Newbury, New Hampshire
Located on a private road just steps from Lake Sunapee and less than a mile to Mount Sunapee Ski resort, you can enjoy fishing, water skiing, or downhill mountain biking at the Sunapee Adventure Park or downhill skiing. Rent our 14' runabout and use it to go to one of three different dockside restaurants or just explore!
Note: We are not renting out for the entire winter season as our family would also like to enjoy the mountain this winter but will be happy to rent it out for extended weekends or 1- 2 week long stays. Even if the lodge is not open, you're 2 minutes from home to go back and have lunch during your ski day.
If you enjoy fishing, Lake Sunapee can't be beat! Lake trout ; landlocked salmon (Atlantic salmon) requiring deep, pure cold water; smallmouth bass; chain pickerel; yellow perch; brown bullhead catfish (commonly called "hornpout") and rock bass (red-eye bass), rainbow smelt; burbot (ling cod). The water is exceptionally pure.
Mountain biking, hiking, or zip lining sound fun Ride your bike (walk, or drive) to Mount Sunapee Adventure Park. Want a large, sandy beach Walk to Sunapee State Park Beach right around the corner.
Bring your kids, pet, fishing gear, mountain bikes, or (if you prefer relaxing) a book! Large deck for grilling, internet access and cable if don't want to fully unplug.
The cottage was very comfortable and in a good location. Communication with the owners was very responsive. We would recommend staying there as it was a pleasure for us.
My husband and I decided to rent a house since my kids were remote learning last Winter. We had such a wonderful stay!! Greg and Kristen’s place is only a 3 minute drive to sunapee. The house was clean, quaint and the kids loved having bunk beds. I highly recommend renting!
We came, we stayed, we shredded, we laughed, we fell asleep cozily. Only five minutes from the mountain! Just lovely all around.
Had a great time at Greg’s place on Lake Sunapee. Everything was as advertised, and the kitchen and bathroom were well equipped with everything we needed. Dog friendly and great place to let him run off leash. We will be back!
A lovely Cottage on Lake Sunapee. Had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing week. Greg was always helpful and responsive to any questions.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Lake Sunapee. Greg and Kristen were always quick to respond with any questions we had. We took advantage of renting their boat and paddle boards, and brought our kayaks with us. Needless to say we had a wonderful week on the water!
A cute house that is 2 minutes from beautiful lake Sunapee. The owner is great to work with: polite, efficient and knowledgeable. The house is well equipped and has a good layout. The perfect getaway, our teenagers and Golden Retriever had a blast. We would certainly return.
Rental was very nice and as advertised. Great place near the lake and within walking distance to the beach. Parking was a little tight but otherwise no complaints.
We had a FABULOUS time staying at this extremely roomy, beautiful home on the lake. It is placed right around the corner from the Sunapee State Park allowing for summer swimming, boating, hiking, zip lining or winter skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, and snowmen. We rented the boat they listed for rent and went to a restaurant on the lake for dinner one night. The views are STUNNING! At night, walk down to the dock, (3 houses down from this house: easy walk with nice people if you bump into any. We met a neighbor) ...anyway, go to the dock and look at the stars - the Milky Way lights up the sky and it is memorizing! The house itself was much larger than what we expected. The master is surrounded by windows so you can enjoy the awesome NH sunrise. We used this house as our hub as we spent a week looking for our permanent NH home. It was perfect! New London is 15 minutes away (great little town that you could spend a day milling around in). Lakes, hiking trails, little shops...it’s all within minutes of this home. Or, just sit in the quiet and enjoy the peace and serenity it offers. Everything worked great, we brought our dog, Maui, who made it her own while we were there. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice of houses to rent. And, for the area, excellent price! A couple of things to keep in mind but not negatives. It is a short walk to the dock...about 3 houses down and the houses are very close to each other. We only saw one person. LOL Also, AT&T cell service does not work in the Sunapee area. If you have it, make sure you can make data calls or just enjoy being unplugged. The host was fabulous! We had trouble getting into the house. It’s a smart lock and, with no service, that became a problem. He was on it immediately and we were in within minutes! We also asked to stay an additional day and they were accommodating and easy to work with so we could. Kitchen has everything you need if you wanted to stay in and cook. We grilled outside two nights out of the 6. If you are looking for a central point, a wonderful space to call home while you’re away, we say this is the place. I know I sound over the top. But, when reading up on where to stay I read everyone’s comments so I can make a wise decision when it comes to renting from others. This was an awesome experience and we feel it should be known so others can make an educated choice. Have fun in NH!!! We LOVE it!
Great get away on lake Sunapee, great house just a short walk to the lake. Great place to relax and take in the sun set on the dock or grilling on the deck. Well equipped home that is super clean, just a great getaway.
