus casual eateries for breakfast or lunch.

The annual Woodstock Film Festival is held every October, with well over 100 independent films and plenty of celebrities. Speaking of stars, you won’t believe how bright the sky gets at night! And, of course, the Catskills are known for its great fall foliage season.

Nearby: There are great walks within minutes of town. Within a half hour’s drive are other towns to visit including Rhinebeck, with great shopping and dining, across the scenic Rhinecliff Bridge that spans the Hudson River. Roughly 45-minutes away: Hudson, with dozens of antique stores and fine restaurants; Red Hook for apple, berry and pumpkin picking; and Hunter or Belleayre for skiing.

Living in the woods: Our home, as is all of Wood-stock, is in a woodsy area. Occasional wildlife and insects may be on the property.

(Note: Rentals cannot exceed two weeks without owners' consent. Please inquire. Guests are allowed to bring a small dog, but only with prior approval of owner.)

The photos don't really do it justice. The inside and outside spaces are very nicely appointed and also very welcoming to hang out in. Great kitchen to cook in, which we did most nights. We were there with our adult kids and had lots of space for us. The owner, Greg, was very helpful and a nice guy. It was hot, and the pool felt great. Overall, just lovely. Thanks!

Wooded property with covered deck, pool, gas grill and fireplace. Cozy and relaxing. Indoor decor, amenities and well-stocked kitchen were a pleasure. Only negative was some traffic noise at night. Greg was a reliable and generous host.

My group of 6 absolutely loved our stay here. The house itself is beautiful, the location terrific and the host is very responsive. We took advantage of the heated pool and spent a lot of time on the covered porch. I would definitely recommend it to anyone…we didn’t want to leave!

My stay at Greg's place was perfect. Every part of my stay was seamless. My stay started with me needing to find a place last minute and Greg was responsive and helpful and got me in - even though he was out of the country on vacation! Once I got to the house, it was beautiful, inside it was nicely decorated and clean; also well stocked. Greg was responsive to all my questions but honestly, everything ran so smoothly, there were barely any! Outside, the place is a dream. The outdoor room is definitely an amazing place to hang out and the nature all around the property is gorgeous. I didn't use the pool but it was just a personal preference; it was clean and well maintained. I highly recommend Greg's place if you are looking for a special place in Woodstock!

My adult daughters and I stayed at this beautiful home for a long weekend. Everything was excellent. Greg provided lots of detailed information for check-in, about the property, and for things to do in the area. He was quick to respond to our questions. The home was very clean, updated, well cared for, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Beds and bedding were very comfortable and there were several options for comfortable seating in 3 different rooms. Love, love, love the outdoor room and stone fireplace. The owner provided firewood and starter materials so we were able to easily start and enjoy a fire every evening in the pretty and comfy outdoor space. We grilled out on the gas grill one of the nights. Propane was provided. We enjoyed being outside whenever we were not out exploring the area. Mornings were good for bird watching. While at the house we saw a bald eagle, a blue heron, deer and three shooting stars. The night sky is amazing here. Lots of hiking in the area and the 30 minute drive to Kasterskill Falls was well worth it. Great little town and lots of good restaurants. We hope to return again!

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful house. It’s just outside of Woodstock so a great location for seeing the area. Both the house and the outdoor areas are great. The heated swimming pool was a real bonus and was very clean and great to relax in after being out. The outdoor seating and cooking area is a place you will spend a lot of time in if the weather is good. The house is comfortable, plenty of space to relax and the kitchen has everything you need. Greg was a delight to work with, all instructions were easy and he made sure we had everything we needed.

The house is even more beautiful in person, and our family (my husband and adult age son) had the peaceful getaway week we were hoping for. Easy to access, convenient to town and other fun destinations suggested by the owner, yet secluded, the property was just the ideal place for our little vacation. The pool is absolutely wonderful, and we spent many hours just swimming and reading poolside. We especially enjoyed the outside living room with fireplace on cooler nights. Everything felt so luxurious. The owner, Greg, was fantastic with prompt communications about any questions we had, and provided us with a wealth of dining, shopping, and attractions to explore (including Opus 40, which was as spectacular and indescribable as he promised). The house was immaculate, had all the conveniences a home could hope for, and we loved the beautiful architecture, the sun shining through skylit rooms, and even a wonderful library of books we enjoyed. We cannot recommend this property and its lovely owners more highly! We are grateful for the opportunity to rent the house, the perfect idyll for our family, and we hope to return in the future! Thank you, Greg and Leigh Ann!

The outdoor living room is a real winner. I think I counted maybe 20 species of birds in the back yard. No close neighbors to speak of. Very short drive into town and other attractions. My wife and I had a very restful week there. Owner was available and attentive.
