brbrIMPORTANT: IF BRINGING A DOG TELL US BEFORE YOU ARRIVE (PET FEE WILL APPLY)brbrConveniently located off Highway 49 in California's Gold Country, on a historic parcel known as Trabucco Gardens. brbrDuring the Gold Rush days, Trabucco Gardens was a parcel of land cultivated as a vegetable garden, while Forty-Niners discovered gold in the area. The historic rock walls on property mark the perimeter where the garden once grew.brbrThe joy of discovery continues here today. Now you can discover the vast riches our universe has to offer. Trabucco Gardens, located on 17 acres, provides you with a grand opportunity to stargaze using the observatory telescope. The robotic GO-TO telescope is available during your stay, and included in the rental cost. The open, rural nature of the property, which is considered above the fog and below the snow, provides you with many clear night opportunities, even in winter.brbrThe Trabucco Gardens House, newly constructed in 2007, is well appointed and available year round. Mariposa, the county seat, which is 10 miles south, has many essential services, along with many wonderful dining, shopping, and historic sightseeing experiences. Yosemite National Park's West entrance is located about 45 minutes away up Highway 140 from Mariposa.brbrWe provide housekeeping service (not daily maid service), before and after your stay. Courtesy towels, paper products, coffee, tea, cocoa and guest soap are provided to welcome you on the day you arrive. Personal key code access provides you with convenience and security. Along with a fold-away sofa bed in the living room, a queen-sized inflatable Aero-Bed is provided for extra sleeping accommodations.brbrBecause of the rural nature of the area, there is abundant opportunity for wildlife sightings, such as deer, wild turkey, coyote, bobcat, birds of prey, and perhaps an occasional bear. Seasonal creeks at the North and South ends of the property flow during winter and spring. Make sure to leave some time in your schedule during your stay for stargazing too.brbrUsing the telescope, beautiful views of the Orion Nebula, Andromeda Galaxy, Hercules Cluster, and many other deep sky objects are yours to behold. The telescope offers a TOUR mode, which takes you to the best and brightest objects in the sky during your stay. Stargazing doesn't get any easier than this.brbrWhat on EARTH are you waiting for Go mining in the INFINITE FRONTIER above! An inspiring adventure of discovery for the young and the young-at-heart is here at Trabucco Gardens. brbrNOTE: Please include a phone number with your inquiry in case our E-mail reply fails to reach you due to technical reasons. Due to this there is always a chance of wildlife encounters, including the occasional rattlesnake. Please keep pets leashed and supervised. brbrOutdoor fires of any kind are strictly prohibited in the high fire season, usually June-November, due to risk of wildfires. brbrWildfires are a possibility at certain times of year, and because of this, air quality might deteriorate during these times. The house is equipped with air purifiers for our guests’ comfort. We have an abundance of wildlife and you may observe deer, turkeys, squirrels, hawks, and rabbits. Not as common but sometimes spotted are coyotes, bears, mountain lions, raccoons, skunks, opossums, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, and scorpions. You may occasionally encounter poison oak and poison ivy in the area around the home.brbrDuring winter months it is recommended that guests carry snow chains for their vehicles in case of snow or icy conditions. Conditions can be unpredictable at this time of year and it is recommended that guests’ vehicles are prepared for the weather. Snowy or icy road conditions are common in the mountains of California, including Yosemite, from fall through spring. When these conditions exist, federal regulations (in Yosemite) and state law (outside Yosemite) require that you use chains or cables in order to reduce the chances of accidents. If roads are icy or snowy, expect chain controls to be in effect. In Yosemite, park rangers frequently check vehicles, reminding drivers to install tire chains if necessary. Snow chains are usually not mandatory for 4x4 drive and winter tires.brbrOccasionally throughout the year, power outages occur, though they are typically brief. In this case, there will not be hot water, heat, a/c, or access to appliances. There are backup lights, howeverbr1. Maximum 8 people, after 6 guests $50 per person per night.br2.
