We find ourselves hanging outside after a great day on the Seneca Lake wine trail or a hike on the local trails. We provide grilling utensils, a 12 frying pan & a rubber spatula so you can cook up some breakfast or grill up some hot dogs and burgers outside at your cabin. This cottage built in 1902 takes you back in time. The Rocks, set in the woods and overlooking the lake, provides a peaceful setting for one to appreciate nature. Sit on the front porch and listen to the birds or watch a magnificent sunset. Because this is an older cottage, you must bring your own drinking water. If you are looking for an upscale, modern place, then you may want to stay elsewhere. BUT if you want to relax and capture a bygone era, you will love The Rocks.brbrThe spacebrThere is a lovely porch, a back patio, a comfortable living room, a dining room with a table for 9 and a well equipped kitchen. On the second floor in the main house, you will find 4 bedrooms and the half bathroom. Harriet’s Room has a queen bed with a window air conditioner. The Children’s Room has 2 twin beds and the Blue Room has 2 twin beds. The Yellow Room has 1 twin bed. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and old fashion claw foot tub. In order to get to an extra room that is attached to the side of the house, you walk out the kitchen door, go 8-10 steps and walk into the Albert Lyman Room. There you will find a bedroom with a queen bed and the bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink.brbrBecause this is an older cottage, there isn’t a modern HVAC system. There is a great gas burning fireplace, electric baseboard heat in the living and dining room as well as space heaters in the bedrooms for chilly nights. The cottage doesn’t have air conditioning, other than in Harriet’s Room. Usually, there are nice breezes from the lake.brbrWhen you rent The Rocks, you have full use of the entire house, the 90’ of lake frontage, the dock and 1.5 acres of property.brbrThere is comfortable parking for at least 4 cars. The lower part of Warner Road has concrete water diverters and may scrape the bottom of low to the ground vehicles. The drive down the tree lined road to the cottage is magical on sunny days. If you are lucky, you will see chipmunks, rabbits, woodpeckers and owls just before the cottage and lake come into view. You will enjoy the large beach area, the dock, the 4 parking spaces and the 1.5 acres of woods.brbrThere are about 20 steps to the beach. This lake home sits on the eastern shores of Seneca lake. There is a boat house on the beach that holds fun water toys including 2 paddle boards, 3 kayaks, a paddle boat and many different floats. There are 6 life jackets. The dock area has plenty of seating. For someone wanting to dock their motorboat we have two boat lifts and mooring whips that can hold a boat temporarily for a visitor. On the beach we have a fire ring for our guests and cut firewood is on the property. brThere is a separate bedroom which feels like a little apartment with a king-sized bed, 1/2 bath, TV and coffee nook. This is accessed by going outside under one of the porches to the lower level. There are many different seating areas with tables on each level. br The lower-level porch also has a hot tub, hammock, porch swing and has its own beverage refrigerator. Enjoy the hot tub which feels wonderful anytime of the day. There is a washer /dryer in the full bathroom, on the main level of the house with laundry soap and drier sheets provided. There is a new couch which has three electric recliners, USB ports and seats 6. Upon request a highchair and pack-n-play are available. The water is drinkable from any sink due to a UV light/ filtration system. The neighbors are wonderful if ever needed but not intrusive. Built in the 1890s, this was a hardware store until my grandfather closed it in the mid 1970s, converting it into three apartments. Cranberry Creek is the original name of the creek located at the far edge of the property that becomes Hector Falls. Please remember that this is still my home, and I have another tenant.
