We have had many long-term guests. brbrA classic Italianate home, newly remodeled with Art Deco and Italian appointments, Bella Vista del Mare is a stunning, waterfront, luxury rental property overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Mesa in Santa Barbara. Elegant European styling and modern amenities come together to bring the glamour and gracious living of a past era to life for a sophisticated clientele. This unique four bedroom, three bath single-story home sits on one-third of an acre. Picture windows and skylights throughout fill the clean, modern interior with natural light. There are ocean views from the spacious Living Room, the Gourmet Kitchen, the Dining Room, Primary Bedroom, Peacock Bedroom and Peacock Bathroom. The North Bedroom has its own private entrance. All of these bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The Studio Bedroom has its own private entrance through a private courtyard. It includes a Kitchenette with granite wet bar area, wine fridge, microwave, extensive cabinetry, and its own separate water/dryer. Adding in the Den and the Living Room, you have a total interior living space of 2,800 square feet, with ample room for up to seven guests. The house is fully stocked, and is equipped with state-of-the-art electronics and appliances. The entire property is gated, and because it is situated back from the bluff's edge, even the garden and terrace are sheltered from the windswept point where pelicans pass by. The garden is planted with native and Mediterranean plants that attract countless hummingbirds, butterflies and songbirds. With four chaise lounges and a hot tub overlooking the garden, the ocean view terrace is a quiet and lovely spot to unwind.brbrWe are now catering to stays of three months or longer and many of our guests stay for extended periods of time. Seasonal rates may apply. brbrNear the Thousand Steps Beach access, and Shoreline Park with its sweeping ocean vistas, the property is close to both Leadbetter Beach and the Santa Barbara Harbor. It is ideally situated if you are looking for any of the many coastal sports and activities that Santa Barbara is known for. If you're staying on the Mesa, a two minute drive will take you to the wide variety of shops and restaurants that are located in the Mesa Business District. Heading toward downtown, a three minute drive will take you to the start of the Cabrillo Boulevard Tourist Corridor, and a five minute drive will take you to Sterns Wharf and the Dolphin Fountain at the bottom of State Street, which is the heart of Santa Barbara.brbrThree of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, ample closet space, a Sonos sound system, and a 'hotel' safe. The Primary Bedroom has a king-sized bed, an extensive workstation, flat screen TV, Sonos sound system, ocean and garden views, and an en suite bathroom. It is secluded at the back of the house, and has direct access to the hot tub. The Peacock Hallway Bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a Sonos sound system, ocean and garden views, and a tub in the adjoining bathroom. The North Bedroom has a king-sized bed, a flat screen TV, a Sonos sound system and a private entrance. The Studio Bedroom has a flatscreen TV, Sonos sound system, its own washer/dryer, and a Kitchenette, which includes a wine fridge, microwave, granite wet bar area, and extensive cabinetry. All of our mattresses are organic and wonderfully comfortable All three bathrooms have showers and are filled with Italian marble, ceramic tile, and modern Italian Art Deco chrome fixtures, as well as hardwood vanities and countertop stone washbowls. The Primary and North Bathrooms are equipped with lighted vanity mirrors. The Peacock Hallway Bathroom has a tub and a view of the ocean. The interior is lit throughout with chrome and crystal sconces, and a chandelier in the foyer. brbrA jetted hot tub off of the Primary Suite accommodates up to six people. It is situated on the south-facing flagstone terrace, which overlooks the garden and the ocean, and has four chaise lounges and a large umbrella. The garden lies near the cliff's edge, yet it is fully enclosed. The outdoor dining area seats six, and has a gas grill. Three classic Schwin beach cruiser bicycles, a boogie board, beach chairs, a cooler, a beach umbrella, and beach towels have also been provided. There is a 2 car garage, and parking for three vehicles in the gated motor court. There is an EV charger in the motor court, and ample no-limit street parking is available across the street. brbrInside, the home is equipped with state-of-the-art electronics for entertainment and security throughout. In addition to smoke detectors throughout the house, the fire alarm system is remotely monitored 24 hours a day. There is a modern gas fireplace in the living room, and HD satellite television is available on five flat screen TVs. All of our TVs (46'- 60' in size) are 'smart,' all of our DVDs will accommodate HD and Blu-ray films, four of our satellite boxes have recording capability, and there is a small library of classic films available on DVD. We also provide high-speed internet throughout the house. The Sonos sound system (“every song on earth in every room of your house”) can play the same music or varying music, throughout the house in six different locations. It is controlled with an app on your smart phone. Three landline telephones are available to make local calls. Many board games and a small library of books are available, including several books on local attractions and Santa Barbara history. There are two large workstations: one in the Den, and one in the Primary Bedroom. The other two bedrooms also have task areas.brbrFor the health and comfort of our guests, the home is equipped with a whole house filtered water system and a soft water system. Additionally filtered drinking water is also available in the kitchen. Throughout the house, whenever possible, we select natural cleaning products that are hypoallergenic, free of harsh chemicals and additives, biodegradable, and not tested on animals. There are two conveniently located front-loading washers, and two dryers. We also provide an iron and an ironing board.brbrThe gourmet kitchen has state-of-the-art appliances, dramatic Brazilian soapstone countertops, Italian marble floors, and beautiful dark-wood cabinetry. The appliances include a quiet, efficient Bosch dishwasher, two Electrolux ovens, a six-burner Dacor gas cook top with griddle, a GE Profile microwave, a stand alone Electrolux refrigerator and a stand alone Electrolux freezer. The freezer ice maker also has its own filtered water system. Coffee can be made using our espresso machine with built-in coffee grinder, or a traditional drip coffee maker. A mixer, blender, food processor, toaster and toaster oven are also available. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glasses, utensils and cookware. There is a full range of gourmet spices, condiments and other fine culinary basics. The dining room seats eight, and there is additional seating for three at the adjoining kitchen island. The outdoor dining area seats six.brbrForced air heating is available in four different zones of the house. Air Conditioning is available in the Primary Suite and the Den. All linens and towels have been provided. All of our mattresses are organic, wonderfully comfortable, and encased in dust mite-resistant covers. We provide European down comforters (also in dust mite-resistant covers) and 100% cotton blankets. Our bedding comes from the Vera Wang Collection.
