Ridgeview is an entire mountainside for your private use!! Nothing like most rentals, with a single cabin resting on a half acre lot with little to do outside its doors. This property includes a main house, a guest house, a creek, a tree house, a mile of hiking trails that lead to the top of a mountain with views in every direction, and a massive amount of mature forest with outstanding scenery. It sits just 4 miles from Boone city limit.brbrRidgeview Estate sits in a lush elevated valley overlooking the mountains and ridge between Valle Crucis and Grandfather Mountain. It is adjacent to The Summit at Echota. This amazing and super-private property encompasses 43 acres, with a winding rocky stream, a pond, three natural springs, an entire mountainside, massive boulders, and over a mile of hiking trails. One trail rises 450 feet to the mountain's very summit. This place is beautiful in every season. brbrA 4WD vehicle is USUALLY not required (we drive a mini-van when go there). brbr*** HOWEVER*** If there is significant snowfall or ice, a four-wheel COULD be needed for the gravel drive (0.6 miles to the house itself). brbrOrdinary rain and non-winter weather conditions are fine for 2WD. There are truly no steep grades. Nevertheless, a couple of spots could be a challenge for 2WD vehicles if there is packed snow or ice on the drive.brbrA well-maintained asphalt road, Clark's Creek Road, provides excellent access to the mountain from highway 105, the highway linking Boone to Grandfather Mountain and the ski resorts. Clark's Creek Road also serves residents of two large Echota developments, so winter road maintenance is very good. The driveway to our property is a maintained gravel road with gentle slopes, leading you alongside a stream through unspoiled forest to a wonderful, private, lush destination at its end. brbrThere are two separate houses. Our cozy and well-furnished main house has two bedrooms, each with a full bath. All mattresses and bedding are brand new in late 2023. You will be comfortable! There are beautiful hardwood floors, central HVAC, and a wood-burning fireplace serving an open design dining room, living room, and kitchen. Outside, we have a great deck area with a hot tub, outdoor lighting, seating, and also two covered porches with excellent views. brbrThe well-designed kitchen has granite countertops, nice cabinetry, a high-quality gas range, and an array of cooking equipment. Enjoy awesome picture-window views from the comfort of the living area overlooking the distant mountain ridge. At night you will see the twinkling lights from homes at the Hound Ears resort. It has its own wide, covered front porch overlooking the main house, the surrounding grounds, and with outstanding long-range views to the east. brbrOne of the bedrooms features a queen size bed (new mattress and bedding) and pretty furnishings, plus a 40 smart TV. The second bedroom is flexible: it provides an extremely solid (and TRULY quite comfortable!) full-size futon bed. If desired, the futon converts to a comfortable sofa, thereby creating a nice living room for guests. There are nice room furnishings, another large Smart TV, and this room has a small refrigerator and a microwave for your convenience. Although you are visiting the mountains, it’s a fairly easy drive to our home, since we are located in the valley and not up a steep mountain road. Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain Ski Resorts are both just outside of Banner Elk. Boone is 10 miles away where Appalachian State University is located. Tweetsie Railroad amusement park is 13 miles away, and beautiful Blowing Rock is 16 miles away. And you can jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway from several different spots around the area. Grandfather Mountain is a must-see that is also nearby. brbrBut you really might not want to leave Valle Crucis! Some amenities are seasonal and/or subject to certain hours of operation.br• All BRMR homes have well-stocked kitchens with everything needed to prepare meals. There is a “starter set” (enough for one, maybe two nights) of paper products, including a roll of toilet paper per bathroom and paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, makeup remover cloths, hand soap, several garbage bags, a small container of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, and some laundry pods. Towels and linens are provided. br• Check-in: After 4 pm, Check-out: 10 ambr• Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by the Host (Property Manager); entry information will not be sent unless signed. br• Must be at least 25 years old to reserve; person reserving must sign the agreement and must be one of the guests staying at the property for the reserved dates. br• Firewood may be added at the time of booking, under “Additional Fees,” or by contacting BRMR at least a week prior to arrival. Two wrapped bundles and fire starter - $25 plus tax, per night.br• Please be advised that private ATVs are not permitted in the community and will be denied entry at the gates.br• The main roads are plowed in winter. However, 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November through March. Chains may also be necessary to access properties during the winter. As outlined in the Rental Agreement, refunds, allowances, or date changes will not be allowed for travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle. br• Concert events are open to all guests with a cash bar for food and drinks. (There may be a small admission fee per person.)br• Although Walker's Ridge has high-speed internet; some areas of travel on the mountain may not have cell reception.br• Eagles Nest is a growing community and construction noise may be heard Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. brbrADDITIONAL NOTES:br• Parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy are not allowed in this home at any time. br• No smoking or vaping of any kind inside the home; no trace of smoking left outside the home.br• All trash must be bagged and placed inside the trash can, inside the metal bear-proof enclosure. Do not leave any food or trash outside, including the car, as it attracts animals. br• Although the homeowner's dog has been in the home (never on beds or furniture), this home is not pet friendly for new reservations. Thank you for understanding and cooperating. br• Exterior security cameras are installed for safety. There are two Ring doorbells installed at the front doors, three floodlight cameras on the front of the house (facing the driveway and trash can area) to provide light and security at night, and a fourth floodlight camera between the house and garage, facing the road. None of the cameras monitor gathering areas, including decks, hot tub, firepit, or interior of the home.
