The Retreat on Rogers Street

Dover, New Hampshire, United States

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place located just a half mile from the downtown.brbrWelcome to this newly completed secondary unit that includes a full kitchen, kitchen island, living space, desk, and bedroom. I want to provide a comfortable and stylish setting for guests that would rival some hotels while making you feel like you are home.brbrWhile here, you relax on the patio and light up the fire pit for an evening coffee or refreshment. I store it during the winter, but I can take it out if you enjoy the bitter frost!brbrAdditionally, I listed the parking as “on street” just to be fair and not to appear deceitful. You are more than welcome to utilize the driveway as long as you let me know so my car does not get blocked in for your stay. Guests staying for more than a week can also utilize my washer/dryer for a load or two but it’s on the top floor so I just need a heads up.brbrPS: my dog is super friendly. You’re welcome to request a visit from him!brbrOn-street parking is readily available and free. You can park on the right side of my driveway as long as you let me know before so I can prepare.brbrI am within walking distance to the local bus (including UNH), the train station, and downtown. I highly recommend walking to downtown (0.5 miles) and driving everywhere else.brbrI am here for whatever you need but will give you space during your visit. I will check in via text or message once you arrive, but I’m available.brbrLocated within a half mile to Dover, NH with proper sidewalks.brbrI recommend a car if traveling to any place outside downtown Dover. You can walk downtown or the nearby bakery (Dustin’s). Also, I am located about 0.75 miles from the train station and a half block to a bus stop so you can get around via public transit if you need it, but a car would be more practical due to lack of regular service.brbrThe living area is located directly next to the room housing the heater/furnace (walled off, of course), which some might find distracting. I tested the noise and was able to comfortably watch tv. I find it no different than most heaters or AC units in a hotel.brHouse RulesbrWe are excited to have you stay with us at Port City Stays! Please read the following rules carefully.brbrRespect for Neighbors: Please be considerate of our neighbors` privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum at all times. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays (Sunday to Thursday) and 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM on weekends (Friday to Saturday).brbrNo Smoking: Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are not permitted anywhere on the property, indoors or outdoors. A $200 cleaning fee will be charged for any evidence of smoking.brbrNo Parties or Events: Parties, events, and gatherings beyond the registered number of guests are not allowed. Maximum occupancy is specified in your booking confirmation. Unregistered overnight guests are not permitted.brbrPets: Pets are not permitted at this property. Service animals are accommodated in accordance with applicable law. (A few of our other listings are pet-friendly if you`re traveling with one, just ask.)brbrCheck-In and Check-Out: Check-in is between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Check-out is by 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out may be available for purchase through your boarding pass. Check-in instructions, including your door code, will be released 30 minutes before your check-in time once verification is complete.brbrParking: Use only designated parking areas as described in your check-in instructions. Street parking is available, and the right side of the driveway may be used with advance notice to the onsite host. Do not block the driveway or park in unauthorized areas.brbrUnit Respect: Treat the rental unit and all furnishings with care. Any damages beyond normal wear and tear or excessive cleaning requirements will be charged to the guest on a per-cost basis. A security deposit or damage waiver may be required as part of your booking.brbrNo Commercial Use: Commercial photography, filming, or production is not permitted without prior written approval.brbrLock Doors and Windows: For your safety, make sure to lock all doors and windows when leaving the property.brbrPersonal Belongings: We are not responsible for the loss or damage of personal belongings during your stay. Please secure your valuables.brbrAlways ask your host for help if you need it. We are here 24/7 for your comfort and safety :)brbrOther Things to KnowbrFurnace room. The living area shares a wall with the unit`s furnace/heater room (fully enclosed). It kicks on occasionally during colder months. We tested it and it`s comparable to a hotel HVAC unit, quiet enough to watch TV through without issue. Worth knowing if you`re a light sleeper.
