It is 20 miles long and stretches from Blairsville, GA almost to the NC border. Approximately 70% of it's shoreline is US Forest Service and therefore undeveloped so although there are many homes and boats on the lake you can often find a cove all your own for a peaceful swim. Enjoy a day of fishing for Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted, or Striped Bass, Black Crappie, Yellow Perch, or Catfish. Lake levels are controlled by the Tennessee Valley Authority & fluctuate based on time of year, rainfall, flood control, & power generation.
