In between family and friends we are opening our guesthouse, Vogelsang (German for birdsong), to you, and whether you are a couple or solo traveler, we are committed to making you as comfortable as family. brbrThere is ample off street parking, 15 stair steps to the studio and a small deck for enjoying views of Little and Big Phoenix Mountains. Inside is a queen bed with soft sheets, plenty of pillows (you can never have too many pillows), comforter and extra blankets for those cool nights in the mountains. The bath has a shower, toilet, small sink, towels and ample hooks. A dorm frig, microwave, coffee maker and coffee, is in the nook. brbrIf you or your companion are super tall, you may find the 6'9 ceilings confining. The entry door is 5'8 and everyone instinctively ducks, even if they are only 5'2. But once inside, you will find everything you need for a cozy, comfortable stay. Boone is only 30 minutes away and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is only 10 minutes away from the cabin. I do have a property manager locally in the area that is available in case guests need anything Ashe Lake Community of West Jefferson, NC is a private community with a private lake, the only lake in the entire county. The lake has fishing access per a dock at one end of the lake as well as access for any non-motorized boats such as kayaks or canoes. Most of the year, 4WD or AWD is NOT necessary to get up to the house. However, if there is snow or ice, you MUST have 4WD or AWD to get up the final mountain to the house, but easily done in any vehicle any other time other than snow or icy winter conditions. Parking is provided in the circular drive at the cabin and can fit 3-4 vehicles depending on the size of vehicles. Most of the year, 4WD or AWD is NOT necessary to get up to the house.
