A Step Away: Long-Term Stays-The Downtown Townhouse with Yard

Saugatuck, Michigan, United States

Our A Step Away townhouse offers a downtown location along with a back yard, a deck, two levels of living space, and we're dog friendly. The 2 bedroom and 1.5 bath home is located behind our retail store in downtown Saugatuck (guests receive a discount on their purchases made during their stay). Extended stays are welcome & strong Wi-Fi allows for a seamless escape. Lastly, dogs are allowed (w/pre-approval & pet fee). We have a 4.98* average review on the “other” rental site.brbrThis townhouse style home is just A Step Away from downtown Saugatuck. It's a couple hundred feet from the marina on the Kalamazoo River. The townhouse has been professionally decorated and offers great interior spaces and amenities and we're always updating our home. The townhouse is large enough so that you can share the home with up to six people (and a dog/additional fee) but also find a space to call your own. Step outdoors and enjoy the exclusive use back yard and maybe an alfresco dinner on your deck area. Relax, it's Saugatuck.brbrThe townhouse is fully self-contained and has a private entrance. The home is part of an antique colonial structure that also includes our lifestyle mercantile store: The store (see photo) is located at street level at the front of the first floor only and the townhouse is at the rear of the first floor and the townhouse is also on the entire second floor (that's why we call it a townhouse). The home offers a level back yard (with a grill) and a rear/side deck area (with plenty of patio furniture). Guests of our townhouse have access and exclusive use of our back yard and you'll have your own deck area right outside the great room*. Guests staying at A Step Away are near all that Saugatuck has to offer.brbrBonus Perks:brbrAll “A Step Away” guests are invited to visit our retail store in downtown Saugatuck—Kindel & Company Home • Haberdashery at 241 Culver St. Stop in for local tips, restaurant recommendations, or shopping suggestions (we call it “lite” concierge service). Plus, enjoy a special guest-only discount when you shop with us.brbrThings to know before you make a reservation:brbr• There’s no elevator buttons to press. There’s no common entrance halls to share: The home is for you and your guests only.br• Our homes are thoroughly cleaned by local cleaning professionals with whom we have built long term relationships. Cleaning protocols are monitored and updated by your hosts as necessary and we regularly inspect all homes. br• We have contactless check-in and to further improve your stay we share our digital “Guest eGuide” with you before your arrival.br• Please enter your expected guest count (adult/children/infant) when making inquiry or reservation.br• Primary renters must be 25 years of age or older.br• Parties are not permitted.brbrFees and Taxes will/may be included in your reservation cost:brbr• PET FEES and EXPECTATIONS:brCertain dogs (up to two) are considered and there is per stay pet fee, if approved. Do not select Instant Book unless the host has approved your dog(s). There is a maximum of two dogs per stay. The pet fee will be added to your reservation as long as you select a count for pets on your search/reservation/inquiry. Guests may be able to add/amend/include approved dogs on their confirmed reservation (a reservation that did not include dog(s)) if you contact the host regarding this change/request (A pet fee adjustment will be sent to you before your arrival).brbrWe appreciate being able to bring our pets on trips but there are responsibilities that come with that privilege. It is the expectation that the dog will be kept on a leash when he/she is in any of the property’s common areas. It is the expectation that the dog’s owner will pick up all dog waste and dispose of the waste in an appropriate location outside of the home. It is the expectation that the dog’s owner will not allow the dog(s) to bark incessantly or often or during normal quiet hours. It is the expectation that the dog is truly a part of your vacation and will not be left alone in the home for an extended period of time. It is the expectation that if your pet causes damage to the home or its contents that the owner will immediately notify the host. Thank you.brbr• CLEANING FEES: The cleaning fee will be allocated over the number of nights reserved. The cleaning fee covers a portion of the actual costs incurred (paid to a local service provider and laundry).brbr• SALES TAXES: Michigan and local law requires the host to collect a 6% sales/use tax on the base rate plus any additional fees (cleaning, dog, extra person(s) fees) if the stay is less than 31 days. Vrbo will withhold these taxes and remit the sales taxes to the State of Michigan.brbrThings to know for before and during your stay:brbr• The kitchen is part of the great room (living/dining/kitchen). There are floor/table fans as well as a supplemental window air conditioner. What's more, the electric heating fireplace in the living room adds ambiance and optional warmth. Be comfortable and at home at A Step Away.br• We (or the landscaper) might need to tend to landscaping/lawn/watering but this won't be done too early or too late in the day.br• Checkout day: Leave all dirty towels in the bathroom on the floor. Leave dirty linens on unmade bed(s).br• Checkout day: Place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run the dishwasher before departing and if you use the propane grill please burn off (and wire-brush the grates) any remnants of your feast (a wire brush is in the grill's tank area). br• During your stay and on checkout day: Deposit all commingled garbage and recycling (Saugatuck does not offer a regular recycling program) out to the trashcan located in the back yard.br• Please turn off all lights, close all windows, and adjust HVAC to stated temperature (on thermostat) prior to checking out.br• Finally, please lock the digital entry lock when you depart and then have a safe trip home.
