Guests rave about the relaxing screened porch with the Where Have You Been All My Life hanging bed and the new back yard firepit. Come, relax and enjoy! brbrLocated in the Tranquil Harbor section of Oak Island, the home is 5 blocks from the beach where you can view the most unforgettable sunsets. The home is just around the corner from ICW and the free public boat launch so bring your kayaks or boat. Located on a quiet residential street, it is an easy stroll or bike ride to several restaurants, Publix, Food Lion, Dairy Queen and shopping. Southport is just a short drive away for a day of shopping, dining, or a trip to Bald Head Island by ferry. If you are more adventurous, take the Fort Fisher ferry to Carolina Beach and have a drink at the tiki bar on the beach, or drive to Wilmington and explore the battleship and all the unique areas Wilmington has to offer. brbrThe welcome information provides all you need to know about easy access public beach parking, places to eat and things to do. If you are interested in renting bikes, kayaks and other beach toys we can help you arrange for them to be delivered to the house. Please just ask. brbrThe home has been stylishly decorated with maximum comfort in mind. Guests often comment on the cleanliness, comfortable beds and attention to detail. The house is only a 6 steps off the ground and all one level inside; perfect for guests with some mobility issues. There are three bedrooms that sleep six people total with king bed, a queen bed, and two twin beds. There is a master bathroom and a shared hall bathroom for the other two bedrooms. An outdoor shower is available to rinse off the salt and sand at the end of a day at the beach. Enjoy the backyard fire pit on a cool evening, or the piece de resistance, the screened porch with its table for six and a hanging bed. Take a nap or even spend the night on it. I promise the cool breeze of ocean air and the sounds of the island will lull you to a blissful sleep. The house comes with a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of other creature comforts to make you feel right at home. There is high speed Wifi at the house and with a smart TV with access to local channels and an ability to sign into your streaming apps. If you elect to disconnect, there are books and games available too. brbrAll linens and bath towels are included, as is body wash, shampoo, conditioner, kitchen soap, and cleaning supplies. We will provide you with a couple rolls of paper towels and toilet paper and trash bags to get you started. We do not provide beach towels so please don't forget to bring them with you. Please also plan to bring whatever else you need for the beach with you (or I can tell you where to rent beach stuff). brbrThe Bean is located 2 hours from Raleigh, 3 ½ hours from Charlotte and an easy 7 hour drive from the DMV metro area. There is no excuse not to visit this beautiful island. brbrA few days before your arrival we will send the code for the door and all the check-in procedures. It is very easy. You arrive, let yourself in and your vacation has begun. No keys to worry about. We are available to answer any questions you may have, so don't hesitate to ask. We want you to love the house and the area as much as we do! If we are not on the island ourselves, we have a house manager that is just minutes away if necessary. brbrWe ask for you to keep the number of guests to 6 or less, though we will permit an additional child under 2 years old over and above the 6 guest limit. brbrWhile our guests have full run of the house, we ask that you please respect the locked closet and shed. brbrOTHER THINGS TO NOTE:brBusy Season (May – August): We require a 3 night minimum. Any bookings made outside these parameters will be cancelled unless pre-approved by us first. brbrOff Season (September – April): We require a 2 night minimum. If arriving late at night, please be respectful of our neighbors. They all live there full-time and we want them to continue to like us. Checkout is 10am. While we try to accommodate our guests as much as possible, check-in and check-out times during the busy season are strictly adhered to due to the short amount of time we have to prepare the house for the next guests. brbrPets: This is a no pet rental. Please don't ask if we will make an exception for your little Boo Boo because he is the best behaved dog ever. He is still a dog and we don't accept them. brbrTravel Insurance: All guests are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance prior to their trip in case of emergency trip cancellation. This is especially crucial during hurricane season. brbrDeposit - If you are new Air B&B please rest easy that the security deposit is not processed unless there's a problem after you leave. This money is not taken out of your account in advance. You may exhale now. brbrI am a text or phone call away. I have a house manager very nearby if I am personally not on the island. brbrThere is a nature center, public boat access, and public pier just a few home sites away. We walk to the beach for exercise in the morning but carrying a donkey load of beach things on your back can make for an angry jaunt. Your car may be better than your back for long days on the shore. No loud shenanigans after 10 pm or midnight games of tag please...our neighbors will call us if the rukus gets to rukusitable. Hashtag sad face if the po po show show. brbrWhile the house may be walking distance for some from the beach, restaurants and even a grocery store, a car is highly recommended to get around the island. The house has enough parking for three cars. brbrREAD THE HOUSE MANUAL for Things Not To Forget! during the stay such as beach umbrellas, coolers for the beach, beach towels, sunscreen, food to eat, toiletries, etc. Check in and out procedure listed there also. You can do absolutely everything on this island or nothing at all. Our home is perfect for small families, girls or guys weekends, or couple getaways. It's just not for smoking, raucous parties or inconsiderate people. If you are prone to any of those please don't make a reservation neither you nor I will be happy.

Pool and hot tub are open year-round. The pool can be heated March - May and September - November (as long as outdoor temperatures stay above 55 degrees). Outdoor lighting around the pool make this awesome place to gather in the evening! The private dock is right on the water, perfect for fishing or catching fresh blue crab. You may see the occasional kayaker passing by, and the beautiful native birds doing a little fishing of their own!brbrThere is also a picnic table under the front of the house, which is a great spot for lunches after returning from the beach, or playing cards in the evening. Cornhole boards, beach chairs, cooler, wagon, and kids toys are provided for use during your stay! A 3-burner propane gas Weber grill is located in the pool area.brbrInside, each master bedroom has Queen beds with very comfortable, brand new high-quality pillow-top mattresses, and hotel quality pillows.
