There are free parking options all over town, and you can easily walk to dozens of places while enjoying the breeze from the riverfront and admiring historic homes and general store buildings that date back to the early 1800s. Southport's State Fourth of July Festival is a three-day street fair with artists from all over the state, vendors, and food. Sit in swing in driveway and feel the ocean breezes with a peek-a-boo view of water at end of street. Enjoy fire pit. 2 miles from ferry to Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island - 10 minutes from quiet, uncrowded Oak Island and Caswell Beaches. Come experience Southport from my quiet home nestled under the oaks. This is where I had my daughter, raised chickens and walked the waterfront for 20 years. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we have. I have tried to make it comfortable and welcoming - and furnished with everything you will need on your stay.
