Newbury, New Hampshire, United States
Travel through three acres on a winding private driveway lined with white birch and stone walls to begin your Whistle Hill adventure. This luxury ski house with sweeping lakefront and mountain views has floor-to-ceiling windows, letting you enjoy the full splendor of the region whether inside or out. Whistle Hill is five minutes from Sunapee ski mountain, which boasts 66 trails, 233 acres of skiable terrain, and a 2,753 foot elevation. There are ten lifts, easy ticketing and rentals, and five restaurants and pubs. Since 97% of the mountain's terrain has snowmaking capability, the conditions are always good at Sunapee. The mountain has been recognized for the best snowmaking and grooming in the northeast, eliminating house rental risks that arise when mountain conditions are dependent on the weather. This ski location is also centrally located to many of the top ski resorts in New England for day trips to other large mountains in NH, VT and Maine.br After a full day of leaf peeping or hiking, skiing or snowboarding, or shopping quaint New England towns, settle in with family and friends in the large, bright, open floor plan with dramatic natural scenery and roaring fireplaces. Whistle Hill is perched on a rugged hillside and set on the eastern shore of Lake Sunapee, so you can marvel at extraordinary sunsets from most rooms in the 3-story house. The downstairs family room with a large leather sectional/entertainment area, pool table, and granite bar (with stools, second fridge and sink), opens out to a brand new (2022) 6-person hot tub, which is situated on an outside deck with a high-top bar table and sitting area facing Sunapee Mountain and Lake. A wireless Sonos sound system lets you enjoy your favorite playlists throughout the house and on the deck. br For more private time, squirrel off to the study on the cushioned elongated bay window seat, the soft engulfing sectional, or at the full desk to enjoy a book, write notes, or just get some work done with high-speed connectivity. The vaulted two-story living room, two floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces, wooden cross beams, and rope-railed wooden steps down to the water, set the tone for an elegant, but authentic mountain experience. br Hardwood floors, slate, granite, and modern tension wire railing. Five large plasma screen televisions. All new appliances in the open concept kitchen with granite counters and eat-at island, large fridge, double oven, gas stove, and 2 refrigerated Thermador refreshment drawers. Extra fridge downstairs in bar/game room kitchenette. Extra cooking with a new six-burner gas grill and a Green Egg. Farmhouse table, overlooking the lake and opening up to an elevated patio for breakfast or drinks, seats ten comfortably (12 chairs available).
