Dishwashing detergent, trash bags, and even laundry detergent for our washer and dryer, in case you need to run a quick load of laundry are also available for your convenience. brbrWe have a large flat screenTV in the main living area, and strong Wi-Fi throughout the home. In fact, you can even bring your well behaved dog to a great restaurant that's within walking distance from our house! Our only requirement is that for the comfort and enjoyment of all of our guests, we do not allow dogs on beds at any time. Furniture upgrades in progress for 2023 Season! If you have ever been to Surf City, you are familiar with this this home as it sits in a group of 4 iconic luxury ocean front buildings (which make up 8 luxury ocean front town homes). If you think the photos are good, wait till you see it in person! These large beautify pastel colorful town homes makeup the town shore line and sit on North Shore drive in the 100 block just past Daddy Mac’s. You can truly park your car when you arrive and not get in it again for your entire vacation! Walking distance (1/2 mile or less) to 15 eating establishments from snow cones and ice cream to some of the islands best restaurants! You can even walk to the marina and rent a boat, go out on a fishing charter or take a dinner cruise. Walk to the surf city park and enjoy free Friday night outdoor movies and concerts or just enjoy all that the town has to offer. When you come home you can relax by the private community pool overlooking the beach (Private to the 8 luxury town homes). The pool is just exclusive enough to retain the privacy but gives the children and young adults a chance to make friends quickly. brbrWhile this home has “location, location, location”, the real benefit is the quality of the home itself. The first thing that you will notice is the quality of the construction. The home features porcelain tile and bamboo hardwood throughout, heavy trim work and 10 ft ceilings. The quality construction also includes heavy insulation, so you will immediately be impressed by how quiet the home is (important when you are vacationing with a large group). Each of the 4 main bedrooms is a master (having its own private full bathroom attached). Three of the 4 main bedrooms feature beautiful King size beds with super comfortable mattresses and the 4th bedroom features a two custom built bunk beds: 1 twin XL over Queen and one twin over twin. These beeds have 45inches of head space between the bunks so you don't feel like you are in a bunk bed. The fifth bedroom is on the entry level and has a twin over full bunk to help accommodate the overflow when unexpected additional guests show up (because you know when you have a wonderful place at the beach ….it will happen!). Note that this room does not have a private bathroom, but your guest will find it far superior to a sofa sleeper alternative for your overflow that is offered in many other homes!!) Everyone will appreciate the elevator to move luggage, food and family between floors.brbrWe rented for nearly 30 years before we were finally able to purchase our own rental property in Topsail. We used all that knowledge to make this home a superb rental. Here is what we learned and what we have done to make this home a perfect rental experience for you!brbrAfter location, location, location, comes BEDDING, BEDDING, BEDDING! Ever gone to a great rental only to find that after 2 or 3 nights your body ached due to poor bedding and inferior mattresses You work too hard for your vacation to take a chance. brbrNext is deck furniture! Ever go to a home with little or no deck furniture Or furniture that sits so low you are left looking through the railings like prison bars This home features high top resin deck chairs. These chairs are not only extremely comfortable, they give you a spectacular unobstructed view of the ocean. Enjoy the stunning views from the two covered ocean front decks overlooking the ocean and swimming pool You will never want to go inside!brbrParking is under the home for 3 large cars (or 4 compact cars but it is a tight fit for 4). Overflow public parking directly across the street. There is a charge for public parking March through end of October (subject to change). There is no parking in the common areas. brbrResponsible pet owners may bring their dogs. There is a $200 pet fee per dog, per week. Only the pets of the guest are allowed on the property. No additional pets may be on the property or the decks (i.e no just visiting pets). If undeclared pets are seen on the property, Guest are subject to immediate eviction without refund and a $500 fine per animal in the home or on the property.br

Terrapin Station is just over a mile from the center of Surf City, which is big enough to be competitive, small enough to be happy! Uncrowded beaches with gentle surf make it ideal for families of all ages. The high season is June - September, but this home is available year round. An off-season rental is especially affordable and relaxing. With plenty of restaurants, shops, and other attractions, you can do as much or as little as you like. The one traffic light that was in the center of town has been removed, so forget about traffic. We enjoy surf fishing in the 25 miles of Atlantic Ocean shoreline, and fishing on the sound, which is part of the Intracoastal Waterway. Most any water sport imaginable is available as well as cruises, rental boats, and deep sea fishing. On a trip to the gulfstream on a friend's boat, we came home with a 50-lb cobia!brbrIn the summer the water is warm and generally calm, with just enough wave action to be fun. Paddleboarding is popular both on the ocean and the sound, and when the wind kicks up a bit you'll see the kite boarders and surfers come out. People swim from May to October, with brave souls (and those with wetsuits) out during the rest of the year when the wind and surf is up. Even in the summer the beach is relatively uncrowded, but happening enough to be fun.brbrTerrapin Station is in Surf City, which is roughly the central third of the island. To the south is the town of Topsail Beach, and to the north is the town of North Topsail Beach. There are several guide books for Surf City and the surrounding area in the house. On the Island there are restaurants, shops, and live music, and unique to the area are the Turtle Hospital and the Missiles and More Museum. For restaurants, our favorites are the Shukin' Shack (Oysters, seafood, and general fare); Diver for smoothies, coffee, and sandwiches; Miss Pho (Vietnamese, in Sneads Ferry, about 10 miles away), JM's on the water (Seafood, burgers), and Low Tide (Steak and excellent house-made burgers). The best Mexican place nearby is Cancun in Sneads Ferry, but Margarita's is not bad and within a mile. For a walk-up kind of meal, try Fast Fish for Poke bowls or Shaka Taco, both in Surf City. Both are about a mile away from the house, and are local favorites.brbrTopsail Island is a renowned sea turtle sanctuary (see https://www.seaturtlehospital.org/), with nesting season between mid-May and August. Volunteer spotters walk the beach to find and mark off nests buried in the dunes. The hatchlings come out as a group, following the moonlight into the ocean. Loggerhead turtles have nests on the Island during the summer, and if you're lucky you could witness a hatch!brbrWith a bicycle you can explore the length of the island (about 25 miles), with bike lanes along the major north-south road. Last April your host (a novice rider) did the 26-mile ride to benefit breast cancer research, which is held by the Reel Housewives of Topsail Island. Bicycles and all manner of sporting and beach equipment are available for rental at numerous places on the island.brbrFor golfers, there are a number of good local courses at reasonable rates, and for a real challenge Myrtle Beach is just two hours away. North Shore Country Club is open to the public and is just off the island over the northern bridge, about 15 minutes from the house. There are many more courses within a half-hour in the Hampstead area. Miniature golf for the kids is just 10 minutes away by car.brbrThere is a famous indoor/outdoor skateboard park (the Skate Barn) in Hampstead, about 20 minutes away. The Battleship North Carolina in Wilmington is a unique self-guided tour of a decommissioned WWII ship that is a must-see for folks interested in that sort of thing. Wilmington is about 45 minutes away, and there you will also find the closest movie theater and about any kind of store you would imagine in a fair-sized city.brbrThe house has puzzles, cards, and games for a rainy or rest day, and the Surf City pier and the center of town is about a mile walk. A fun and scenic thing to do is to walk or bike the Surf City bridge. There are both pedestrian and bike lanes laid out on the bridge, and there is parking on the mainland side and in Soundside park on the island. Come and enjoy! We have been coming here for 15 years and haven't run out of things to do!br
