It is the middle unit of a 3 unit building located on 2.65 acres of lakefront property boasting many community amenities.brbrIt has its own screened-in three season room complete with a table and furniture for outdoor dining and recreation. Inside you will find a living room complete with a large Roku TV. The couch pulls out into a sleeper should you need sleep space for 4. There is also a full kitchen complete with a stove and cookware to create your favorite meals should you wish to do so. Inside the bedroom is another large TV as well as an extremely comfortable king sized bed and master bath. The bathroom was just renovated this spring and features a rainfall shower. Should you be someone who likes to keep your stay at a consistent temperature, two brand new heating and cooling units were installed this year to help keep you toasty in the winter and cool in the summer.brbrOutside is a short walk to the lake. There is a shared fire pit overlooking the lake. We also have kayaks (spring-fall only) that are located on the racks down by the lake denoted by the number 3. These are locked up but the code is supplied in your stay binder. There is no lifeguard on duty so please be aware to swim and kayak at your own risk. The lake also features exceptional fishing with many different varieties of fish to catch. In the summer, there is also a swim dock (Memorial Day-Labor Day) to paddle or swim out to and lounge.brbrDid I mention the mountains Located just 15 minutes from Bretton Woods and 25 minutes from Cannon, skiing is extremely close by. Should snowmobiling be your thing, across the lake is a trail that connects southern NH all the way up to Canada! We group these cottages along one side of the pond so the maximum shoreline is protected, following guidelines set by our forest advisor. If it is rainy, try a massage at the Mt View Grand in Whitefield. Although the results of a recent makeover to the lobby are tragic, the game rooms and library are still intact.brbrHiking around is always a favorite of guests. We have trails all around the pond and are adjacent to the Dana Forest where you can take a mossy woodland trail to an old Gold Mine. The trail entrance is on your right just before Ridge Rd takes a turn upwards.brbrFor a spectacular view-the Weeks State Park is a 1.5 mile walk or drive up Mt Prospect with 2 lookout rest stops along the way. There is a fire tower at the top in case you want more climbing!brbrBethlehembrThe Colonial Theater has live music or movies.brbrFor restaurants- The Cold Mt Cafe in Bethlehem has a lovely simple menubrbrbrReklis brewery is also in town with their own craft beer and good Pub food.brbrbrAdair Country Inn is perfect for a fancy dinner. In the summer months you can purchase nightcrawlers along the road (people have honor system stands along the road - just put cash in the can). Guests fishing off our shoreline with nightcrawlers have had success catching bass. If perch are what you’re after, we have found catching grasshoppers in the yard is the best bait there is. brbrIf you wish to ice fish, you may want to bring a portable bobhouse. All bobhouses must have 12” reflector squares on all sides, and must also have their name, address and telephone number affixed to the exterior. Fishing licences are required to ice fish. A maximum of 6 holes may be drilled per fisherman. Bobhouses are not permitted on the lake after March 31.brbrMore About Boating: After signing a liability release, guests have access to kayaks at no additional charge between Memorial Day and Columbus Day. Guests may also choose to bring their non-powered water-craft (canoes, paddle boards, etc) and launch them from our private beach. Guests with pontoons or other powered boats should reach out to us. Depending on the type of boat we MAY permit you to use our dock, after using the public boat launch. Generally, our FWD customers with good tires and experience driving and show, do not have trouble. If you are concerned that your vehicle won’t make it up the hill, here are some options:brbrParking by Burns Lake Farm: There is a farm house at the top of the hill, about a 5-minute walk from the apartment. You may choose to park your vehicle there. If you choose this option, my husband or I will pick you and your luggage up at check-in, and drop you and your luggage off at check-out. This is a great option for hikers, skiers, and people who don’t mind a 5-minute walk in cold weather. This is also a great option for people who plan to cook in the unit, and not leave the property much during their stay. A number of guests have been very happy with this option.brbrRWD VEHICLES:brWe don’t recommend staying with us from December through March if you have an RWD vehicle. If it is the only vehicle you have access to, and your heart is set on staying with us, the parking option mentioned above for FWD vehicles is recommended.brbrSNOWMOBILE TRAILERS: brWe have had people successfully come up and down the hill, towing snowmobile trailers. We suggest you first unhook at the Insurance Agency and assess the road conditions. If you wish to bring a trailer you must contact us in advance.brbrAll that being said, very few people have actually had issues, and so far we have been able to assist everyone who has run into trouble, without calling a tow truck.brbrTHIS PROPERTY IS LAKE FRONT AND THERE IS NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. Please ask us if you have any questions.brbrPlease wear water shoes in the lake in case there are fishing hooks.brbrNH does not allow firewood to cross state lines. Please plan to buy in NH if you are interested in using the fire pit. No Briquettes and fires must never be left unattended. The designated Fire Pit area is the only area open flames are allowed per NH rules. They sell firewood at the local gas station, and at Shaws in Lancaster as well as on the main road in Littleton. A bundle is anywhere from $5-10… keep your eyes open for roadside self-serve stations!brbrWe provide hand towels and one shower towel per guest. We include extra if we have them and will provide beach towels for lake activity. If you think you might need more towels, please bring extra. Thanks!brbrStolen/Lost towels will be $35 each to replace so it is best practice to bring all towels inside and put it in a pile including outdoor beach towels.brbrEarly Check in before 3pm or late Check out after 11am may be available for a $25-$40 fee depending on length and season and confirming with host. This is evident in the private screened in porch with plenty of seating, and a table with chairs for eating. You will find that the design of the cottage is extremely thoughtful and intuitive. We have taken that to the next level by modernizing the space with amenities and entertainment for adults and and kids of all ages. It’s fun inside and out.brbrThe ~550 sq ft air conditioned/heated space consists of 1 lockable bedroom with a brand new 14” plush memory foam mattress, new bed frame and custom headboard. Two new lighting sconces with USB ports for charging all your devices, dresser, and Roku smart LED bulbs throughout. there are wall-mounted phone holders next to each side of the bed. The main living room has a custom bar with glassware, futon couch, brand new wall mounted 50” Roku LED TV with Roku Soundbar pro. It all operates on one easy remote and you can stream beautiful dolby quality music through the soundbar from your devices. Even better is the roku remote allows you to plug in headphones if you dont want to disturb others late night! My 6 year old can operate this whole system, its awesome. There are plenty of cozy blankets and storage. From the living room you can see a ladder to 2 bed loft with an extra hangout area. There is a brand new Roku TV in the loft for extra entertainment. Our secure Wi-Fi system is an Orbi mesh network with blazing fast high speed internet for working remotely or using many devices.brbrNext to the living room is a Dining Room table with 4 chairs and a large table for meals or games. Additionally, there is a private lockable bathroom with a shower, toilet and vanity, and exhaust fan. Next to the bathroom door is a beautiful storage cabinet with plenty of board games, cards, poker chips etc. As you walk through the cottage, you will see the kitchen cooking area and prep space with a two burner grill and large cutting board with sink on opposite side. It is a fully stocked kitchen with spices, oils, and cutlery. A few steps farther around the corner is the full size fridge and microwave as well as additional custom breakfast bar seating with 2 stools looking directly at the lake for enjoying your morning coffee or a meal for 2. There is a side porch door to the deck if you would prefer to take your coffee and breakfast outside to enjoy beautiful Mirror lake. The deck has brand new patio furniture. Then make your way down to the kayaks and paddleboard for a relaxing time on the serene lake. It is not uncommon to hear the Loons, turtles, spot a fox, osprey, or see a Bald Eagle circling the lake. Our propane gas grill is located just in front of the deck.brbrThese are lakeside cottages that have shared outdoor space including a massive fire pit with Adirondack seating. We have provided the fire permit for you! Fire-pit boasts an amazing view of the lake and mountains. Please be courteous and clean up after yourself. This is north country, and there are animals. We don’t want to attract them if at all possible.brbrWe also provide all quality linens, towels, beach towels, and bedding… all you have to do is get up here!brbrLake Activities: 2 kayaks and paddles are provided by us for you to enjoy. There is also a shared canoe as well as fishing rods. The lake has a dock and a floating raft you can swim to. The water is extremely warm as Mirror lake isn’t a very deep lake. Anglers will enjoy almost a dozen species of fish! We caught some nice bullhead catfish at night just last week (9/5/23). Grab worms at the gas station in town and grab one of out rods!brbrFIRE PIT RULES: We have purchased a fire permit for your use while staying with us which is valid thru 12/2023. Please use the designated fire pit area in the center of the grounds for your fires and smoking. It is a very large fire pit with chairs around it. No other area is designated for fires including the sitting area (Garden with Adirondack chairs) next to our cottage 6 (we also own and rent this cottage). Wood only, no charcoal briquettes, and fires cannot be left unattended and must be fully extinguished after use. We keep an extra bucket in the cabin labeled for putting out your fire. Please do not throw glass into the fire. This fire pit is the only area where open flames are allowed including smoking per the fire Marshall of NH. **Please clean up after yourself for the next person or group, we do not have a groundskeeper for fire-pit clean up. We also do not want to attract animals. Have a good time, but no raging parties please. This is a retreat for you to enjoy… be courteous of others. This makes it easier for our cleaning crew to clean the unit and provide 5 star experience to guests like yourself. Make yourself at home but please treat the unit like you would your own space. The cleaning fee does not include cleaning up after fire pit or stuff/trash being left on public grounds.
