Good for a couple looking for a quiet getaway on the coast of Maine or for a family with lots of kids ready for Downeast Adventures on local trails and ponds, or in Acadia National Park. The views from the large living room windows and from the private backyard are stunning. The mountains of Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island, and Frenchman’s Bay are just RIGHT THERE! brbrbrbrThe home itself is charming, comfortable and it makes for a lovely vacation getaway. Sea breezes keep the home cool during the day and we slept with the windows open to hear the fantastic birdsong coming from the yard and “nearby natural gardens”. The kitchen, which includes a full refrigerator and a wonderful full stove was fun to prepare seafood and other meals. We even made a tasty apple pie from apples from the tree in the yard. The well-appointed and comfortable living room made for a fun place to play games, read, and watch videos. It was also a great place to just hang out, eat lunch in the big bay window and watch the local wildlife taking advantage of the fruits of the apple tree that is just feet from the living room window (including a very happy porcupine that would climb into the tree for an apple treat!). brbrbrbrWe appreciated the easy drive to Acadia Schoodic Point, Blue Hill and other places along the Downeast coast. The local public swimming pond is just 5 minutes away and is a great place to swim, kayak, or just cool off in the shade of the mature trees. From the house, we walked down to the nearby public tidal cove (easy 10 minute walk) daily and enjoyed the sunrises and the sunsets from both there and from the house. This vacation home has it all. We were charmed by the Plum Way vacation home and we think you will be, too!”

Close to Bar Harbor & everything you need but you may just want to hang out and enjoy the peace & quiet.brbrWe are usually quite prompt by email or text whenever we are awake (6:30 am to 9:30 pm EST most days). We love talking about Acadia and all its natural and manmade treasures, so we always enjoy interacting with guests. We can direct you to enjoy the area like a local, no matter what you like to do, and we always love hearing about gems our guests find that we have not discovered. brbrAlthough we try to think of everything, people’s needs change, and we are always looking to improve the experience.brbrbrWe have our have our own very private, rocky beach. We are also walking distance to a town beach and park. We often tell people that if they walk the beach everyday, they “may” see a few other people. You can search for sea glass along our shoreline.brbrThe roads in the area also create a nice 2-mile loop that is fairly flat which is great for walking, jogging or biking. Blunt's Pond, a lovely clean freshwater pond for swimming, is a short 3-mile drive.brbrbrbrbrYou will have full access to everything in the house but one owner's closet. You can store bikes in the garage but no vehicles.
