There are no major grocery stores or gas stations on the way. The location is better for a stay in/relax/get-a-way from the city type of vacation, with the occasional trip in to town to the wineries/golf courses etc. brbr** Our resort’s new state-of-the-art water treatment facility is now fully operational. While the resort is currently under a water advisory during the startup phase, boiling water is NOT required (but optional). Recent testing has shown no issues and the water quality is as good as or better than before the new treatment plant was built.brbrWe do have a small store at the resort which also has a kitchen (counter service with dining area). Lower pool and hot tub is open approx. May 1 to Canadian Thanksgiving and the upper pool & hot tub are open approx. May 15 to early September. Closures can happen due to maintenance but there will normally be at least one pool and one hot tub open between the start of May and the end of September, but we can not guarantee due to unforseen events.brbr►The fireplace is for decor only. It is a wood burning fireplace, so for liability reasons we ask that guests do not use the fireplace (there are only a couple of wood burning fireplaces in La Casa and one of them had a chimney fire).brbr► *Families with children please read* brCottage is family-friendly but not child-proof. Property is NOT FENCED in and the resort is surrounded by wooded nature. Children must be watched by a capable adult. Also, the lower two bedrooms have patio doors that exit to outside and a large fairly steep hill below. There are two locks on each patio door (standard lock and floor lock), but if your child is an escape artist, this may not be a good fit property. brbr► The resort is in a wooded area that is largely wilderness. As such, it is possible to get 4-6-8 (or more) legged, winged, or crawling visitors both outside and inside. This cannot be 100% prevented even with regular pest control. brbr► Never leave food items in the vehicles, and never leave food, food leftovers, or trash outside. brbrbr► A FEW RULES ◄brbr►This is a family resort, so no parties. Please respect our neighbours, quiet time is between 9am to 10pm. Fines from bylaw will be charged to guest.brbr► Guest will need to sign an e-sign, agree to strata rules, and resort guest registration form via adobe e-sign within 2 days of receipt (guest needs to provide their email address for the e-sign within 24 hours of reservation being accepted).brbr►Minimum age to rent 28. Photo id needed to verify renter name and age of renter.brbr►Guests are responsible to review strata rules and are responsible for any fines imposed by the strata for breaking any strata rule.brbr►Maximum 7 guests, including children/babies and strata fines for over occupancy, which guest is responsible to pay ($200 per fine). Our beautiful lake view cottage is centrally situated 35 minutes between Kelowna and Vernon on West Side Road in the gated community of La Casa Lakeside Cottage Resort. We have everything you will need to have a fabulous vacation in the Okanagan!brbrOur beach-themed cottage has a master suite on the upper level with a new king bed, air conditioning unit and private bathroom. The second bedroom is a quaint, comfortable double bed in the loft area. The third bedroom has a new queen bed and is on the main floor. The couch has a pull out for extra space. Our family-friendly cottage also has a playpen, high chair and baby gate for those with young children. The upper floor master bathroom and the main floor bathroom both are full baths that include bathtubs.brbrAll you need to bring is food and sunscreen, everything else is provided for you in the cottage from cooking utensils to beach towels. Enjoy some wine on the glass-panelled deck, fire up the gas bbq for dinner while watching the sun setting on the lake. If you are looking to work from home, we have wireless Shaw internet (Fibre + Gig plan, up to 1 gb download speeds) that is good to be shared on up to 20 devices.brbrThe location of our cottage is halfway between the beach and the upper amenities. There is a grassy lot across the road that can be used for outdoor games and is a part of the beautiful view of the lake. You can keep an eye on your kids playing while you relax on the deck! At the end of the loop is a trail that takes you on a quick walk down to the beach. *PLEASE NOTE that La Casa is built on a hillside and therefore the walk to the beach and up to the store can be steep. You can choose to drive instead.brbrYou can enjoy the 2 outdoor swimming pools, 3 hot tubs, and a private beach with an aqua-park and marina. The resort also offers mini-golf, volleyball, kids playground, tennis courts, restaurant, convenience/liquor store and entertainment area. As well, you can rent a golf cart from La Casa resort to help you get to all the amenities.brbrDuring the warmer months, there is access to Crown land and the ATV trails that back onto the resort. Go horseback riding at Fintry Farms. At Fintry Provincial Park, just 2 km south of the resort, spend an afternoon, swimming at the sandy beach, visiting the historic Manor house, labyrinth and waterfall or hiking on the many local trails. You can visit over 14 wineries in the area. Golf at Spallumcheen, Predator Ridge or Gallagher’s Canyon.
