If you happen to enjoy vino, there are over 25+ different beautiful properties to experience live music, food, local wine and cider within minutes. And if you happen to enjoy both, your in luck! The Leelanau TART trail is only 20 minutes away and spans from Suttons Bay to Traverse City while crossing a variety of wine, cider, micro brew and food establishments. Most with stunning views of the rolling country side or Suttons Bay and beyond into Lake Michigan.brbrAfter you enjoy your adventures in the surrounding area, you can relax at this quiet, comfortable, freshly developed property with 2 bedrooms and an open living-dining floor plan looking out into the the peaceful woods and field beyond. There is a fully stocked kitchen with a large 72x36 butcher block island for preparing meals or coming together for drinks & snacks. A 55 TV & Wifi should keep you well connected and you have access to the stacked washer and dryer if needed. The bathroom features an easy to enter stand up tile shower and plenty of lighting. The king bed can be split into (2) singles if needed. Please let us know at time of booking otherwise it will stay as a king. Each room has its own remote control and mini-split for 3 separate climate zones.brbrThe back yard looks out into the park and over Little Traverse lake while providing a grill, table w/umbrella and chairs to relax and get out of the sun. There is also a small fire pit when winding down after a long day of adventures. brbrWe love our pets and they are always welcome but we also know what its like to keep things clean when they are around so there is a $50 pet cleaning fee for the extra work involved. Please use the dog run and pick up after each deposit and keep your pet on a leash any time they are not hooked up to the dog run. If your furry friend likes to cuddle up on the couch, please make sure use the couch cover we provide. Please do not leave your pet alone for any amount of time if they are anxious or barkers. There are local dog resorts and sitters available, to include us, schedule permitting. Located at Sugar Loaf in central Leelanau County near Cedar, MI. The Sugar Loaf property has been designated as apart of the Leelanau Conservancy. This is exciting news for its future. Enjoy the National Lakeshore or Sleeping Bear Dunes from our location. Depending on summer traffic Sugar Loaf is 15 minutes from Glen Arbor, 20 to 25 minutes from downtown Traverse City & 10 minutes south of Leland! brWe have been visiting and vacationing in Leelanau County and the region for many, many years. Close friends purchased a unit (E#5) which is VRBO #859336 at Sugar Loaf 11 years ago. brWe so loved the location that we purchased our town house in December 2017. Since then we have completed extensive renovations and updates. As with any home there is always more to do. brOur kitchen remodel includes new cabinetry, quartz countertop, and all Frigidaire Gallery appliances: dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and convection stove with a smooth cook top. We have tried to make our unit welcoming, fresh and give you a feel for the Leelanau life. The flooring through-out the first level for ease of upkeep is a barn wood style vinyl laminate. Above the gas fireplace is a 50 Samsung flat screen television. Not that you will have much time for tv. The first level also includes a half-bath, a counter height round table with seating for 4, plus we have 4 stools at the counter for additional seating.brWe offer WIFI & two Smart televisions.brUpstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a king bed (master) and one with a queen bed. There also is the option of an Aerobed queen size mattress. It is easy to inflate & deflate. Each bedroom has private bathroom. There also is a Samsung television and cable box in the master bedroom. brWe have freshened up the two bedrooms with new comforters, bedding, towels, etc. each also has a hair/blow dryer. There is an iron and ironing board in the master bedroom closet. brOutside the sliding glass doors we have a small patio area with a KitchenAid gas grill, side table, small table with umbrella, 6 chairs and a view of the pool. Grilling accessories are available in the storage closet. brFYI: There is a no charcoal grills and no fire pits policy at Sugar Loaf. This is specified in the Sugar Loaf Association's By-Laws. brWe also are fortunate to have the patio flanked by two beautiful shade trees. The pool is open seasonally and guests are provided an access code. There are multiple beaches nearby including Good Harbor Beach when you would like to get some sand between your toes. brSugar Loaf has a near by golf course, & hiking. brThe Leelanau area is a biking paradise and this year there are racks to store your bikes near the units. brPets: As much as we love pets, we are declining all requests to bring pets. Additionally, brthe Sugar Loaf Association's By-Laws, don't allow. brSmoking: This is a no smoking unit and that includes the space outside the unit. This includes e-cigarettes, etc. brWasher - Dryer: As of March 2019, we have a full-size stackable Samsung washer & gas dryer in the downstairs closet. Laundry pods and dryer sheets provided, as feasible. brParking: There is a large parking lot so if you are traveling with a boat, pontoon, camper or trailer there is available parking.brMore Details:brAssorted kitchen spices, herbs, cooking supplies are in the cupboards. The fridge contains basic condiments too. It seemed easier to provide Costco size ketchup, relish, mustard versus every guest bringing their own. Fresh herbs are available (as they survive) in small pots on our patio.brSmall Appliance's Available: Keurig (pods are not provided), Cuisinart Insulated Coffee Maker (coffee on your own), Oster Blender, Cuisinart Hand Mixer, Cuisinart Mini Food Chopper, toaster and electric griddle. brBeach and Pool Update: The pool will is available from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekend.brAs of this time we have several beach towels and a beach mat. If you like to fish, swim, shop, hike, go to festivals, wineries or just hang, this is the perfect spot. This wonderful cottage is located on the southwest side of beautiful South Lake Leelanau. This is an all-sports lake with great fishing, water sports, and sightseeing. You can explore more than 20 miles of shoreline, visit North Lake Leelanau, or dock your boat in the quaint town of Leland and shop in 'Fishtown'. brbrThe cottage is located on a small access road which is about three miles north of the town of Cedar. It is a two-story house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms are all upstairs, and one full bath upstairs, and one full bath downstairs. The lake area in front of the cottage is beautiful, with about a two-mile expanse across the lake. brbrThe cottage is directly on the lake (there is no road between the cottage and the lake) and the water is about 80 feet from the cottage. Large trees at the water's edge provide cool shade on summer days. The lake bottom is sandy, with a very gradual drop off (about three-feet deep at 100 feet from shore). The shoreline is grass up to water's edge.brEnjoy wonderful sun and moon-rises from your wrap-around porch. Truly a functional and lovely get-away. The Barefoot Cottage sits on a private road off S Lakeshore Dr within walking distance to Belago Winery!brbrBoating on Lake Leelanau is great! The water is clean and clear. The narrows that connects the North lake and the South lake is quite pristine. You will see lily pads, ducks, Mommy goose and babies following. You can boat up the Leland River dock up and visit Leland, historic Fishtown where you can shop and eat. You can also dock in the narrows in the town of Lake Leelanau and walk to St Marys Catholic Church, Capital Dog, Dicks Pour House, Fiddleheads, NJS Grocery, The Boathouse & Sol Squeeze wineries & Northern Lights Distillary. Drive 4 miles to Good Harbor Beach on Lake Michigan, 15 minutes to downtown Leland/Fishtown to the northwest, Glen Arbor to the south or the Village of Lake Leelanau to the north, 22 minutes to Suttons Bay, 25 minutes to the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb and 30 minutes to Traverse City. brbrModern and fully stocked kitchen with granite island and slate appliances.
