Welcome to your garden house in downtown San Luis Obispo. If you are person who enjoys walking everywhere, then this is the place for you. Due to city regulations our house does have a 30 night minimum stay requirement. The house is a 10 minute walk to downtown (shopping, bars, restaurants, historic mission, art galleries), a 9 minute walk to the closest brewery, 6 minutes to the closest restaurants and coffee shops and a 2 minute walk to groceries and a pharmacy. The location is ideal for easy living. The house is full of natural light from large windows that open to the garden. The San Luis Obispo Creek meanders through the property, providing habitat for all sorts of birdlife. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and catch some sun in the front yard garden and end your day with a glass of wine taking in the lushness of the back patio. Beaches, wineries, hiking and the all that San Luis Obispo has to offer is a short drive away. The dining room table seats four and is surrounded by top to bottom windows, giving you a lovely view of the garden's activity. The downstairs bedroom has a comfy queen bed, soft linens, a large closet, built in drawers and a sliding door that opens to your patio and garden. The upstairs bedroom is a loft that opens to the living room. It has a comfy full bed, a walk-in closet and a robust library, including kids books. There is a convenient washer and dryer just steps away in garage. The homeowners live on the property, but the houses are separate. brbrOne well behaved dog that gets along with other dogs are welcomed. We have many dogs in our neighborhood. The yard is fenced for a large dog, but a small dog could pass through the gate. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their dog and for any damage their pet may cause. brbrParking is always available on the street. Please note that there is a 30 night minimum. The downstairs bedroom/guest room/playroom has a Murphy bed and has its own entrance and bathroom. Upstairs is the large primary suite with mountain views. Also upstairs are two smaller bedrooms, which share a bathroom, linen storage and laundry facilities. All bedrooms have a ceiling fan, desk, desk lamp, comfortable arm chair, side table, a dresser, two sets of linens and a night stand. Despite its central location, the house is situated on a quiet street without heavy traffic. The living room features a flatscreen TV, HD DirecTV, and full sized sofa. Each of the bedrooms features a very comfortable queen sized bed (1 sleigh bed and 1 brass bed). There is also a desk in the primary bedroom. It’s a cozy little house ideal for families or friends. As it is an older home, it has its quirks! A couple things to be aware of: 1. the water pressure in the shower can be low. Avoid running other water during shower time. 2. The Bay Area is nice, but there’s something about the small town vibes of San Luis that keep you from missing the Bay Area traffic. brWe bought the DownTown house in 2013, rented it out for a year, fixed it up, landscaped it, and moved in. First time we had ever lived in a downtown location. We actually felt kind of hip at times. brbrIf you’re looking for a quiet get away by a flowing stream, this may not be for you! If you want the urban downtown experience in a laid back town, in a cute early 1900’s home, and are ok with the city noises - then this will definitely work. Countertops crafted out of 100+ year old barn wood. brbrForced Air including Air Conditioning. Funny you wouldn’t think you need this in SLO, but downtown can get warm. AC is a plus.brbrInside laundry center. It’s small, but it’s a nice convenience not usually seen in these old homes. brbrLocation – Right downtown! It’s a fantastic launching pad for visiting the city and county of San Luis Obispo. It’s just a 100 steps from the back door to a hip coffee shop – Black Horse. Four blocks to the hippest coffee shop – Scout. A block to the best tri-tip sandwich at Firestone Grill. A great park right around the corner. Great hiking right from the front door. Gus Grocery Sandwiches a nice 3 block walk. Terrace Hill is a 2 mile loop with great views of town. Wineries within 10 minutes. Beach within 15 minutes. Bike from house.
