The cabin has been newly updated and has large hot tub that sits on a totally private covered deck with mountain views, a relaxing swing and no one in sight!! brbrYou will enjoy the woodland creatures decor throughout the cabin, bears, raccoons, wolves, moose, owls and more!! brbrAs you drive to the cabin, you will see the breath-taking views of the rolling Little Pigeon River! This beautifully decorated cabin is located between Gatlinburg (15 minutes) Pigeon Forge (15 minutes) and only 10 minutes to the grocery store, restaurants, the popular Arts and Crafts Center and awesome scenic trails. brbrThe roads and driveway are all paved with easy access and a paved driveway with parking for up to four vehicles. This is a biker friendly area!! brbrAs you approach the cabin, you will see that Lazy Bear is tucked down away from the sight of the few cabins that are on the road and is on and acre and a half of wooded beauty. brbrWhen you walk in the front door, you will see the regulation size pool table and to the left is the half bath and laundry area. brbrThen, you will walk into the kitchen area with all appliances, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, plenty of dishes and utensils. We have provided a great kitchen island / table and two stools for extra seating. Plus, there is a dining table with four more chairs. You will see beautiful views from the awesome large window and you will love the cathedral ceilings! This cabin is very open an airy and filled with sunlight! brbrThen you can stroll out to the deck, which is our favorite place to hang out at the cabin. Enjoy a soak in the large hot tub, or relax on the swing, and remember, the deck is covered so you cannot see anyone. We even decorated the deck! It is adorable. We added a picnic table for outside dining.brbrAs you return inside the cabin, you will see the loft area and the beautiful hand carved wood bears, raccoons, owls and deer. The living room is to the right.brbrThen, you can go on up to tree house-like the master suite. It is truly romantic with peaceful views throughout the room and of course, you can soak your cares away in the heart shaped Jacuzzi tub. The King size log bed is roomy and very comfortable. There is a full bath upstairs with a full size bathtub/shower. brbrAs you go back downstairs, you will find a queen size sleeper sofa for additional sleeping for two people. brbrWe have provided a charcoal grill for your enjoyment.brbrThere is also a half bath with full sized washer/dryer, iron and ironing board. brbrThere are two flat screen TV's, one in the bedroom and one above the gas fireplace. Direct TV, DVD player in the living room with a great selection of DVDs to watch. We will continue to make improvements to Lazy Bear. Satellite internet is provided, it will not provide streaming content. As of 11/11/24 we added Spectrum Fiber, so your able to stream televisioin. brbrThere are so many fun things to do in the area! There are attractions galore here. We always leave coupons for our guests to use while they are there. There are some wonderful restaurant choices. I don't know why, but the food is so much better there than at home. The shopping is great too and there are so many tourist attractions and theme parks, horseback riding, skiing, hiking, kayaking, golf and again the beauty of the area. I could go on and on telling you why you should stay at Lazy Bear Cabin but they only allow me so many words! :) brbrThis is a great budget vacation destination. It is a 15 min drive or less from both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburgbrbr2 - Unlike most cabins, there is plenty of parking (3 vehicles will fit) since this cabin is the last at the end of the roadbrbr3 - Enjoy 3 stories of living space so everyone has their own space (and most importantly, their own TV ;) )!brbrbr✦ Here are 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting our cabin:brbr1 - Mountain roads in this area are paved but your car will need to climb a steep section of the road to get there. A regular car is just fine to access the cabin most of the year, but in the winter when there is snow/ice it is recommended to have a 4x4 or chains just in case.brbr2 - Like many cabins in this area the kitchen is fun-sized. It is well-stocked with dinnerware and kitchen supplies though and there is a kitchen island for additional counter space.brbr3 - The upstairs is in an open loft, and the other bedrooms have accordion-style doors. You can relax on the main floor deck in rocking chairs and enjoy the picturesque Smoky Mountain cabin atmosphere. The cabin has two master king suites, one on the main level and one on the upper level. The main level suite includes a flat-screen TV and a large bathroom with a jetted tub and a walk-in stand-up shower shared with the main living space. The upper-level suite has a flat-screen, a comfortable futon, and a full bath with a stand-up shower.brbrThe lower level of the cabin features a recreation room with a wet bar, mini-fridge, pool table, brand new shuffle-board table (air hockey has been removed-not pictured), arcade game system with 60 classic games, flat screen TV, pub table, chairs, and extra seating. There is also a full-size washer and dryer for your convenience. The lower level has two queen bedrooms with flat-screen TVs and a shared bathroom. The lower level deck leads to the yard with a charcoal grill, seating, and an outdoor fire pit. Laurel Falls is an excellent choice for families with strollers because the trail is paved and access is easy when pushing a stroller. Another must place to visit while staying in Wears Valley Smoky Mountains is The Sugarlands Visitor Center which is located at the junction of State Hwy 73 and Hwy 441. The Sugarlands Visitor Center is a wonderful place to stop and discover more about the National Park. There are actually 3 hikes that you can enjoy from The Sugarlands Visitor Center: Cataract Falls, Gatlinburg Trail, and Fighting Creek Nature Trail. The Sugarlands Visitor Center is a must stop because this is where you and your family can meet Great Smoky Mountains Park Rangers and learn about the Smoky Mountains before venturing out into the area. The Sugarlands Visitor Center: A resource of knowledge abounds here and is a must especially if you are a first time visitor to the area. brbrIn terms of local dining, Elvira’s Café is a local favorite, as well as Hillbilly's Restaurant. Good Vibes On The River in Townsend is also an up and coming Super Star favorite. The Shaggy Moose Coffee House is a new place in the Wears Valley area to enjoy coffee and pastries. One of our favorite places is on the corner of Wears Valley Road and Line Springs Road and the name is fitting: The Heavenly Roast. Get your cup of Joe on the go and enjoy the flavors of your beverage. We believe that coffee just tastes better in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. brbrThe main attractions of Pigeon Forge (Dollywood, Dollywood Splash Country, Pigeon Forge Snow, Dolly Parton’s Stampede, etc.) are approximately 15 miles from Destination Relaxation. brbr***Pool and fishing pond access is located approximately 10 minutes from the cabin at Honeysuckle Meadows Pool & Deli off of Happy Hollow Road in Wears Valley. brThere in no cost to use the pool or fishing pond. This is included in your rental. Bring your fishing pole and lures if you are planning to fish in this private pond. You do not have to have a fishing license to fish in this specific pond.
