Located in scenic Wears Valley, this luxurious mountain cabin offers the perfect location for families and friends to gather for a week or the weekend. Come relax, unwind, enjoy the mountain view, cookout, soak in the hot tub, play pool, build a campfire and keep an eye out for the amazing mountain bears passing by.

Bears Up There is one of the best Wears Valley cabin rentals in the Smokies. As you enter the cabin, the warmth of southern hospitality surrounds you and the open floor plan spotlights the availability of potential joyous conversations in the great room. Being able to have room to spread out and still be able to communicate with each other is what renting a great family cabin in Wears valley is all about.

Happy Days = Great Lifetime Memories

The fully equipped kitchen, living-room and dining area offer guests togetherness in one large, open area. Seamless conversation flows throughout the cabin. Enjoying one another's company is easy to do when you stay at Bears Up There.

The well-appointed kitchen is ideal for cooking a home cooked meal for family or friends. Perhaps spaghetti, lasagna, house salad, Italian bread and cheesecake are on the menu for one evening, and tacos and burritos another evening. Gathering around and enjoying a meal unrushed in the privacy of your Wears Valley family cabin rentals is the perfect recipe for family bonding.

After dinner, enjoy a cup of coffee while relaxing on the back porch and enjoying the view of the Smoky Mountains after a day of family fun in the Smokies. The screened in – covered back porch can be enjoyed year-round and is the best way to wrap up the day.

Main Level: Located down the hallway on the main level, you will find the following: a 1/2 bath and laundry area combo, pantry, hallway closet, as well as a main level master bedroom.

The finely appointed master bedroom is located at the end of the hallway on the main level. The king size log bed will have you feeling like royalty. The master bath offers an indoor jetted tub as well as a standing shower. After a day of hiking in the Smokies, come home and enjoy a fantastic soak in the indoor whirlpool tub. A glass of wine and a nice bubble bath are the perfect way to end the day.

Attention early morning risers: This main level bedroom offers direct access to the covered back porch area where you can enjoy sunrise each morning of your Smoky Mountain Vacations. Imagine waking up and enjoying a brimming hot cup of coffee while the cabin is still quiet and listening to the sounds of nature as you watch the sun come up over the horizon. The perfect beginning for each day of your family vacation in the Smokies.

Upstairs in the open loft area, enjoy a game of pool with the family or challenge your spouse to a game of Air Hockey. Connect to the cabin's Wi-Fi and make plans for the week's activities. Perhaps a road adventure awaits the family in Cades Cove or even an outing to rafting in the Smokies. Cades Cove is an 11-mile loop road in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and offers a glimpse into the past when pioneers lived on the land and neighbors were connected by church socials or other designated gatherings. Cades Cove Loop Road can be accessed by taking Wears Valley Road into Townsend and follow the signs into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Adjacent to the game room in the loft area, there are 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The bedroom on the right faces West and offers a queen bed and the bedroom on the left faces East and offers a queen size bed. Each bedroom is equipped with a TV.

The outdoor hot tub is located on the screened in, covered back porch. Enjoy the beauty of the Smoky Mountains anytime: rain, snow, sleet, or sunshine.

The outdoor fire pit is a Smoky Mountain family favorite. Gather the family around the outdoor fire pit and enjoy story telling while snacking on some tasty smores. This is what happy memory making is all about. Disconnect from the cellphones and the hectic forces of life and take time to enjoy what is truly important. Family.

If you want to recapture some favorite memories from childhood or create new ones for your family, roast some hot dogs and make an evening of enjoying the outdoors by the fire. Don’t forget the marshmallows. There is nothing that tastes quite like a toasted marshmallow.

***You must provide your own firewood for the fire pit. You may purchase firewood at the gas station or at Knockout Firewood located at 3264 Wears Valley Road. Please, do not bring wood from home.

Bears Up There is approximately 10 miles from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park via Line Springs Road. This is a great location for Wears Valley Cabin Rentals and for families who love the outdoors. Metcalf Bottoms is a fantastic picnic spot in the national park and features tables, grills, and the cool waters of the Little River. Take Line Springs Road for approximately 2 miles and there you will find Metcalf Bottoms - the place to picnic and wade and play in the river.

There are hundreds of hiking trails to enjoy in The Greats Smoky Mountains National Park. Laurel Falls is an excellent choice for families with strollers because the trail is paved and access is easy when pushing a stroller. Searching for a bit of a challenge Alum Cave Bluff is a beautiful trail choice or jaunt on up to Mt Leconte for the day. Take plenty of water and healthy snacks. Another must place to visit while staying in Wears Valley Smoky Mountains is The Sugarlands Visitor Center which is located at the junction of State Hwy 73 and Hwy 441. The Sugarlands Visitor Center is a wonderful place to stop and discover more about the National Park. There are actually 3 hikes that you can enjoy from The Sugarlands Visitor Center: Cataract Falls, Gatlinburg Trail, and Fighting Creek Nature Trail. The Sugarlands Visitor Center is a must stop because this is where you and your family can meet Great Smoky Mountains Park Rangers and learn about the Smoky Mountains before venturing out into the area. The Sugarlands Visitor Center: A resource of knowledge abounds here and is a must especially if you are a first time visitor to the area.

In terms of local dining, Elvira’s Café is a local favorite, as well as Hillbilly's Restaurant. Good Vibes On The River in Townsend is also an up and coming Super Star favorite. The Shaggy Moose Coffee House is a new place in the Wears Valley area to enjoy coffee and pastries. One of our favorite places is on the corner of Wears Valley Road and Line Springs Road and the name is fitting: The Heavenly Roast. Get your cup of Joe on the go and enjoy the flavors of your beverage. We believe that coffee just tastes better in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The main attractions of Pigeon Forge (Dollywood, Dollywood Splash Country, Pigeon Forge Snow, Dolly Parton’s Stampede, etc.) are approximately 15 miles from Destination Relaxation.

***Pool and fishing pond access is located approximately 10 minutes from the cabin at Honeysuckle Meadows Pool & Deli off of Happy Hollow Road in Wears Valley.
There in no cost to use the pool or fishing pond. This is included in your rental. Bring your fishing pole and lures if you are planning to fish in this private pond. You do not have to have a fishing license to fish in this specific pond. However, you will need one if you plan on fishing elsewhere.

Emotional Support Animals: Per official ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidance, emotional support animals (ESAs) are not covered by federal public accommodations laws. Renters with emotional support animals may only bring their ESA with them if they are staying in a pet friendly cabin and pay the relevant $75.00 non-refundable pet fee. We enjoyed our visit and would like to do a return visit sometime. The only issue that we encountered was a plumbing problem, the upstairs tub wouldn’t drain and after the maintenance person came and got the tub to drain, then it wouldn’t hold water to give the grandkids baths.

Our family stayed over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time! The home is beautiful, clean, and family friendly! We loved seeing the beautiful views each morning and the location was great for accessing the national park and Pigeon Forge. We would definitely stay here again!

The cabin no longer has the futon, but is replaced with an air hockey table. You will see bears daily. If you want secluded and want to see wildlife this is the cabin for you! We loved the privacy!

We loved this cabin! The decor is perfect, very woodsy. The owners definitely paid attention to detail in decorating. It felt very private, you cannot see the cabins around you. I spent a lot of time outside sitting on the rocking chairs, staring at the mountains and listening to the birds. Very peaceful. The cabin was immaculate, so clean! We tubed the Little River. The water was down but we still had a nice time. We used the hot tub, very nice. We also took advantage of the Honeysuckle pool. I highly recommend this cabin.

Pleasurable experience with this cabin. Kitchen well stocked with everything you need to cook. Coffee pot is a standard but filters were there. Outside of that bring everything you need like cooking spray and paper towels. Bed was nice and comfortable, tv had netflix and such. Hot tub was nice, and sitting outside drinking coffee for sun rises was wonderful. About 20 min from main strip in town. Limited parking so more than 2 vehicles would be tight. Bring charcoal for grilling outside.

Everything was great! The cabin was clean and cozy! Lots of things to do there for entertainment. Whether it was playing pool or going to the pool. The agents we spoke with were on top of things and took care of the family from the start of the process!
