My place is good for couples, business travelers, and families.brbrThis wonderful home is in the heart of Hermosa Beach and caters to a calm, friendly atmosphere. Have your morning coffee on the balcony or enjoy the bright open-floor plan of the kitchen, living and dining spaces. brThis is a home and not a party palace, hotel or typical rental and therefore there is a zero tolerance policy on parties. If the cops are called you will be asked to leave immediately and the deposit will be forfeited. brWhat you'll love about this home is the location (1 block from beach), light airy beach feel and amenities! You will have access to laundry and 2 parking spots. (Half of the garage is reserved for owner storage. Surf boards are NOT available for use.)brWe want your stay in Hermosa to be as memorable as possible. Like most homes on the coast, windows and fans are used as opposed to traditional AC. So when you've opened that window to invite the cool ocean breeze in at night, please keep in mind that neighbors are close by and can hear your conversation. Sadly, this means that you may also hear the neighbor’s noise. No loud music after 10 p.m. on a week night and 10 p.m. on a weekend and please no smoking indoors. brPlease note that 2 of the bedrooms face Hermosa Ave. The windows are double pane, but you can still slightly hear the street traffic when they are closed. brAs this is a monthly rental, you will be required to engage the cleaning services for three of the weeks and pay them directly. This is a BASEMENT unit that locks off from the main house and has its own private entrance. The unit has 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a Queen size bed. The other bedroom has a full sized bed. There is also a living room area that can be used as an office for remote working. This unit has two full bathrooms, and another 1/2 bathroom off of the living room. The kitchen is very well stocked. There is a stove top burner and a counter Breville convection oven for baking and toasting. There is NO VIEW from this unit. This rental is all about LOCATION, as it is extremely close to the beach, the HB Pier, and The Strand boardwalk. This basement unit has stairs, and may not be ideal for guests that have difficulty with stairs. You will have access to the shared rooftop deck, which has ocean and city views, along with outdoor furniture and large lounging areas to enjoy the sunshine, and the beautiful sunsets. The garage is also a shared space with the main house, and is loaded with beach toys that guests can use whenever they want. Bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, and surf boards are all kept in the garage for your enjoyment. A washer and dryer are also located in the shared garage, and available for you to use. This rental unit can park ONE car in the driveway. There are so many activities scheduled in Hermosa Beach, and depending on the time of your visit, you may enjoy concerts on the beach, volleyball or surf tournaments, local wildlife, and tons of shopping and fine or casual dining! This three bed, three bath, one hundred year old beach house is half a block to the sand, about 300 feet to Hermosa Beach Pier, and walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. After a day in the ocean or on the volleyball courts, relax in the large courtyard after washing off in the warm outdoor shower. Although the house is less than 1300 square feet, it comes with a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and three parking spaces. Some sporadic noise from City Parking Structure.brThe spacebrThis historic Hermosa Beach house is a great place for a family vacation - its half a block to the beach and volleyball courts, about 300 feet to the Hermosa Beach Pier, and walking distance to all downtown Hermosa shopping and restaurants. It was built about 100 years ago, and is as charming now as it was then. The house comes equipped with a full kitchen, dish washer, refrigerator, coffee maker, Nespresso, cooking utensils, and everything needed to serve meals to your family and friends.brbrThe house is small, less than 1300 square feet, but benefits from a huge outdoor patio space of over 1800 square feet. The house is divided into two separate sections.brbrThe main section contains two spacious (over 300 square foot) bedrooms upstairs with a King bed in one and a Queen bed in the other. Also upstairs is a full bathroom with a double sink and a large shower. There are eight stairs leading from the first floor to the second, with a low ceiling in part of the staircase that will require those over 6 feet to temporarily watch their heads. The second full bathroom is located on the first floor. Also on the first floor is a queen sized sofa sleeper, which can be used for extra guests.brbrThe second section of the house can be accessed through a sliding door. It contains a twin size day bed, built in office desk and chair, and a large full bathroom. All bedrooms enjoy air conditioning and heating with mini-split units.brbrThe neighborhood is beach oriented, with a bike rental shop (Hermosa Cyclery) and stores offering beach rentals less than 100 feet from the property. The house is situated on an alley, on the other side of which is a parking garage run by the Hermosa Beach City. There is sporadic noise in the form of car alarms, honking, and music which can be loud coming from this parking area - but it is usually a disturbance for about one hour a week. These disturbances can be loud and late at night, but the police are quick to respond to noise complaints. We are not close enough to the bars on Pier Avenue to get regular bar noise.brbrThose who love the beach, love our house. It's a game changer to have a private house and courtyard to come back to after a day in the sun. It's very different from a hotel stay, where you have to choose between staying in the room, or enjoying the Hermosa Beach sun. Here, you can be out of the house, but still enjoy some privacy outdoors. You will have three parking spaces included in the rental, as well as laundry machines.brbrI lived in this house for 12 years and really enjoyed it. Wonderful private cottage and totally separate from the main house and one block to the ocean and The Strand! It is a beautiful open, airy great room design with cathedral ceilings and lots of light. Many beach properties do not have air conditioning because it is not needed this close to the beach but I have provided air conditioning. It is located in the bedroom but cools the whole house. The cottage boasts a large separate deck with room to have a barbecue and a patio table, as well, as room to sunbathe if you don't feel like walking the one block to the beach! The deck is totally private and only used by you and your guests. Many properties located this close to the beach do not have much outdoor space because of the size of the lots this close to the beach. The furnishings are exactly like pictures. It is a really wonderful place to stay.br brThere is private off-street parking designated for your car only. No moving your car to get out of the way of another car!br brBeach equipment, boogie boards, beach chairs and towels are available at the cottage. Bikes, too!brbrMany things are within walking distance i.e. stores, all water sports, bicycle rentals, restaurants for dinner as well as a wonderful breakfast place called Martha's. The Strand is one block away. Perfect for walking, riding, running, rollerblading. Or, if you prefer some sand, sun and surf, take the 10 minute walk to Hermosa Beach where you can enjoy the ocean or watch a beautiful sun set.brbrThe master suite is amazing... its the reason we bough the house. It includes a huge bedroom with high ceilings, a humongous walk-in closet and a giant bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi tub. The master suite also has a 50' flat screen TV, as well as a sliding glass door that opens into the private backyard... great for letting summer breezes flow though the house.brbrThe spacious second bedroom includes a queen bed and shares a full bathroom with the smaller third bedroom, which has a single bed for kids (and a pull out mattress for another kid). brbrThe large living room has plenty of open space and also includes a 50' flat screen plus a home entertainment system. The adjacent dining area has sliding glass doors that also open up into the private back yard.brbrThe kitchen is only one year old, open and gorgeous. Tons of storage and all the gadgets you need. Dining room table and island seating keeps everyone engaged while hanging out.brbrThe backyard is completely kid and pet friendly. Its fenced in and spacious enough throw the ball or play in the sprinklers. We've just built a new volleyball court that is a super fun too. Use our grill and patio dining set for a nice dinner outside in the warm summer air, and we've got a fire pit and an outdoor TV for movies under the stars.brbrThe garage has room for 1 car, our washer and dryer and tons of beach toys, and the driveway can hold three more cars. If necessary, there is plenty of parking on the street as well. Parking is never a problem (but you don't really need a car anyway).brbrThe house is a ten minute walk from the beach (less on bikes), so its easy to head down after dinner for a sunset drink or a nice quite ride on the Strand.brbrWe are also just around the corner from the best park in Hermosa Beach: Valley Park is only a five minute walk down the 'green belt'. The park has a huge field for soccer and other sports, picnic areas, BBQ pits, and handful of great jungle gyms that can entertain the kids for hours. Great for birthdays or just spending time with the kids.brbrWhen you want to get out of the south bay, Venice Beach and Santa Monica are less than 30 minutes away, and you can make it to Hollywood or down town Los Angeles in less than 45 minutes. LAX is only 15 minutes away.
