Surrounded by rolling hills, trees and wildlife, the bungalow is located 2 miles (5 minute drive) to Schuss Mountain; is 6.7 miles (13 minute drive) from downtown Bellaire, MI and Short`s Brewery; and 12 miles to Torch Lake (15 minute drive). We are also a short walk to the Cedar River. brbrIt is nestled into a cute area that is primarily populated with other vacation homes. The home, however, is isolated from the other homes and offers multiple acres of privacy in every direction.brbrWe have parking for up to four vehicles in our driveway and you`ll definitely need a car to get around as there is no public transportation or ride share services in this area. brbrIt`s also a decent area to ride bikes around, if you like hills :)brbrThe location of the bungalow is both near and far from everything that the Torch Lake area and Bellaire have to offer. That means guests should plan to bring some snacks and food to prepare for meals, in order to guarantee the most comfortable stay!brbrNoteworthy: br1.) The loft is not suitable for guests with mobility issues or small children, due to the steep ladder required to access it.br2.) In the winter, we recommend guests have 4WD for getting into and out of the neighborhood which is nicely paved but a bit hilly. br3.) The home is 850 sq/ft, and while it is very adorable and cozy, it is best suited for a couple, small group of 4 adults or a family of 4.br4.) This location is no suitable for work, video calls, etc. There is no WiFi and the cellular service is weak (but it does work). The west wing has a very large master bedroom with attached bathroom (shower) and large flat screen TV as well a patio out the sliding glass door. Also in the west wing, we have a bunk room with two bunk beds (fulls on bottom and twins on top) with flat screen Smart TV and bean bags for lounging. Rounding out the west wing is a third bedroom with a twin bed trundle with Big Joe bean bag and a work area. Across the hall is a common bathroom with shower. brbrPass through the entry way which has a seating area to the east wing. Here you find a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary appliances and stock to make a full meal for your large party. Eat dinner together dining hall style in our 18 person equipped dining table next to the kitchen. brbrA newly decorated living area has a sectional couch, shuffle board game, and additional seating for lots of fun and laughter! Two bedrooms, a loft, sunroom with games and laundry room (new appliances!) round out the east wing. One bedroom has a king bed with TV and desk area, and one bedroom has two double beds with attached bathroom with shower and bathtub. But sometimes we all need a nice home-cooked meal, right That's why our kitchen is stocked with all the essentials you'll need to cook you and your family a nice dinner.brbrWhile we don't offer cable, each tv is equipped with a Roku for watching all your guilty pleasures. So feel free to BYOL (bring your own login) and log in to any service you're subscribed to.brbrWhile the home is equipped to host 11 people, we think the perfect group size is 7-8. We're more than happy to host all 11, but keep in mind it is a little cozier as it's a 1500 square foot home.brbrIMPORTANT- PLEASE READbrbrThe house is newly updated and cozy but please keep in mind that this ranch is an older home and there are a few areas where its age shows. Please do not roast us in your review because some of the doors are hard to open. We believe we are priced fairly and appropriately, so if you require something super high end, this is not your place.brbrThe downstairs den or 5th pseudo-bedroom doesn't offer the same level of privacy as the other 4 bedrooms. Its located downstairs and there is an air duct that taller members of your party may have to duck slightly under to access. That's the price they have to pay for being taller than the rest of us:) This is the only room downstairs with low clearance. brbrThe main house has a full size gas water heater, but the in-law suite could only accommodate a 20 gallon water electric heater. When taking a shower in the suite there is roughly 5 minutes of hot water and then it takes 20-80 minutes to fully reheat.brbrPlease keep in mind that the drain leads out of the house are sensitive. So please do not flush ANYTHING that's not toilet paper.brbrOur neighbor has a wonderful dog named Shadow. She is a lover and mostly stays in here own yard, but sometimes she gets curious and likes to wander over. brbrIn an effort to secure the premises, we've installed a google floodlight at the front of the home & a google doorbell. The town of Bellaire is very safe, but this helps us keep an eye on the property & check when our Amazon packages arrive :)brbrWe do have an amazing firepit that you are encouraged to use, but the home is BYOF (bring your own firewood). There is firewood available for purchase at various locations near town and at gas station 100 yards from the home.brbrDowntown Bellaire! All the local shops, eateries, brewery, distillery, bars, etc are within walking distance. Right in the action, but at the same time, quiet and quant.brbrPlenty of parking in the large driveway. We recommend walking to town, especially if you're going to visit the brewery & distillery! The Ski Resort, Championship Level Golf Courses, Lake Bellaire Public Access, and the Glacier Hills Trail System are a 5-10 minute drive.brNO PARTIES OR EVENTS WHATSOEVER. We have a ring security camera on-site and are able to see if people outside your group come to the house. Guest numbers should be limited to 8-10 people total unless you have prior approval from the property manager.br• The property sleeps 8-10 guests and should not exceed this number overnight at any time. Unapproved overnight guests will be charged $500.00 per person, per night.br• For insurance purposes, we require the names and ages of all guests staying, along with a separate rental agreement that covers owners should extra charges occur due to not following the house rules. Renters will be responsible for these charges and can pay via check or online payment service.br• Security cameras are installed in non-community areas (house facing driveway and on entry way porch).br• Trash pickup is Monday morning; cans should be placed out by the mailbox the night before. If you fail to put trash out and our cleaning staff has to haul it away, you will be charged a $50.00 disposal fee. This includes any un-bagged trash left at checkout.br• If the cleaning crew exceeds the standard amount of time allotted for cleaning after your check-out, you will be charged for the additional time. Please take care of the rental as you would your own home and follow check-out instructions in the guest handbook. We do require a min of 7 nights during all holidays.
